I love this! We moved into our house a year ago and we have a plain white roller shade in our bedroom and it's so boring. What a great way to add texture to the room! Gunna try this!
What a great idea! And you did such s great job explaining and demonstrating! One question? Did you use a LOW MELT glue gun and sticks or a HIGH/HOT melt one please??? 🙏💕🥰👍😊
That's hot glue, but I also had great success with this method using a spray adhesive: thediymommy.com/make-a-no-sew-fabric-covered-roller-shade/#mv-creation-21-jtr
Great Video... turned out so Beautiful... This video came to me at the right time, I'm getting ready to "FLIP" another RV, and replacing the curtains is going to cost me from $160. to $200. (and that is cheap cafe curtains!!!)... This is such a great idea... LOVE IT... Question: How are the blinds holding up now, since it's been a few years since this video? Thank you for sharing this (beautiful) video... Happy Happy Happy
I was wondering how you do this if you have a very wide blind and need multiple strips of fabric to cover the length of the blind? I wondered about spraying an adhesive on either the fabric or the blind and laying it on that way?
I just did this with quilting fabric, and the shades curl up at the bottom a little when they are in the up position. I can deal with it because they are behind sheer curtains, but this is why you need to use heavy decorator fabric.
Terrific idea. To give it a emf upgrade if you are near cell towers sandwich Mylar emergency blanket sheet in this. Will block 95 percent emf from outside your home coming in. Don’t forget to turn off your wifi inside the house! 😉
What about using spray adhesive to attach the fabric? It would stay smooth. I'm going to try it. Also I wonder how contact paper would work? Maybe even just stencil a design. Possibilities!
Wow - Thank You for sharing your AMAZING IDEA ! I need to need to cover 6 windows in our new AIRBNB without breaking the bank, and YOU just made that possible ! Love it. :-}
Thanks I take it that if you can clue onto the blind i can glue two blinds together to make one large one. Can you suggest what i use to glue the top roller at all
I imagine I can use some type of plastic paper or something else then cloth? I’m extremely allergic n don’t want anything that will trap dust… Any ideas. I’m moving in to my moms 1 bdrm apt to help her she’s elderly n she has a blackout roller shade n a curtain ontop. I’m removing the curtain n would like to somehow change the shade (off white) look to something pretty without having the cost of replacing them. Extreme budget here…
Such a pretty room, you did a great job making it look welcoming. Have you found this gluing method durable? Is the glue still holding now? I've always sewn my blinds in the past as where I live gets extremely hot for v long periods & our UV levels are high all year round, I'd love a shortcut, but I'm concerned that the glue would just re-melt in the sunlight. Regards.
This is such a wonderful idea! I love it so much! I've been trying to think of ideas for inexpensive window dressings in the boys' room-- curtains aren't really working and are getting pulled on! I want to try this!
I love your ideas, design style, and tips for giving everything you make a gorgeous, decorator finishing touch, and you have a great voice for these how-to videos! Just started following you, and thank you so much! I DIY all the time, and I'm about to make lots of blackout roller shades just the way you did! God bless and have a great weekend!
I was picturing having to work with spray glue-so glad to see it’s not necessary! Thanks for the tutorial! Hoping to get my boys’ room looking better for less.
What an ADORABLE guesthouse!!! I love this idea!!! Just wondering if the glue has ever become "re-heated" with the heat from the sun? I live in California and I have a sunroom which faces west and I'm not sure this would hold up... maybe I could modify it using fabric glue??? Thanks for sharing!!! ❤

My roller blinds are looking quite old and tatty so basically I just glue a chosen fabric onto the actual old blind and hang it up?!
Beautiful I love it!!
Thank you! ❤

Great ideas! Let me know how it goes for you!
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but make sure you're NOT using low temp. glue or it might just come loose!
Wow - Thank You for sharing your AMAZING IDEA ! I need to need to cover 6 windows in our new AIRBNB without breaking the bank, and YOU just made that possible ! Love it. :-}

Thank you! they are great for kids rooms - I have them in 2 of my girls' bedrooms!
This tutorial is amazing. I have so many windows in my new place with existing rollers. I have subscribed for life!

Such a lovely idea, thanks for sharing, going to try this in my little guest room xx
Very pretty!
Hi I love it!!! Where did you get your sheers?
Can you use a curtain cut to size or will that be too heavy?
I was picturing having to work with spray glue-so glad to see it’s not necessary! Thanks for the tutorial! Hoping to get my boys’ room looking better for less.
It is a great budget friendly solution!

Thank you! I haven't had that problem in our south facing windows, but I've also used spray fabric glue for these and it works too!
Hi where do I buy the blind (uk)?
Your videos inspire me to try decorating my home. Thanks a million for sharing your gift with us.
That's wonderful! Thanks so much for watching. ❤
I had a blinds company come to my house and quote me $300 a window. Your tip will save me a small fortune! Thanks!
Love it thanks!
Beautiful guest house!!
I LOVE the black and white colors! Where did you buy the black out shade? Home Depot? Or any store like that? I'll have to give that idea a try! :)
Thanks! I found this one at Walmart and it was really easy to alter the size to fit my window.
Thank you so much! :)
Love the makeover!
Thank you!
Great idea, Thanks for sharing
Thank you! ❤
love it!
Thank you! ❤
Great Vid. So, you do not have to glue the mane part of the shade, but just top, bottom and sides?
Thanks
