Kido is the coolest thing about Bleach, some say. But Kubo really did not reveal much. I still can't believe he showed the Number 99 only to not activate and do nothing at all...
Bleach and how it ended so badly and with so many unexplored ideas is result of Kubo wanting to create second One Piece with huge universe despite not being able to do so correctly and editors and other people from Shonen Jump just having enough of his shenaningans.
You know all the Kido Corps dudes got 100x more cocky after Aizen got sealed by Kido. They just strut around Soul Society going "Yeah, nice sword, chump. But last time I checked, Kido beat Aizen." So of course that random scrub thought he was tough enough to punish Aizen. He drank the Koolaid, and he got carried away.
I don´t know where the wiki got the info from, a data book I believe, but apparently the white clothed guys seen escorting Rukia and Aizen around at the prisons where Onmitsukido and not from the Kido Corps, after all what they wear appears to match the "correctional attire" on the stealth force page.

Also: Even One Single Kido-Master would be a great Asset in each War, you cant tell me otherwise! So igrnoing the Chances of countless Kido Masters "serving in the Shadows" BUT AT LEAST ONE THEY SHOULD HAVE; YEAH?! Yes, Barriers and maybe even some Bakudo are 'ineffective' against Strong Quincy, but that's by no means any explanation why the whole Kido Corps including current Captain (there must be one) dont do ANYTHING. At the very least, I woulda liked to see who replaced Tessai. Woulda been awesome to see the Kido Corps captain fight a Sternritter. Everyone's freaking out about bankai-stealing... How about a captain who doesn't use a zanpakuto has a badass fight??
Tite Kubo always had cool concept ideas, character designs, giving enemies badass abilities.... But unfortunately too much falls apart when it comes to actually finishing the story for [insert arc] and developing many of the characters in his series.
I watched the series for the first time recently (up to the end of the Soul Society arc) after hearing a lot about where it goes and the ending and stuff, and, honestly, aside from a lot of the Soul Reaper fights, honestly a lot of the writing is just pretty sloppy overall. Stuff just sort-of happens and there's usually not a lot of explanation behind how or why it is the way it is, there were quite a few inconsistencies overall, and a lot of the storytelling choices in general weren't great. Like, for example, when the group gets split up, Kenpachi's just like "I'm gonna mess one of these mother-effers up!" and then he just goes to a meeting and then he gets back on the streets and it's a comic relief thing where he keeps missing Ichigo, then he goes back to a meeting again and they're like 'NOW you have permission to fight'.... AND THEN we finally get to see him have his big fight! And it's just like "What? Why? This seems super poorly thought out...." So the general impression I got was that the series itself wasn't really well written or planned out that effectively, but the battles themselves were awesome as fuck outside of the few times where the series just decided to go back on a battle and have people just run off after starting an encounter or it just simply didn't show really anything from the actual fight.

Heil Jewbacca Kubo has a hard time writting believeable and personal characters that actually develop. He always uses anime stereotypes to fufill that role. Non of it is a believeable personality that could exist in the real world, therefore, empathy is mostly non existant when reading the story. I cried when ace and whitebeard died. I cried when Jiraiya and Itachi died. I cried multiple times during berserk, and felt intense emotional fluctuations throughout the story. I never once felt sad during bleach, even when ichigos heart was ripped out by ulquirra. This is where kubo fails immensly as a writter.
THEORY: The Kido Corps. members could be the equivalents to scholars in Confucianism and Daoism, or even Buddhist monks, so they don't really mingle with military (in this case the Gotei 13). Instead, they probably keep to themselves and focus on recording, practicing, and creating new techniques in the Kido arts. The kido that the Gotei use are probably the only ones that the military can use practically and safely in battle. Meaning there could be thousands of Kio spells that we don't know about, but are just too dangerous, unpractical, or whatever, to be of any use to he Gotei. Tenjiro tells Soi Fon: "The Royal Guard's duty is to protect the Soul King Palace, and the Gotei 13 is to protect Soul Society. As someone who bears the name of Gotei, don't go crying to us about how help didn't come just because you couldn't do anything." So, it makes sense that we don't see the Kido corps. because we're dealing with situations, such as war and invasions, which don't pertain to them.
Estelle Vu Agreed, but still ... kinda foolish in a time where you and your society's entire existence is at stake. I would imagine this situation is an exception for anyone, regardless of how stubborn they are about it. It's similar to not freeing Aizen.
I suppose the developing and testing of new kido makes sense as to why the operate in secrecy. If people knew who they were, forbidden and dangerous kido could end up leaking to members of the Gotei 13. I still think they should be able to help in extreme situations such as when Aizen threatened wiped out everything and everyone. I'm not saying send them in right away, but as a last resort, such as when Aizen pretty much took out everybody. At that point, you can't just pretend nothing's happening, and leave it two people (one of which is a substitute, and the other no longer part of the organization) to stop him.
Kido has became criminally underrated. I mean in the first two seasons a lot of characters were using Kido spells but now everything is all about Bankais and Hollow Powers. Just how many notable Kido users we currently have anyway? Tessai, Hachigen, Aizen, Momo and that's about it really. granted there are other characters like Izuru or Rukia who knew couple spells they still much rather fight with their Zanpakuto's instead. Only those four i mentioned before are actual Kido users. Just why? Why did Kubo decided to basically abandon such interesting fighting style? Was it because Zanpakutos were much more interesting in his eyes? Or just bad writing in general? So much wasted potential.
Urahara can even crate his own kido techniques, aside from using other high level kido, and Byakuya has made a pretty big use of kido throughout the series.
I actually think they could have built a little training arc like that fairly well. Like Ichigo finally figures out that "hey i only have ONE attack with this sword" and then you can include him going though some training to learn Kido, you could include Urahara, Rukia, Ukitake an the Kido Corps.
Even if they didn't want it to be a part of his skillset or if it would have taken too long or something, it would have at least been good for them to have a scene where Ichigo's like "So what's the thing for casting fireballs? ... Oh, beginners have to do a chant? Well what's the chant? ........ Fuck it, I'll never remember all of that!"
That sounds about right with Ichigo... While he does pretty well in school, remembering chants and the like is what he would most likely classify as a pain in the ass and just ditch it all together :P
The way the fight with The Miracle ended, How Uryu didn't get killed by Haschwalth, how ineffective and underwhelming and ineffective Ichigo was pretty much for the duration of the final battle, the lack of concluding stories about the state of a good portion of the characters, off-screening the Zero Squad (the regular Gotei 13 put up a better fight. lol).

