1:08 Mega Lopunny WAS actually used quite a bit, iirc. It gets a huge speed and attack boost along with the ability to hit ghost types with fighting and normal attacks. Which was convenient, since that meant it could counter Mega Sableye. People would run Mega Lopunny with high-jump kick and either snap the opponent in half or watch their lopunny’s spine snap in half if they miss.
In fact, it was used so much along with other strong Megas and buffed Pokémon, that Cofagrigus rose to OU status as an extremely reliable counter to it, Mega Medicham, Mega Heracross, Azumarill, and others.
I suspect it might be a side-effect of pokémon designers trying to make Characters moreso than magical animals, giving them more personality and identity to stand out.

1st while mimey and Dahlia Ketchum are definitely together, Ash gave mimey to Dahlia, so he's not his biological dad. 2nd, we do actually know he's human on both sides, just not fully as one of his ancestors is a Lucario, which is why he has aura powers. So he's not half Pokemon, but he's still part pokemon, closer to one 16th.

The main issue is you can't properly communicate with them, they don't pass the Harkness test. Telepaths with human level intelligence are fair game at least, although if you raised them from an egg... yeah that's got other problems. That and if you own the pokemon, keepin em locked up in a ball n shit. "Oh but they chose to freely" yeah, ok Shield Hero.
As a fan of both, at least pokemon doesn't have (or at least is negligible) doujins of 1st stage evos. The amount of Guilmon, Renamon Gabumon, or Agumon doujins I've seen is concerning.
To be fair, it’s not a problem with the bipedal Pokemon in general, it’s just that some of them have body proportions that make them look too much like humans in fursuits. Like Nidoking, Golem, Tyranitar, and Baxcalibur are bipeds but nobody has problems with them because they’re clearly animals/monsters.
Even then that's an arbitrary complaint to make when we had the Hitmons since Gen 1. I get wanting more monstrous mons, but saying more humanized ones don't fit is a bit revisionist.
