Your sales guy was not quite up to snuff on this one: there actually IS a water fill in the back that you can connect a hose to in addition to the gravity fill on the inside. I know coz I own a Pocket and am currently camping in it It also has an outdoor shower nozzle it comes with. And please consider that the porta potty concept is basically a smaller version of your regular cassette toilet - except I can actually lift this smaller one when it's full and have zero issues (or messes!) dumping it. I doubt I could say that with a larger, i.e. heavier capacity cassette. I absolutely love my Pocket, including the flex dinette. It's a great daily driver, mobile office as well as all around adventure vehicle. Great things sometimes come in small...pockets! 😁
Scott should have interviewed you! We are definitely like minded… so glad to hear you are having fun in the Pocket. Simplicity above all else and the agility is second to none in the Pocket. No fuss parking in an urban environment and easy to maneuver in tight campgrounds! I guess you could say the Pocket is the “Mini” of the RV world! I don’t think I’ll ever understand the class A set.
Thx for the water input clarification. It did seem strange to me. Mick is really camera shy which doesn’t help that I insist he does the tour with me. APPRECIATE YOU sharing as an owner. Solis Pocket is a very compelling RV. Congrats !
SS I'm another SS and am wondering how you shower if no hot water? I in the market for a camper van, but want to be able to shower inside.
@@stephanieslack3207 Well SS? If you’re insistent, I guess it’s not the right choice for you…the Pocket has a shower hookup in back or you can get a shower tent if privacy is an issue. There are propane water heaters if hot water is necessary. Yes, in cold weather showering outdoors is an issue, however, you can always stay in an RV park which is what I do 50% of the time. Personally, I have a collapsible bucket where I mix regular temperature water with boiling water from the stove…I use a rechargeable shower head and bath outdoors with my swimsuit on. Plus, there are Planet Fitnesses all over the country. Here’s my justification for the Pocket verses the 59P, PX or Travato…you are paying about $35K for the privilege of a shower which you use 3 minutes a day! That would pay for approximately 700 RV parks. I’ve been on the road for almost 3 months, believe me, you’ll appreciate the size of the Pocket…I can squeeze into any parking place and it’s easy to maneuver. Lastly, I suggest you join the Pocket Basecamp Group on Facebook for all their great ideas….you have input from over a thousand members!
Mick wasn’t much of a salesman…there’s so much the Pocket has going for it. As a matter of fact, the one you just reviewed is still on the floor and the one I’m interested in buying. One more week before I get the final commitment from the buyer I have lined up for my house, then, I will be putting a deposit down on that white pocket. He’s on tape saying $80,000. If so, that’ll be mine shortly! Your previous revue of the Solis Pocket from California at LaMesa RV was by far better, just say’n. As always, I look forward to all your videos. Thanks for what you do.
Dan
@Dan Fried You'll enjoy it, Dan, it's an awesome camper van! Great flexible floor plan, too, feels more spacious than many of the bigger vans.
Mick is really camera shy. He hates it when I ask him to help with a tour. Great guy at a GREAT family owned WGO only dealer, so appreicate your patience. Solis Pocket is solid. Give Mick a call and tell him he’s a RUclips STAR and get that unit!
@@gosmall.livelarge Yes, Mick is a great guy! He was very helpful when I visited the Dealer previously, a very low key personality… I’ve done business with a couple large RV Dealers in the past with poor service and like the idea of working with a small, more personal, entity. I hope Mick’s price is in my sweet spot. Thanks for your reply. Journey on!
Dan
Scott, thought you should know…just met with Mick today at Winnebago Motor Homes in Rockford. He kept his “on stream” price commitment at 80K so I bought it! Well, put a deposit down to have him hold it a couple weeks while I close on my house. Met Dad too. Both, authentic individuals and am pleased to be doing business with this smaller and more personable dealership in Rockford, IL. My past experience with other, large scale, dealerships were not pleasant experiences…so thank you for steering me to them. Oh, and by the way, the one you video’d is the one I will be purchasing. Thanks again. Journey on…Dan
Dan!!! So thrilled for you sir. You are taking home the "star of the show". How cool is that! Glad you enjoyed working with Mick and the team. Class act, right!? Looking forward to our paths crossing !
@@gosmall.livelarge I’ll be following your travels and hope we do have a chance to meet sometime. Once on the road, I’ll be heading to The high country in Arizona…eventually, I’ll be wintering in Florida as I’m sure you will be doing the same. Safe travels and pray for some relief at the gas pump!
Modern version of the 70s VW Camper Van :) Looks like it would be a great weekend camper/second vehicle. Mick and the Winnebago Motor Homes of Rockford, IL are great. Highly recommend them.
THAT… Jane… is a PERFECT COMPARISON. Thx for mentioning that .
Hey Mark, great video, we missed you at the Supershow!! We have and love our Pocket! And there is a back water fill.. its a fun, fantastic l'il beast!!
Congrats on your Solis Pocket
It is a cute van. I agree with the huggable factor. Nice weekender.
Yep !!!
