Simple inlays in plain weave

I had been asked by a few people to share how I make these little inlays on my pieces. These techniques are basic and would be suitable for any loom; 4 shaft, 2 shaft, rigid heddle, etc.

How do you keep the thickness of the inlayed weft from distorting the fell line when doing small solid areas?

What is your drafting order
That's a beautiful piece you were working on. I'm curious about the weft inserts that are on the same warp threads for quite a few picks. Does this cause any density or tension problems?
