Annelise's 1954 Triumph T100 Bobber Custom

  • Shed regular Annelise brought in her pre-unit 1954 Triumph T100 Bobber custom built by Jack from Jackson Motorcycles this week.
After wanting a custom bobber for a long time, and having a fascination in Triumph pre-unit engines, Annelisa knew it was time to build her dream bike, getting Jackson Motorcycles involved to realise that vision.

Love the minimalist look of this bike. So many others claim to be minimalist but this to my eye looks the most genuinely honest bobber I've seen. As engineers of old used to say "it just LOOKS right"

Love the details - the fire-extinguisher oil tank/ battery box, the switch panel, the curved saddle springs, the sympathetic modern bits. Sweet build.

Classic! Beautiful build, takes me back to the 70's. My first big bike, 1968 Triumph Tiger 650, 10 inch over tubes on the front end and short struts on the rear. Way cool, but probably the beginning of my back problems!

This is the best looking and beautiful sounding hardtail Triumph Bobber on RUclips, I end up coming back again and again just to view and hear it. Annelise (as well as her black jacket) is nice viewing too. 5*

Ah, that sound brings back memories. I had a ‘56 T110, the 650cc big brother. They’re a beautiful engine, lovely sound. I like the little oil pressure indicator that’s in the timing case that extends out about half an inch when the engine fires up and the oil flows. Pity you don’t have the original shape tank from the mid-50s, it’s one of Triumph’s prettiest. Nice bike.

there is nothing, nothing better than a vintage bike. i always remember fondly my uncles 1972 triumph bonville 750. beautiful. i have no quarms updating a vintage with modern equipment. these are made to be ridden, not kept in a garage

Love the look and sound of your T-100 Bobber. Great job! I owned a late ‘50’s T-110 Bonneville during college in the early ‘60’s. It was set up as a dirt dragster before I bought it from a friend...it had a chopped rear fender with knobby rear tire, single seat, no front fender, no head light or tail light, 650 cc engine with racing cam and straight pipes, twin ported venturi carbs, deep black color painted frame and tear drop gas tank. I just added lights and a double seat and enjoyed every minute of owning and riding it...except for kick starting it wearing slippery tennis shoes on cold icy mornings...ouch!!! Wish I still had it.

  • @esslar1
    @esslar1 4 года назад

Memories here, too...mine was a 1966 500cc twin, single carb. Torque was astonishing; first time I wound it up, dropped the clutch, it almost went out from under me. Straight pipes, the sound was just like this one in the video.

I had a 67 T-100 when I was in high school. It had been used for moto-cross until 2 strokes took over the sport. I used it as a rider. It had scrambler pipes. It had a blue and white tank. I loved that bike. I went in the military and couldn't afford to keep it. I wish I had it back today.

Had a Tiger when I was a teenager;it was a nice little bike ;not real fast , but holy cow, look at the size of that rear sprocket ! I'm sure its quick enough now, but doubt it would top out much over sixty like that, wound out to beat the band.(mine geared normal hit the upper nineties)

I’m gonna be alone in this opinion, but I actually like the merging of the old and the new. If it’s done well, which is definitely the case here.
It’s a very sharp-looking bike. I love pre-unit Trumpets, as well, and the tear-down and rebuild should give this one a fresh lease on life.
I’m not a purist in any sense, but I respect those who are. I’d have built something similar without doing anything permanent to the engine and transmission. If her tastes change later, she can still do a very nice restoration with that power train.

Triumph is nice bike. My uncle had one and I think it was a late 50s or early 60s. It was parked up and I used to play next to it as a little child. I asked him what he did with it but he does not know where It ended up. I loved that bike and time and again I would dream I'm riding it - even though I don't know how to ride - but always wanted to learn ....

    Tasty!
4:42 Those Triumph side stands eh. After leaving the chip shop at St Mary`s Hill Stamford, forking off down past the Golden Fleece c1980, my mate shot off on his `60s export Bonnie with me checking out his lines on my `76 Guzzi factory proddy racer. First left-hander by The London Inn, he veered across the road smack into the front of a Ford Granny. Broken foot and a rather dented Trumpet for me to repair. No such probs with side stands on my Guzzis, they popped back on their own accord. Caught a mate out on his MK1, he dropped it in a filling station forecourt....

Another actual build, and a nice one at that! Clean, simple lines, made for riding, not just display! A few more of these actual builds, that don't involve bolting a bunch of aftermarket parts onto a Harley-Davidson oh, and I might consider subscribing to this channel again. But I have to say, my confidence was shattered, and I really need to see you people feature actual bike builds and actual people.

The build was very well executed. I'm personally not a fan of all black paint jobs. Maybe it comes from the lowrider culture I grew up in. The tank and that oil bag are prime spots for custom graphics or art. That being said, I really appreciate that you took your time selecting the proper shade of black w the right amount of flake for your taste and didn't just throw a dart at a bunch of paint samples. Not all paints are created equal.

I bobbed the springer front end and put a 21" wheel on the front. You can bolt on hard tails and can go back to the swing arm later if ya want.