Was waiting for him to show (or at least get a mention) during the whole war against Aizen. You would think given his (albeit somewhat small) involvement in the hollowfication incident he would have a score to settle with Aizen too, but nope, his whereabouts was never explained doing god knows what for god knows why.
I mean, when the Vice capitans and Toshiro went to Karakura town and Renji got attacked by a espada, just on the Keiuske's shop, this guy didn't even try to fucking "Hadou 99" that stupid espada's ass. Quick question i was looking on the wiki and it said he has a bankai since he was the leader of the kido corps. I thought that was only a thing for the gotei 13. Was that stated anywhere.

@@slevinchannel7589 something i always like to imagine as a head cannon is ichigo went to urahara or something and was like "hey can you teach me some of this" but urahara just just makes fun of him talking about how poor his reiatsu control is so ichigo just got dejected and never asked again. Kind of like that moment in early bleach where ichigo offers to help out his dad in the clinic and he just tells him hell get in the way, so ichigo goes in the corner with the dark anime cloud.
Such a cool concept that was completely wasted. If there's one thing I will always give Kubo credit for, it's coming up with interesting and unique powers. There were a lot of really cool Kido spells that he came up with, but many of them were only ever used once. At the very least he could have used characters like Tessai and Hachi in the final arc and had them go crazy using all sorts of different Kido, but they basically did nothing in the arc at all, hell I don't think Tessai was shown a single time. It's really frustrating and it also just shows Kubo can't handle a huge cast of characters.

They are kind of annoying in Bleach Soul Resurreccion because they defend your's projectiles with barriers and trap you in bakudou at a distance ... yeah... they were better represented in the game than in the anime/manga...

By that logic no quincy can hurt another quincy, because they'd just absorb/redirect one another's attacks. We've seen Quincy on Quincy violence though, so we know that isn't the case. Another example would be back in the Hueco Mundo arc. Uryuu fought the one Arrancar, whose main ability was just firing blasts of reishi at the target, and Uryuu simply countered those attacks with his own arrows. If he could absorb or redirect the attacks, he would have done that rather than waste time and energy on pointless attacks. Edit: looked it up, Aisslinger Wernarr was the Arrancar I was thinking of, though I was thinking of Uryuu's reaction to a different arrancar and adjusted my statement.
Abyssionknight well, ywach can't be having quincy troll other quincys. Plus the only fight was between uyru and Hash, and Hash can't manipulate reishi, as he is ywach other half. When it comes to hollow reishi, that's another story, as hollows are poison to quincy.

Tessai is captain level. He is very powerful. He's a Kido prodigy and he can use Hakuda that means he is skilled in close hand to hand combat and has enhanced strength. he also wielded a Staff when he was the Kido Corps Captain. I wonder if he can cast kido spells with that gold metal staff of his. He can use healing kido and forbidden kido. Since, he is probably the founder and chief of the Kido Corps he is very very skilled and powerful.

The really cool thing about Tesei is that he could bloody stop time and teleport several people including himself to a location far away. Yet Kubo never even put him in a proper battle. Kubo really does know how to waste characters.

