Just finished my own Italian super (well, endurance) bike! - Pinarello Paris frame and post - Most carbon stem and bars - Super Record 12s group - Selle Italia saddle - Bora WTO 45mm wheels - Assioma power meter pedals - Deda bar tape - Elite cages and bottles - Selle SMP saddle bag Probably taking it a little far but the go-to wardrobe is: - Giro helmet - Campy jersey and bib - Castelli gloves - Giro Pro Techlace shoes and socks The only things that aren’t Italian are my Garmin and my glasses (working on it)!
Gorgeous bike. I'm looking to buy now and all of these Italian bikes are making it hard to decide! I'm doing my first full tri in September and would love a video on how an amateur can pick a fast, but reasonably priced bike.
As usual info packed and kept me glued. Nice vid. Guys still have to ask would you classify this C68 as an Endurance bike ? I mean they already have a road and an all road right?
Good looking bike, seems like this one is designed more for look and feel over outright speed. Like you said comparing a sports car to a race car. I'm not even a roadie and I'd totally ride this bike
@@gcntech I didn’t choose 🤣. That was on the bike and I couldn’t change it. At that time I thought was normal to feel that you can’t walk when you arrive on top. 🤣🤣
@@gcntech and actually shimano 105 group of the people! But when I was in high school I’ve done passo falzarego on a 1962 olimpia with campagnolo Valentino with 39/ 17 I suppose. You can do it and you don’t need the saddle because you stand all the time. I was you and I trained!
I like the functional design aspects, but I want a Colnago with Art Decor paint. Of course, when I built one of these up with the same components and a few options (and custom paint - whatever that might be...), the price is around $17,000 USD. Whew...
Good looking bike, but the repeated comments on how this isn't aero or light is starting to sound like an excuse. Why shouldn't it be aero or light? Those wheels are, and the group set certainly qualifies, so apart from endurance geometry what are the benefits of losing the 'racier' elements? I think it's light enough and fast enough not to need apologies for performance.
Endurance geometry? Nah. A touch more comfy and relaxed-yes, but not outright endurance bike. If one needs a race bike, which this isn't, there is the V3Rs
The C68 is gorgeous. Especially the Ti version in Black with Gold. It was my very close 2nd choice, with exactly this Campy group and Bora WTO wheel combination. But Pinarello put the Dogma F out in Plutonium Flash and it leaves the C68 looking a little....meh.
Someone should remind Ollie that cyclists usually compare tool-sizes in the saddle on segments rather than on the roadside... And you never touch another cyclist's tool!
You are wrong. Glossy white shows the scratches the least. And when you have a bike that expensive and gorgeous every lil scratch on the matte black (which seems to be the magnet for scratches) breaks your heart.
Sad to see the changes that make it more of a collector's bike than a rider's bike. Ironically, I think it will just increase the demand for boutique steel bikes like Battagalin and Pegoretti, because Colnago has abandoned the classic steel models they were famous for. With these changes (like NFTs on bikes) we are witnessing the transformation brought about by the ownership change from Italian to Emirati. However, there's no reason they can't continue to make a bike enthusiasts will want and grow the brand to compete with FACTOR and other upscale brands. There are some unique custom geometry innovations not mentioned here but discussed elsewhere.
I believe Colnago still sells it's iconic bikes, steel master frames and/or arebesque frames. Colnago still caters to fans of the real, steel deal. I dont see how the NFT degrade the ownership experience, it is only a way to have a proof of ownership. If it puts you of you could just forget about it.
@@henkdevrjes9640 Yes, now that you mention it, if the NFT prevents counterfeit, I think it is a good idea, for all high end bikes or ensuring warranty claims. An alternative might be an embedded RFID. You are also correct regarding the steel frames. I missed it in the website as it appears now under "Iconic".
Ollie £12,000 + for that C68 what on earth are you boys earning!! that's insane for a bike .. Let the Hambini give it the engineers look. Instead of fawning over the paint finish. How round was the bottom bracket sockets. Hambini shows that many are either out of spec or not round enough.
I love Colnago and certainly wouldn't turn down one if it were offered to me, but the layout of the blue, gold, and white looks kind of random and like they couldn't decide what they wanted to do.
I met this guy on the trail in Ojai California who had a bike similar to that. Same brand. I think he said it cost 10 Grand lol. He smoked me and I'm 20 years younger than him haha. I couldn't keep up with him. Good times
It doesn’t seem like it will make the vast majority of people to whom it is being marketed much *slower*, so I don’t think the fact that no one’s going to win the Tour de France on a C68 is necessarily a strike against it. It’s definitely out of my league- what I recently spent on a complete Specialized Tarmac SL7 Pro was a little more than I’d have to spend just to buy a C68 frame. I’m afraid I’ll have to wait for a retired lawyer or dentist in one of my groups rides to buy one so I can get a quick look at it before I drop him on a moderate climb.
Dude, I'm a 51 year old lean lawyer racing cat . 2 in the states. Bet I'm in better shape than you. Don't make assumptions just because you're unsuccessful

Where do I enter to win this?
Well, the valves are not aligned, the bottle are still in there and is that a *stick* holding it up?
I jest, it's definitely one of my dream bikes!
Finally a Campagnolo equipped bike, gets old seeing the same old reviews of SHRAMANO equipped bikes. Thank you!
The best Italian bike, real hand made in Italy. Good job Colnago, thank you GCN
It’s a nice looking bike, no doubt, but I think I still prefer the C64…I like the lugs and (imo) the C68 is much less distinctive
Good job Ollie. I have watched many C68 videos but yours is the first to explain the bottom bracket sufficiently.
One thing I really appreciate about Ollie's presentations is the dry humor!

I watched the other video (fabulous) and appreciate this in-depth on this dream machine. Thanks, Ollie.

I can't stand black bikes. That's just about every bike these days. They look dirty even when they're clean. By definition, I love this.
The paint job is sublime!
Have you tried the online configurator on our website? There you can have even greater colors combinations

What are those levers on the inside of the handlebars?
Campagnolo shifters look like that. The thumb paddles shift into lower cog/chainring.