Thanks for the video. I’m getting one June 12 and I’m trying to learn all I can about them.😊
excited for you
I want to give YOU a hug!
thx for that :)
This looks so good! Only thing that would make it more perfect would be on the bigger van model because I would need a shower! Love that propane option!
Glad you like. Pocket is compelling !
It actually seats and sleeps 3 in such a small coach. Great little coach.
totally agree with you Richard
I use a compost toilet with pressed pine nuggets and I am quite happy with it easy to clean and easy to get rid of the pine pellets
Thx for sharing Jean
As a SolisPocket owner, two’s company, three’s a crowd. It’s not just for “soccer” games, I travel/live in my SolisGo 3.5 months of the winter. Showers are had at Planet Fitness.
Hi Jean
If they make did on a ford transit it would sell like crazy I bet
Interesting idea Chance
That would be great, but then that would likely change the price point significantly.
but this IS selling like crazy,These are actually very sought after.
And there are aftermarket fixes for some of the “missing” items. If you’ve seen Nick Riebe’s video on Chad and Paul’s channel, he full-times and just about exclusively boondocks in his Pocket - and for hot water he got a propane-powered hot water tank and he hangs it on the inside of the right back door. Cost at Home Depot is just a little over $100. And the big selling feature for us - there’s no TV, no stereo. We never use those things in the Travato. I don’t even know how to use them. No awning or microwave. It’s definitely stripped down. I like that. Tons of storage, fewer systems to fail, squatty potty would work for us. Not gonna lie, I would miss the larger fridge/freezer in the Travato G, but there are aftermarket portable fridges and freezers. Some people put one between the cab seats and put a dog bed on top for their pup!
Thanks for your points as always Trish !
This one would be perfect for me and my 2 doggos to travel and work from the RV!! I wonder if the driver's seat rotates around? You could use the seat behind it as a leg rest while working.
the Solis Pocket is a nice rig. I think the cab seats spin around
both front seats spin around
I really like the Solis Pocket but I need a shower and hot water. I keep trying to convince myself, I rig a shower and hot water for six months a year. 🥴
Good point. I can do without a shower in the Van actually. The toilet 🚽 is my no-go on the Solis Pocket.
Oh so cute and short-
Perfect for those who camp exclusively where bath houses are available
just the thing for young family of three or those of us old enough to be back in diapers! LOL
Hi Cathy!! I think you are right. I jsut want to hug the darn thing
I really like it. If hot water is needed just heat some on the stove. I have been interested in this one, so thank you for the walk through!
Sandy. I already have an immersible/rechargeable shower head and collapsible bucket. You are correct, heat the teapot up to high, mix it with a few gallons of water from the holding tank an voilà!
Hi Sandy. The Solis Pocket is very compelling to me and other for many reason. I don’t think hot water is that important if now showering. No SP shower, no problem. Other places to shower. However, the toilet 🚽 situtiaon is a no-go for me
@@gosmall.livelarge that’s so funny because I was thinking twice about the No shower but the toilet didn’t bother me. Lol!
@@gosmall.livelarge why, would you rather have a black tank in the rig?. The black tanks really smell in hot weather. With the porta potty you can empty it every 3 days and when you spray it down after each use with vinegar, there is no smell.
This one is great for folks who want to be on the go but don't have to go....lol.
LOL.
there is a toilet under the seat. I'm not understanding why people think there is no toilet in the Pocket.
The holes in the gate are for airflow and weight reduction.
thx for sharing
Looks great. Ok so there is no way to have hot water out of the faucet?
do not think there is hot water in the Pocket. hitting a price point
If you need hot water out of the faucet, instead of a tea kettle, you need to stay in the comfort of your home.
Hot water out of the faucet 🤦♀️, stay home where that happens.
Just so you are aware both the grey and fresh water tanks are located inside the van above the floor. The pull handle he points out in the back is actually the valve for the grey tank not the fresh tank as he said…
Thanks for pointing that out
Great but we need AWD. THIS WOULD BE PERFECT But we ski and need AWD.
Totally get it. Thx Joe
Did we miss the bed conversion review???
Nope. See the bed conversion in the Solis 59P … ruclips.net/video/lYHhRKTvzuU/видео.html
Nahhh you could outfit your SUV mini van with same systems via Coleman camping gear etc and pocklet some serious $$$$$
Okay Ken !
No thanks! I tried camping in my dodge caravan with my dog. My bed or cot was super comfy but the fact I couldn’t stand up and had no amenities like in the Pocket was a fail. Can’t wait for my Pocket JUNE 12/23
Wow that's expensive for no hot water and no bathroom!!!
Perhaps you are right. But a bargain compared to Camper Vans with hot water and a bathroom
@@gosmall.livelarge very true for the times we're living in now. You used to be able to get a Travato for that $100K or less
If you need hot water, other than from a tea kettle, stay in the comfort of your home.
@@jeanroeder5534 naw I'll stay in my motorhome that comes with those conveniences smart @$$
Transporting a canoe… haha, sure.
LOL
oh yes you can
wow -- ZERO counter space