Kido Corps is not part of the Gotei 13, officially. Part of me would not be surprised if the Kido Corps had some hand in the creation of the Soul King, however.
Koga Kuchiki invented his own kido spells, I have uploaded the "official" Koga and Muramasa drama cd in 10 parts to my channel where it's explained he was a child prodigy. It would have been cool to see that or another character doing that in the canon.
I don't think Kubo did anything with the Kido Corps because I don't think Kubo came up with more than like five spells. Byakuya has the most variety and even he sticks to Byakurai, Sokatsui and bars of light thing. Every other person just uses Shakaho until they're blue in the face. Hell Sosuke Momofucking Aizen was apparently a master of all arts of everything and the only thing he did was Kurohitsugi and Super Butterfly God Kurohitsugi that Ichigo bitchslapped from reality. I think Momo is a "Kido Expert" because she used Pale Fire Crash and only students use that because it sucks. Every other Kido like the teleporting ribbons, or Hachigen's snapping death cubes was situational and Kubo probably made it up on the spot to look cool. I think at least the filler arc with the Zanpakutou gave us a Kido off with Byakuya and Koga for like five minutes and that was neat.
I just wanted to see Tessai in battle, or at least in a support role, but we never got it. Hacchi's performance against Barragan made me interested in seeing more. If it were ever time for a forbidden transportation Kidou then it was after Askin/Urahara.

here what should have the fight with Juha and Aizen be: -3 chapters just Azien using kiddo against Juha -2 chapters using Hado 99 and 100 -2 chapters mixing Kido and Hado with Kyouka siegitsue -4 chapters at least of flashback of Aizen how he become powerful shingami -2 chapters Aizen using HIS BANKAI and teaming up with Itchigo -that#$#$%$#@ with the arrow and ishida shouldn,t been there - 1 chapter of Aizen deciding becoming a good person or continuing trolling
I believe the reason Ichigo never learned kido were two reasons: He had plenty on his plate already, i mean, the guy is still in highschool and has shit to do, and has to go hollow hunting daily. The other reason is because he lacks control over his power, but now that the series ended and he mastered his powers and is done with school, i see no reason why he wouldnt learn it. I think another reason ichigo doesnt use kido is because he would be a bit too similar to naruto, considering that kido is a lot like jutsu. Either way, I wouldve loved to see him use basic kido, or at least get a god damned bow.

Ururu, and I second that. I found them really interesting as well so my pet theory is they are like Nemu, only better. I really thought we would see their real purpose/special ability. When she went into genocide mode and pwned that Arrancar without a weapon I thought that was foreshadowing. Maybo Kubo is just a master at red herrings.
I liked the two of them very much. Especially Ururu. While it is mentioned that Ginta is a a normal boy (i just read it on the bleachwiki) it is not that easy to say the sam about Ururu.
But a normal person couldn't see shinigamis and fight hollows, so I feel like that isn't the whole answer for him. So many underdeveloped characters :(

givmespace I understand but when I really look back over it he thinks he wasn't being rushed as much but think about it, he skipped the battle between hisagi byakuya and ikkaku vs those steritters which would have a been a perfect time to show off hisagi bankia, and then he skipped the battle between the zero squad he doesn't know exactly wats going on with kubo Maybe jump was pressuring kubo before hand not saying it happened but it's possible
Thank you SO much for doing a video on the Kidou Corps!!! You're right about there not being any other videos on the Kidou Corps. Ever since I first read about the Kidou Corps I've always wanted to learn more about it and would have chosen to be a part of the Kidou Corps if I were a shinigami in Bleach. I feel like the Kidou Corps would have been so cool and originally thought that they would have some secret function in helping to protect the Soul King (before we learned about the Zero Division). The Kidou Corps handled travel between the human world and Soul Society, and so it would have made sense if they were involved in maintaining the barrier separating the Soul Palace in its own dimension.
Tekking101 I think i know what happened to them!! I commented in your Great Houses video, but idk if you saw. I think Tessai was the head of the other "Fallen Great House." MUCH like Yoruichi, Tessai left, but he didnt have a "Soi Fong" to carry the Kido Corps (because Hachigen became a vizard.) Also whyKisuke can access the Senkaimon and other kidostuff so easily (hes smart aswell hasTessaisknowledge.) I REALLY thinkTessai and Hachigen were the leaders of one of the 4/5 Great Fallen Houses Soi Fong msntioned

The fact that he couldn't even get a mention during (or heck, even after) the whole war with Aizen is extremely disappointing, especially when you consider he was actually involved in what happened 100 years ago (you would think he would at least want to help a little, even if it was just teleporting the in injured away to heal them).
@@SN-mg8gh It's kind of Kubo's fault for making him so OP. He could stop time and warp space along with God knows whatever other forbidden techniques he has. He can also release full-powered kido without incantations which means he's going to shoot level 90+ kidos instantly and everywhere. This will end most fights quickly. It makes sense why Kubo couldn't use him because he just made him too strong.
Yeah, we needed more Tessai and Hachi in action. Tessai's Hado 88 in the turn back the clock arc was kick-ass. Made Unohana's and Urahara's look boring. It was even anticlimactic when it happened, Aizen just Bakudo 81: Fuck Off'd it without turning around. I mean, yeah, whatever, Aizen's powerful, but he could've at least gotten a paper cut or something.

