As a Czech person myself I did not expect there would be a square named after our historical hero in Israel. I knew that Czechoslovakia and Israel have a history together but this makes me proud.
We also have a kibbutz named Kfar Massarik (Massarik's Village)
@kubaworlapim9166 there's a love between the 2 countries.
Yala bye 👋.
😇🥰
I love your country! love from Israel
There is a street named for him as well in Jerusalem.

Greetings from Czechia, love the story of the Tel Aviv duck, the humor behind it is very czech
As an Israeli, I love czechia so much, not only because it is such a beautiful country but because of its historical relationship with the news and with Israel. I can lecturer on that... I teach that to my children and as a family we enjoy traveling to countries where we are respected and loved. Thank you my Czech friends wherever you are.
@yoramhazan3636 Yoram, you forgot to mention how good their food is as well and the people have great hospitality , kindness and are friendly

Greetings from Prague. I stand with Israel and wish my country helped you more. You guys deserve it.
Shalom, Oren! Ex-Muslim here. Enjoyed this video so much! Kafka was one of many reasons I questioned Islam with his "Jackals and Arabs" flash fiction. You can't mention Prague without mentioning Kafka, but this context really helped me understand why he was so attached to the city. Stay gold.
I´m a Czech who shamefully never read Kafka. I think your comment will finally make me pick him up. So cheers mate!
Can you elaborate on the story, and how it made you question Islam?
(I read it, but I don't get it)
I am sending love to Israel, have spent two wonderful summers in holy land years ago and can't wait to get back. I support Israel as most Czechs do! 🇮🇱 ❤ 🇨🇿 ...watching your videos but did not expect to hear about Prague and CZ, what a nice surprise! 😉
Oren is the smartest Israeli in Israel. I so love all his videos.
Smart has a lot of threads, I don't know if he's the overall smartest, but he definitely is one of the brightest if not the most in his field :)

Thank you for letting us know about it. I'm from Prague and I didn't know about the song which is btw really nice. Large majority of our people and politicians support Israel. 💙
Support to Israel 🇮🇱 from Ireland 🇮🇪. ❤❤
This is certainly heart warming considering how often I hear one Irish personality or another regularly trying to denigrate Israel.
It's all the more appreciated, since you go against the mainstream in Ireland (who actually sent official condolences on Hitler's death, and they haven't changed their minds since...). Good on you for your independent, critical thinking. Hope you get to visit Israel and see how welcoming Israelis can be💙🤍💙🤍💙
Proud of my Czech heritage. Always 🇮🇱💞🇨🇿

I remember, as a child, ten Czech children crammed into our class when Canada welcomed families fleeing the Soviet invasion. We all did our best to ease the transition for them.
I got misty eyed reading your comment. Thank you for helping them 🙏❤❤
Shalom from Prague! Us Czechs love and support Israel very much! There is one more connection that I can think about. There is a very big outdoor/indoor tank museum outside of Prague in Lešany. there you will find the only israeli tank outside of Israel in the world: The amazing Merkava! Every summer when the museum opens I go there and visit the tank. Am Israel Chai!
This video made me happy and proud to be Czech! Thank you!🙏🏽

Hello from Czechia, I was not aware about this song. Thank you for letting me know.
Am Yisrael Chai
Hello from Prague. Israel is a country that I have visited with my wife probably more times than any other country. And I hope to see Israel many more times in the future.
The last time I was in Israel was three weeks ago at the beer festival in HaTachana park, I have a lot of friends there from Haifa to Bersheva and if I had to describe my relationship with Israel, it is love.
I have to say that wherever in Israel I mention that I am from Prague, from the Czech Republic, everyone is nice, they often mention not only Masaryk (I think that the youth in Israel know Masaryk better than the youth in the Czech Republic) but also the support of Israel at this time and the fact that we are probably the safest country in Europe for Israelis.
Shalom Prague Spring (1968)! Shalom Israel! Shalom Franz Kafka

Thanks for your unique way of putting together events that don't at first seem related. Shalom from Wisconsin ❤
You mean the USA: Oren thinks the whole country is Wisconsin 😂
I love that you’re actually from Wisconsin! 🤗
You know Czech history better than most Czechs do - respect.
To @cernejr
People easily forget the past and live in their own present. I have known Poles who have told me that many youngsters have the attitude of, "Grandmom, we don't need to hear one more time how you lived on one potato for a whole week during the bad, old days of communism." They just cannot relate to that world.
@@RCSVirginiaI am 23 years old Czech and I absolutely hate ignorance like this. I am a believer that if you don’t know history, you cannot live in the future. (Can’t describe exactly what I mean) because of that, I love learning about past, even though it was tough. But I think young people like me MUST know in what world have our parents and greatparents lived, because they are the ones who build the good life for us that we have!!

