I use to play this song for my one and only son he's gone now just 13 but he was the most awesome, loving, sweet intelligent young man we use to dance I love and miss you so much Zion
I truly miss my Mother and she loved her some Pastor Shirley Caesar. I played Pastor Shirley's music while my mother was on Life Support in Hospital. They told me my mother may not be able to hear anything but I say I know she will hear Ms Shirley praying and singing. She did my mother could hear,, cause tears came down her face. Thankfully
Similar, the same is true of my mother, Pastor Shirley Caesar was my mother's favorite female Gospel singer. As a child, she introduced me to Pastor Caesar's special gift of singing. We would sit for hours listening to Pastor Shirley sing this continued until her passing. I am grateful for these memories.

I've loved this song ever since I was a teenager and even then appreciated the sacrifices my parents (especially my mom) did for us girls. My mother only had a 3rd grade education because she was taken out of school to help raise her brothers (the youngest at the time being my uncle Harry Lee was only 3)! Education was very, very important to her and you had to be dying in your bed to get a pass at staying home because you were sick. On her hospital bed before she died she explained to the doctor her only regret was not being able to read. The only book she ever wanted to read for herself was the bible and she couldn't; we girls had to read it for her. The story and longing was filled with such passion that the doctor started to cry, the nurse taking her vitals started to cry and so did I! I wish I could have recorded her to play at every school assembly. If I could play her words for the youth today there wouldn't be any drop-outs!

I will never forget when my mother would wake us up for our early Saturday morning house cleaning chores and my younger brother was brave enough to asked my mother how much would she pay him to mow the lawn. She gave him that "momma" look, walked over to record player located behind the bar and put on this 45 vinyl.