The fact that new Kido CAN be invented makes it automatically obvious that the Numbers mean Difficulty and there are 99 Official Ones but you can make new ones that are 'equally strong/good'. But well, anyway: Kido is MASSIVELY underrated and needs to return 2021!!

I don't even understand the need for the "Kido corps". We saw people who were had stronger kido than the members of the corps we saw... I mean look at Aizen's kido and urahara's, unohana and Yamamoto even used higher hado.. The kido Corps was just a retcon that Kubo didn't fix..
Tessai should have led the group that approached Aizen and Gin with Kanoji and that scrub stationed in the living world. Would have loved to have saw what the previous Kido captain could do.
If Tessai was the Grand Master maybe the loss of Hacchi and Tessai simultaneously led to the Kido Corps falling into a more ceremonial role much like 4th squad in the SS Arc...I mean the Stealth Corps don't seem to be doing to well following Yourichi's departure. They are basically like mall security guards in SS.
Renji used a trick attack and did a shit-level kido blast at point blank and just 'jammed' a bunch of rieshi into it. Ichigo should have been able to at least throw like a kido rasengan point blank, I mean Renji is a badass, but he's no kido savant.
Its clear that Kubo just didn't really give a damn about Kido other than it being Michael Bay fodder explosions. Granted everything he drew eventually became Bay-explosions so...eh. If I had any theories on the Kido Corps it looks like preservation for society for the kido arts more than actual a division of fighters. Other than their duties for the opening up portals to and from the seireitei. Just a thought. They might exist simply to learn and maybe potentially master kido and pass it on - ideally to members of the gotei 13. Kido is treated like magic (as of now) in the Soulsbourne series. It's strong but lacks proper DPS when a good old sword (that is a version of your own soul) does the trick with a good couple of whacks. And I'm guess kido (even in a non-incantation state) is pretty pointless (and a huge waste of spirit power) if even the higher difficulty ones don't restrain or outright kill the target
I love kidos... I had (almost) all of them memorized and even some of the chants as well... But then they disappeared. Not only that, but they didn't get any development. All we knew from the beginning about them was the same that we know now...
There is also a method where I can learn how to shoot Fire and lightning from my fucking hands. If a could do it I will totally try to learn it. That was hilarious!!!

Yes, Barriers and maybe even some Bakudo are 'ineffective' against Strong Quincy, but that's by no means any explanation why the whole Kido Corps including current Captain (there must be one) dont do ANYTHING. Yeah, it's very disappointing that someone that was actually involved in the hollowfication incident 100 years ago basically ended up having no involvement at all during the war against Aizen (as opposed to a bunch of characters who had nothing to do with it getting involved). He wasn't even mentioned during (or heck, even after) the whole time.

Not even being salty about the lame ass ending, in general all standing plot points in Bleach went absolutely nowhere, and I'm speaking prior to the cancellation. The Soul King is the key that holds everything together! Pssh, he is dead and nothing changed, who cares? Ganju is back and he has been training with the 3 dead Fullbringers...except only one of them does anything at all and one of them completely dissapears off the map... Tessai can freeze time and manipulate space cause he is the most powerful Kido user...Ukitake!!...yeah Ukitake didn't do much at all...the Quincy went and annihilated every last Arrancar/Hollow in Hueco Mundo...you know...those Hollows that were involved in the cycle of reincarnation...the hourglass that gets broken metaphor...welp that surely did amount to a whole lot of nothing! This series needs to be remembered forever as the biggest flop, and it's author, Kubo, as the Shyamalan of manga.
10:52- it’s very clear from the final chapter, that even if Aizen and Yhwach didn’t show up and he never became a Soul Reaper- he’d inherit the Kurosaki clinic because that’s all he know- a clinic with a questionable license because Isshin himself likely has a falsified documentation that might not add up if anyone in Karakura Town even bothered to ask where he’s from. Being a Soul Reaper was a need to relieve the trauma of his past- a badass relief and once the Quincy are done- with apparently no enemies, he does the Gohan thing and retire in spite of his vast potential because it was never his primary goal. If Bleach ever got an official sequel, he’d be Yoshikage like minor antagonist to Kazui’s likely desire to be a Soul Reaper because Ichigo is really obsessed with a normal, uneventful life.
Shaz kill most of the 46 fools. That was the best think Shaz did at all. King Baraggan is smart, he was King and all had to bow to him and his God like power. Yea, I did a full on story about the First Generation of the Espada. Zommari mention it, but it never when anyway. Make fan wonder who were the very first Espada of all time. Aaroniero was confirmed. It's pronounced Kido "Core"...even though it's spelled "C.O.R.P.S." . A "corpse" is a dead body, & it' has an "E" at the end. It's about time someone addressed the issue that Ichigo should've at least been shown trying to learn kido (if he wasn't to become more powerful, in order to defend those precious to him). I mentioned this in the comment section months & months ago. All Ichigo ever uses is getsyuga (& cero sometimes). He could've easily asked Tessai to teach him (he's the former Capt. of the Kido Corps). And shouldn't 1 of the Zero Squad have been responsible for creating kido spells? He could've learned it in the Soul Palace. .
Ichibē Hyōsube was sort of implied to have a lot to do with it. He's the monk of names remember, and Kido is all about words and intent becoming one in the form of the spell.

