Make them with the uncooked shells the day before and then cover them and keep them in the fridge overnight and when you cook them they come out perfect
My wife is one of the greatest cooks on the planet. Can’t wait to have her watch this video and make some of these. They do look incredible. She loves to cook and try new things.
That's awesome, Hussey! I'd shotgun about 5-6 of those shells before anyone heard the bang! Thanks for testing both methods. That was really helpful. Have a great rest of your weekend.
I've done these at the "Lab" several times now with different ingredients and they have all been good. Definitely more cheese makes them better. Last set I did was Hot Bass Farm Sausage, pepper jack cheese, meat church VooDoo and diced jalepeno's. Wrapped with Neese's bacon and Meat Church Hot Honey Hog on the outside. 1 hr on the Large BGE and 15-20 minutes with glaze. Some with buffalo sauce and the others with typical BBQ sauce and they were all very tasty. The buffalo ones were really good! The vinegar in the buffalo sauce took it to a whole new dimension! Can't go wrong with any combination. Very hearty and filling. They will fill you up quick.
@@thehungryhussey That's what I did, made them the day before and they were great. Only crunch was where the pasta was exposed form no bacon coverage on a tip or two.
Holy Cow!! (...or Holy Smoking Shells Batman, err...I meant Hussman!!..) never even heard of these!!! Looks amazing and can't wait to try these!!!! Interesting looking recipe to say the least. Thanks for another great post. Keep them coming !!! God bless you and your family, and have a good day
I've just made a batch. Can't wait to get them in the smoker! I used a jerky gun to stuff them with. By far the best way I've seen to get the stuffing in the shells!
Wanted to jump through the screen to eat those shotgun shells!! The filling inside those shells along with the bacon wrap would convert anyone to eat these. You can wrap a cinder block with bacon, smoke it, and it would taste like a million bucks!! BACON, BACON, BACON. Another great cook HUSS! 👍😁😊
Making them the night before and letting them sit in the fridge overnight is the trick. It softened the shells perfectly before smoking but not to much bc I prefer a little bite!
You are so funny. Not blowing smoke up your ass. You're the real deal. Hell, last week, I promised my family I'd griddle. Sunday afternoon comes and I'm out back watching all of your shows when my wife comes home, walks to the back and sees me. Nothing cooking and says:"you said you'd griddle today!!!" My rendering is much nicer but she wasn't feeling me. I tried to explain that I was uh learning from Hussy. So it's your fault Hussy! Ha!
I'm going to try these again I was not a fan the first time but I will parboil this time also saw someone cut them in half after the boil making one biters
They were. I've also heard to place the shells in the fridge for 4 hrs works too. However, if you don't have that much time, this is good. The un-par boiled wasn't bad either, honestly.
I made these a few months ago and they were awesome! #unclestevesshake They way I filled mine was made it into a roll smaller than the hole, then press both ends. Good job Matthew, yummy for sure! You should try Good ol' Boys Candy Bacon Rub on them, or just on bacon.
Hey Hussman!! Total success on that cook! Can’t wait to try those shotgun shells!! I noticed Maggie several times. Also, did you wash those shells down with some Cheerwine?
Hey HUSSEY! Could you maybe do more with smoker? I’m talking like all of it. How to adjust your controls to get the temp you need without snuffing coals out or getting to hot. That’s something I just cannot get figured out. I have a Weber grill and you can smoke with those grills too so I’m told. But I love to do slow cooking on it because I love the smell and process of it but I can never get how much coals to use for what I want to do or get the temperature right without either snuffing out my coals or burning them up. It’s always a hit and miss with me lol. Just an idea anyway. Love your channel. Thanks for all you do! You’re AWESOME!!
I tried to do this yesterday. It tasted great but the noodles were too hard. I let them sit in the fridge for about four hours wrapped in stuffed. If I do the par boil how long do I cook the pasta for?
There's a link in the description. Also below - Cackalack Sauce - store.cheerwine.com/merchandise/cackalacky-sup-r-sup-cheerwine-sup-r-sup-sweet-sauce.html
I like that idea. Speaking of more cheese. How about all cheese? It works for enchiladas. Hey, Italian enchiladas. Otoh, I can imagine shrimp chopped up with cheese, too.
Make them with the uncooked shells the day before and then cover them and keep them in the fridge overnight and when you cook them they come out perfect
Love the shotgun shells. I use my jerky cannon to fill the shells. A lot easier and no mess. Keep up the great tips.

I need to give those a try. Both versions looked great and I appreciate you doing this test. Cheers to ya brother!!!!
Thanks for stopping by Troy!
Nice Matthew. Thank you for another great Sunday.
I do mine the same way except I cut a slit in it to fill it. Makes it a lot easier.
That's awesome, Hussey! I'd shotgun about 5-6 of those shells before anyone heard the bang! Thanks for testing both methods. That was really helpful. Have a great rest of your weekend.
Thanks Dan! Appreciate it! Hope you've been well!
Some kind of yummy, thanks for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
The LEM Jerky Cannon is perfect for stuffing the shells! Thanks for the good videos and ideas.
They probably would do well! May have to order a jerky gun.
I make mine up and put them in the frig over night, They come out perfect !!!, Keep the videos coming !!!
I’ve heard of folks doing that too to help soften them up.
You're making me hungry! LOL! Seriously, Great recipe & Video! As always!
Thank you my friend!
Those look fantastic! Your filling ratios looked terrific to me, since the shells actually stayed full during the cook.👍😊🔥
Thanks Bobbi! I was very happy with the results for sure!
Good to see you cookin again! 😁
Looks great. I bet a jerky maker would work great at filling the par boiled shells. I'll have to give it a try.