This is one of the most moving, touching and powerful Israeli songs. Arik Einstein was my neighbour in Tel Aviv. Praha is beautiful city. And important Jewish heritage

As a Czech woman, I thank you very much for the praise. 😊 Thank you also for reminding me of a beautiful song that I didn't know at all. I am very sorry that lately, in connection with the war, many Czechs are cursing Israel. I and my house, but we will serve the Lord God, and therefore we love Israel.

Thank you for a very interesting video! Prague and Czechia are very beautiful and people friendly
Greetings from the Czech republic ❤
How lovely to learn that an Israeli paid tribute in song to Alexander Dubchek and his followers who tried to reform the society, economics and political life of Czechoslovakia. Like the East German revolt of 1953 and the Hungarian revolution of 1956 against communism, the events of 1968 laid the basis for the later toppling of communism throughout Eastern Europe once Gorbachev decided to no longer use force to shore up the communist regimes there. Prague is indeed one of the prettiest cities that I have ever seen with extremely nice people and well worth a visit. It should, also, be noted that the Von Habsburgs who ruled Austria-Hungary were judeophiles and very pro-Jewish. So, this support for Judaism and its peoples predates the establishment of the successor states of the empire. In fact, it's one of the reasons why many top Nazis were not particularly fond of the Von Habsburg dynasty.
Unfortunately, it should be noted how history has shown that Dubček was not a good politician. His efforts at liberalization were naïve and unrealistic from the start. Socialism was unreformable from the beginning.
Thank you very much for remembering my country - Czech Republic. Yes, we always were friends of Israel, even if it was not allowed during the communist regime. ( As many other things).
But now we are publicly back again, acting as Israeli friends.
Our country is located for 1 000 years in that big open German mouth so we understand some of the Israeli problems.
Thank you. We are with you.
Souhlas. Naši zemi beru jako klín v německém z.., těle.😏
Oren, your videos are so well done, interesting and entertaining, even the ones about the war. 😅 Shalom from the Galil!
I love my Jerusalem, my home but I love all of Israel my people.
What a great video!!! I know lots of people who have toured Europe, really recently, and MOST of them have said Prague and the Czech Republic, were the best, and they really wanted to go back. They said that there is a thriving art scene and a lot of young people going about life. Sounds like an AMAZING place. I have great memories of Vaclav Havel and his Velvet Revolution as well as his poetry.
Right on - I married a Czech flight attendant 23 years my junior. So physically attractive women in Prague. Tel Aviv is the classiest city in the whole Middle East.
Ani ohevet Arik Einstein❤
Thank you for this tribute.
Would love to hear your take on Matti Caspi and Yehudit Ravitz.
Masaryk was the first head of state to officially visit the Yishuv in 1927. His guide was Max Brod, who later rescued and popularized Kafka's works.
When Communism fell, one of the first steps of the democratic government in the international arena was reestablishing the ties with Israel - a step that was considered as "a display of independence from Soviet Union".
I highlytecommend Martin Wein's book: "A Slavic Jerusalem", which analyzes the many cultural connections between Czechs and Israelis.
Hey, shout out to the Honest Guide guys - love their channel and it helped so much with our trip to Prague :) Prague the city was amazing ... Amongst the highlights is an extensive and beautifully laid out Jewish Museum ... and it was so heartwarming to see the Israeli flag flying on one of the parliament buildings there ... Thanks for the inspiring video here, I had no idea about the song, the singer and about the square and its history. It was also great to meet the duck 😍😍The song is beautiful, Einstein has a beautiful voice - so, again thanks for the introduction, I will be sure to check more of his songs out!
I'm so glad that you are going back to (also) making Normal Israel videos. There is so much for people to see about Israel that doesn't involve war. Memshala and Bitachon are two words I remember after travelling around Israel for 2 months in 1984/1985. You hear (heard?) these words so many times on the radio in the buses and taxis that eventually you knew their meaning. Not sure what you mean about being a Professional in relation to women's beauty, but I agree, the Slavic nations and their surrounding countries have the most beautiful and sometimes the most kind women around. I know because I have been married to one since 1998. Keep the videos coming. We appreciate you and we love you.
I hope you tell that to your beautiful and kind wife. Women need to hear appreciation as much as men feel it’s enough just to show it with actions.