I seriously would have loved a Kido Corps centric arc or something to that effect. I thought they were an awesome idea, and made Tessai a much more interesting character to me. It makes me sad how ignored the KC ended up being :/
Dude how cool would it be if Kido had other stages or forms. Like for example, imagine Ichigo coating his sword with Kido, like Armament Haki. Kido could probably do so much but yet we don't know alot about it. Literally Kido could have been so useful, if it was captialized on.
Yeah it would've been nice if they expanded more on the kido crops. I thought that kubo would after turn back the pendulum cuz there are some really cool kido spells and I kinda figured that the higher the number the higher the difficulty to control the spell. It does make sense. Kido does remain me of some Hogwarts Harry Potter shit when you think about it and I do like harry potter so it's all good. If I was in the story I would learn it or learn all four like yoruichi did and soi-fon afterwards. I like yoruichi much better then her though. Kido theory is a gr8 bases for fanfictions though it does give you kinda of a blank slate since not to much is known about it and it wasn't expanded apond but I think that sometimes that's done on purpose just so fanfictions are done to see what people come up with cuz I know kubo and other authors read fanfictions of their own manga/anime and there's some vary well written and thought out stories so I believe when something isn't quite expanded on in a series that it's done purposely sometimes to have fans use their imaginations and write stories and make theories so authors can see what their fans come up with. It's as close as your going to get to being apart of the anime/manga without actually helping with writing it yourself especially if the author writes you, pm's you commenting you on your story which is really cool. Could have had one of the Zero squad members as ex-kido corps, what did Hikifune do again? She could have been this super OP master of kido, and at least justifying the "Zero squad > entire gotei". As it stands, Ichibei was stronger than all, but other 4 were weaker than current captains. Also, I love Tesai but he didn't see any play. You'd think Urahara would bring the best kido user with him to boost that gate at least, but nope.

Kido is the coolest thing about Bleach, some say. But Kubo really did not reveal much. I still can't believe he showed the Number 99 only to not activate and do nothing at all...
Bleach and how it ended so badly and with so many unexplored ideas is result of Kubo wanting to create second One Piece with huge universe despite not being able to do so correctly and editors and other people from Shonen Jump just having enough of his shenaningans.

I don´t know where the wiki got the info from, a data book I believe, but apparently the white clothed guys seen escorting Rukia and Aizen around at the prisons where Onmitsukido and not from the Kido Corps, after all what they wear appears to match the "correctional attire" on the stealth force page.

Tite Kubo always had cool concept ideas, character designs, giving enemies badass abilities.... But unfortunately too much falls apart when it comes to actually finishing the story for [insert arc] and developing many of the characters in his series.
I watched the series for the first time recently (up to the end of the Soul Society arc) after hearing a lot about where it goes and the ending and stuff, and, honestly, aside from a lot of the Soul Reaper fights, honestly a lot of the writing is just pretty sloppy overall. Stuff just sort-of happens and there's usually not a lot of explanation behind how or why it is the way it is, there were quite a few inconsistencies overall, and a lot of the storytelling choices in general weren't great. Like, for example, when the group gets split up, Kenpachi's just like "I'm gonna mess one of these mother-effers up!" and then he just goes to a meeting and then he gets back on the streets and it's a comic relief thing where he keeps missing Ichigo, then he goes back to a meeting again and they're like 'NOW you have permission to fight'.... AND THEN we finally get to see him have his big fight! And it's just like "What? Why? This seems super poorly thought out...."
So the general impression I got was that the series itself wasn't really well written or planned out that effectively, but the battles themselves were awesome as fuck outside of the few times where the series just decided to go back on a battle and have people just run off after starting an encounter or it just simply didn't show really anything from the actual fight.

Those effing fights, though, lol! Like the instant the fight between Ichigo and the bald snake guy was over, I was just like "OK, I completely get why this is so huge now."
And Kubo makes things even worse by creating new characters because that's what he does when he's stuck.
Heil Jewbacca Kubo has a hard time writting believeable and personal characters that actually develop. He always uses anime stereotypes to fufill that role. Non of it is a believeable personality that could exist in the real world, therefore, empathy is mostly non existant when reading the story. I cried when ace and whitebeard died. I cried when Jiraiya and Itachi died. I cried multiple times during berserk, and felt intense emotional fluctuations throughout the story. I never once felt sad during bleach, even when ichigos heart was ripped out by ulquirra. This is where kubo fails immensly as a writter.
THEORY: The Kido Corps. members could be the equivalents to scholars in Confucianism and Daoism, or even Buddhist monks, so they don't really mingle with military (in this case the Gotei 13). Instead, they probably keep to themselves and focus on recording, practicing, and creating new techniques in the Kido arts. The kido that the Gotei use are probably the only ones that the military can use practically and safely in battle. Meaning there could be thousands of Kio spells that we don't know about, but are just too dangerous, unpractical, or whatever, to be of any use to he Gotei. Tenjiro tells Soi Fon: "The Royal Guard's duty is to protect the Soul King Palace, and the Gotei 13 is to protect Soul Society. As someone who bears the name of Gotei, don't go crying to us about how help didn't come just because you couldn't do anything." So, it makes sense that we don't see the Kido corps. because we're dealing with situations, such as war and invasions, which don't pertain to them.
Estelle Vu Agreed, but still ... kinda foolish in a time where you and your society's entire existence is at stake. I would imagine this situation is an exception for anyone, regardless of how stubborn they are about it. It's similar to not freeing Aizen.

I suppose the developing and testing of new kido makes sense as to why the operate in secrecy. If people knew who they were, forbidden and dangerous kido could end up leaking to members of the Gotei 13. I still think they should be able to help in extreme situations such as when Aizen threatened wiped out everything and everyone. I'm not saying send them in right away, but as a last resort, such as when Aizen pretty much took out everybody. At that point, you can't just pretend nothing's happening, and leave it two people (one of which is a substitute, and the other no longer part of the organization) to stop him.

Kido has became criminally underrated. I mean in the first two seasons a lot of characters were using Kido spells but now everything is all about Bankais and Hollow Powers. Just how many notable Kido users we currently have anyway? Tessai, Hachigen, Aizen, Momo and that's about it really. granted there are other characters like Izuru or Rukia who knew couple spells they still much rather fight with their Zanpakuto's instead. Only those four i mentioned before are actual Kido users. Just why? Why did Kubo decided to basically abandon such interesting fighting style? Was it because Zanpakutos were much more interesting in his eyes? Or just bad writing in general? So much wasted potential.

Urahara can even crate his own kido techniques, aside from using other high level kido, and Byakuya has made a pretty big use of kido throughout the series.

Oh, beginners have to do a chant? Well what's the chant? ........ Fuck it, I'll never remember all of that!"

You would think given his (albeit somewhat small) involvement in the hollowfication incident he would have a score to settle with Aizen too, but nope, his whereabouts was never explained doing god knows what for god knows why.

@@slevinchannel7589 something i always like to imagine as a head cannon is ichigo went to urahara or something and was like "hey can you teach me some of this" but urahara just just makes fun of him talking about how poor his reiatsu control is so ichigo just got dejected and never asked again. Kind of like that moment in early bleach where ichigo offers to help out his dad in the clinic and he just tells him hell get in the way, so ichigo goes in the corner with the dark anime cloud.
Such a cool concept that was completely wasted. If there's one thing I will always give Kubo credit for, it's coming up with interesting and unique powers. There were a lot of really cool Kido spells that he came up with, but many of them were only ever used once. By that logic no quincy can hurt another quincy, because they'd just absorb/redirect one another's attacks.
We've seen Quincy on Quincy violence though, so we know that isn't the case.
Another example would be back in the Hueco Mundo arc. Uryuu fought the one Arrancar, whose main ability was just firing blasts of reishi at the target, and Uryuu simply countered those attacks with his own arrows. If he could absorb or redirect the attacks, he would have done that rather than waste time and energy on pointless attacks.
Edit: looked it up, Aisslinger Wernarr was the Arrancar I was thinking of, though I was thinking of Uryuu's reaction to a different arrancar and adjusted my statement.
Abyssionknight well, ywach can't be having quincy troll other quincys. Plus the only fight was between uyru and Hash, and Hash can't manipulate reishi, as he is ywach other half.
When it comes to hollow reishi, that's another story, as hollows are poison to quincy.

This is really out there, but maybe the elusive "French Arc" had something to do with the Kido Corps? That could be why we never seen it at all.
Tessai is captain level. He is very powerful. He's a Kido prodigy and he can use Hakuda that means he is skilled in close hand to hand combat and has enhanced strength. he also wielded a Staff when he was the Kido Corps Captain. I wonder if he can cast kido spells with that gold metal staff of his. He can use healing kido and forbidden kido. Since, he is probably the founder and chief of the Kido Corps he is very very skilled and powerful.

Kido Corps is not part of the Gotei 13, officially. Part of me would not be surprised if the Kido Corps had some hand in the creation of the Soul King, however.

Koga Kuchiki invented his own kido spells, I have uploaded the "official" Koga and Muramasa drama cd in 10 parts to my channel where it's explained he was a child prodigy. It would have been cool to see that or another character doing that in the canon.
I don't think Kubo did anything with the Kido Corps because I don't think Kubo came up with more than like five spells. Byakuya has the most variety and even he sticks to Byakurai, Sokatsui and bars of light thing. Every other person just uses Shakaho until they're blue in the face. Hell Sosuke Momofucking Aizen was apparently a master of all arts of everything and the only thing he did was Kurohitsugi and Super Butterfly God Kurohitsugi that Ichigo bitchslapped from reality. I think Momo is a "Kido Expert" because she used Pale Fire Crash and only students use that because it sucks. Every other Kido like the teleporting ribbons, or Hachigen's snapping death cubes was situational and Kubo probably made it up on the spot to look cool. I think at least the filler arc with the Zanpakutou gave us a Kido off with Byakuya and Koga for like five minutes and that was neat.
I just wanted to see Tessai in battle, or at least in a support role, but we never got it. Hacchi's performance against Barragan made me interested in seeing more. If it were ever time for a forbidden transportation Kidou then it was after Askin/Urahara.

I believe the reason Ichigo never learned kido were two reasons: He had plenty on his plate already, i mean, the guy is still in highschool and has shit to do, and has to go hollow hunting daily. The other reason is because he lacks control over his power, but now that the series ended and he mastered his powers and is done with school, i see no reason why he wouldnt learn it. I think another reason ichigo doesnt use kido is because he would be a bit too similar to naruto, considering that kido is a lot like jutsu. Either way, I wouldve loved to see him use basic kido, or at least get a god damned bow.

Ururu, and I second that. I found them really interesting as well so my pet theory is they are like Nemu, only better. I really thought we would see their real purpose/special ability. When she went into genocide mode and pwned that Arrancar without a weapon I thought that was foreshadowing. Maybo Kubo is just a master at red herrings.

I liked the two of them very much. Especially Ururu. While it is mentioned that Ginta is a a normal boy (i just read it on the bleachwiki) it is not that easy to say the sam about Ururu.
But a normal person couldn't see shinigamis and fight hollows, so I feel like that isn't the whole answer for him. So many underdeveloped characters :(

Ever since I first read about the Kidou Corps I've always wanted to learn more about it and would have chosen to be a part of the Kidou Corps if I were a shinigami in Bleach.
I feel like the Kidou Corps would have been so cool and originally thought that they would have some secret function in helping to protect the Soul King (before we learned about the Zero Division). The Kidou Corps handled travel between the human world and Soul Society, and so it would have made sense if they were involved in maintaining the barrier separating the Soul Palace in its own dimension.

MUCH like Yoruichi, Tessai left, but he didnt have a "Soi Fong" to carry the Kido Corps (because Hachigen became a vizard.) Also whyKisuke can access the Senkaimon and other kidostuff so easily (hes smart aswell hasTessaisknowledge.) Same here. Easily the biggest waste of potential in the series for me. The fact that he couldn't even get a mention during (or heck, even after) the whole war with Aizen is extremely disappointing, especially when you consider he was actually involved in what happened 100 years ago (you would think he would at least want to help a little, even if it was just teleporting the in injured away to heal them).

He can also release full-powered kido without incantations which means he's going to shoot level 90+ kidos instantly and everywhere. This will end most fights quickly. It makes sense why Kubo couldn't use him because he just made him too strong.

Yeah, we needed more Tessai and Hachi in action. Tessai's Hado 88 in the turn back the clock arc was kick-ass. Made Unohana's and Urahara's look boring. It was even anticlimactic when it happened, Aizen just Bakudo 81: Fuck Off'd it without turning around. I mean, yeah, whatever, Aizen's powerful, but he could've at least gotten a paper cut or something.

If Tessai was the Grand Master maybe the loss of Hacchi and Tessai simultaneously led to the Kido Corps falling into a more ceremonial role much like 4th squad in the SS Arc...I mean the Stealth Corps don't seem to be doing to well following Yourichi's departure. They are basically like mall security guards in SS.
Renji used a trick attack and did a shit-level kido blast at point blank and just 'jammed' a bunch of rieshi into it. Ichigo should have been able to at least throw like a kido rasengan point blank, I mean Renji is a badass, but he's no kido savant.

Its clear that Kubo just didn't really give a damn about Kido other than it being Michael Bay fodder explosions. Granted everything he drew eventually became Bay-explosions so...eh.
If I had any theories on the Kido Corps it looks like preservation for society for the kido arts more than actual a division of fighters. Other than their duties for the opening up portals to and from the seireitei. Just a thought. They might exist simply to learn and maybe potentially master kido and pass it on - ideally to members of the gotei 13.
Kido is treated like magic (as of now) in the Soulsbourne series. It's strong but lacks proper DPS when a good old sword (that is a version of your own soul) does the trick with a good couple of whacks. And I'm guess kido (even in a non-incantation state) is pretty pointless (and a huge waste of spirit power) if even the higher difficulty ones don't restrain or outright kill the target
I love kidos... I had (almost) all of them memorized and even some of the chants as well... But then they disappeared. Not only that, but they didn't get any development. All we knew from the beginning about them was the same that we know now...

Yeah, it's very disappointing that someone that was actually involved in the hollowfication incident 100 years ago basically ended up having no involvement at all during the war against Aizen (as opposed to a bunch of characters who had nothing to do with it getting involved). He wasn't even mentioned during (or heck, even after) the whole time.

The Soul King is the key that holds everything together! Pssh, he is dead and nothing changed, who cares? Ganju is back and he has been training with the 3 dead Fullbringers...except only one of them does anything at all and one of them completely dissapears off the map... Tessai can freeze time and manipulate space cause he is the most powerful Kido user...Ukitake!!...yeah Ukitake didn't do much at all...the Quincy went and annihilated every last Arrancar/Hollow in Hueco Mundo...you know...those Hollows that were involved in the cycle of reincarnation...the hourglass that gets broken metaphor...welp that surely did amount to a whole lot of nothing!
This series needs to be remembered forever as the biggest flop, and it's author, Kubo, as the Shyamalan of manga.

10:52- it’s very clear from the final chapter, that even if Aizen and Yhwach didn’t show up and he never became a Soul Reaper- he’d inherit the Kurosaki clinic because that’s all he know- a clinic with a questionable license because Isshin himself likely has a falsified documentation that might not add up if anyone in Karakura Town even bothered to ask where he’s from. Being a Soul Reaper was a need to relieve the trauma of his past- a badass relief and once the Quincy are done- with apparently no enemies, he does the Gohan thing and retire in spite of his vast potential because it was never his primary goal. Yea, I did a full on story about the First Generation of the Espada. Zommari mention it, but it never when anyway. Make fan wonder who were the very first Espada of all time. Aaroniero was confirmed. Nelliel, Dordoni, Cirucci, and Gantenbainne had to be too. Make you question what did the Privaron do to make the lose their position? Tosen told the did unforgivable crime, just make want to know why. Since I make better and logic answer for how the first nine Espada were and want happen to them.

It's about time someone addressed the issue that Ichigo should've at least been shown trying to learn kido (if he wasn't to become more powerful, in order to defend those precious to him). I mentioned this in the comment section months & months ago.
All Ichigo ever uses is getsyuga (& cero sometimes). He could've easily asked Tessai to teach him (he's the former Capt. of the Kido Corps). And shouldn't 1 of the Zero Squad have been responsible for creating kido spells? He could've learned it in the Soul Palace. .
Ichibē Hyōsube was sort of implied to have a lot to do with it. He's the monk of names remember, and Kido is all about words and intent becoming one in the form of the spell.

It'd be cool if in order to become a Capt of the Kido candidates had to create their own kido spell. :)
I seriously would have loved a Kido Corps centric arc or something to that effect. I thought they were an awesome idea, and made Tessai a much more interesting character to me. It makes me sad how ignored the KC ended up being :/

Dude how cool would it be if Kido had other stages or forms. Like for example, imagine Ichigo coating his sword with Kido, like Armament Haki. Kido could probably do so much but yet we don't know alot about it. Literally Kido could have been so useful, if it was captialized on.

Well the anime ended in 2012 so it might come back, but there as been nothing in terms of news on if it will. It won't be anytime soon

Before I even continue watching, thanks so much for pronouncing the word "corps" correctly. The word "corps" is like your abdominal "core."
Yeah it would've been nice if they expanded more on the kido crops. I thought that kubo would after turn back the pendulum cuz there are some really cool kido spells and I kinda figured that the higher the number the higher the difficulty to control the spell. It does make sense. Kido does remain me of some Hogwarts Harry Potter shit when you think about it and I do like harry potter so it's all good. If I was in the story I would learn it or learn all four like yoruichi did and soi-fon afterwards. I like yoruichi much better then her though. Kido theory is a gr8 bases for fanfictions though it does give you kinda of a blank slate since not to much is known about it and it wasn't expanded apond but I think that sometimes that's done on purpose just so fanfictions are done to see what people come up with cuz I know kubo and other authors read fanfictions of their own manga/anime and there's some vary well written and thought out stories so I believe when something isn't quite expanded on in a series that it's done purposely sometimes to have fans use their imaginations and write stories and make theories so authors can see what their fans come up with. It's as close as your going to get to being apart of the anime/manga without actually helping with writing it yourself especially if the author writes you, pm's you commenting you on your story which is really cool. Could have had one of the Zero squad members as ex-kido corps, what did Hikifune do again? She could have been this super OP master of kido, and at least justifying the "Zero squad > entire gotei". As it stands, Ichibei was stronger than all, but other 4 were weaker than current captains.
Also, I love Tesai but he didn't see any play. You'd think Urahara would bring the best kido user with him to boost that gate at least, but nope.