The sky's the limit with these things for sure! I may do another variation where I sit them in the fridge overnight and not par boil them.
@@thehungryhussey That's what I did, made them the day before and they were great. Only crunch was where the pasta was exposed form no bacon coverage on a tip or two.
I will definitely be trying these over Labor Day weekend. Thanks Hussey
Awesome! You’ll love it!
Another delish looking snack Hussy gonna make me cooking this weekend.
Definitely need to boil them a little bit ❤
You got me wanting to cook up a batch of them now. Looks delicious bud.
I am so going to try that out thank for another great idea. Keep up the great videos
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great lookin shotgun shells Matt! I made these twice last week and they turned out fantastic. Great video brother 👍
So awesome, Mr Hussey!! Makes me want some stat!!!! Nice work! Appreciate the comparison too!

I LOVE smoked Shotgun shells, but never tried par boiled. next time I make some will defiantly par boil first!!
Bacon yes!!! Thanks for the video HH.
Thanks Christopher!
Another great one hussey! Always looking forward to what you come up with.
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the kind words!
Dang Hussey! Those look great!
Thank you my friend!
Those look easy and good! I’m doing a couple of these in zucchini as I’m doing keto. Making regular for the family!
Sounds really good!
Bro!! That’s some great lookin Vittles!!
Appreciate it!
Love your channel...😎
Thank you!
I had not heard of shotgun shells before with regards to food but WOW this looks amazing! Definitely going to be making some of theses up very soon ❤️
Thanks my friend! Glad you enjoyed it.

Great recipe thx. You may want to watch a video on how to use a piping bag. Good luck.
Way to go buddy, I just had to wipe saliva off my iPad…..lol, wow looks friggin good. Can’t wait til try them.

Outstanding cook Matt!!
😎👍 Going to have to give-em a try. Looked real good.
Thanks my friend!
looks great, I'll par boil mine when i do them.
I also heard you can sit them in the fridge the night before and that helps.
Hussseeyyyyyy. Nailed it again.
Thank you!
Those are a must try!
They’re really good!
Love it Hussey ! I par boil mine but I use my Jerry gun with the snack stick tube to fill the shells. Super easy ! Happy cooking brother!
Best chef on you tube hands down..keep up the awesome video
Wow, thanks!
Have a blessed happy Sunday my friend you and your family🙏😀
Thanks Gene!
I tried them yesterday YOU ARE A MASTER CHIEF delicious thank you
Looks amazing. Gotta try this one sooner than later.
Man oh man I know what I'm making this weekend. They look perfect.
nice cook huss. never heard of that before.. :D
They’re getting popular more and more.
Love me some Cheerwine but I have Never heard of Crackalack Sauce. Now I have gotta try it!!!!
It's good groceries too!
I am going to try that but I think I will use my jerky gun instead of a bag. Zip locks are awesome though. So many uses for them.
It's one more item to clean up but a jerky cannon works perfect for stuffing these.
I bet it would. The bag wasn't terrible and made clean up nice, but I think the cannon would work well.
Looks great
Thanks!
Look so good!
Looks absolutely awesome….
Thanks buddy!

Excellent!
Dang, those look delicious!!
Thank you!
winner winner hus!
Thanks Steve!
This sounds yummy!!!
They look awesome. Would like to try them. I wonder if a jerky maker that makes hamburger into strips for jerky would help to stuff them.
I think a jerky gun would work. I don't have one though to test out.
Hey Hussy, those look fantastic. Dont own a smoker. Could these be made on a blackstone
Amazing!
I'm going to try these again I was not a fan the first time but I will parboil this time also saw someone cut them in half after the boil making one biters
These look fun! I would imagine the par cooked pasta had the better texture tho. Nice cook Matthew!
They were. I've also heard to place the shells in the fridge for 4 hrs works too. However, if you don't have that much time, this is good. The un-par boiled wasn't bad either, honestly.
@@thehungryhussey Thanks for the feedback sir!
I tried these a month or so ago. And, of course no stores in my area has Manicotti. So, I used lasagna and rolled them like that. It turned out good.
Those look awesome Hussey!. Need to try these for sure, will it work on the griddle?. Cheers my friend
They have to go into the Refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours or more to soften the shell!
After they have been prepared and before smoking
Need to use one of those jerky guns . They have different tips .
👍
Definitely gonna try this, think I can do it on my Pit Boss pellet grill. Would it be 275 degrees as well?
Question:. Can you kill weeds with that grill lighter? We have sand spurs and they are everywhere.
For a pellet grill smoker should I still do 275
Yep.
What are the gloves and where do you get them? Thanks

Looks like Big green Egg accessories from the Ceramic Grill Store !
This is actually the “Eggspander “ from BGE. Very similar to the AR.
Stuffed seafood shotgun shells next please . Keep up the great content!
That sounds good too. Like a crab stuffing filling?
@@thehungryhussey crawfish tails in Cajun sauce .. anything really.
Hey Hussman!!
Total success on that cook! Can’t wait to try those shotgun shells!!
I noticed Maggie several times. Also, did you wash those shells down with some Cheerwine?
Thanks Dan! THey were great and certainly washed it down with some Cheerwine brother!
Might want to use a Jerky Shooter with the sausage attachment!
Honestly, the bag wasn’t bad at all.
How long did you par-boil the pasta?
Hey HUSSEY! Could you maybe do more with smoker? I’m talking like all of it. How to adjust your controls to get the temp you need without snuffing coals out or getting to hot. It’s something that I’m wanting to do more of for sure.
Here’s an idea, chicken wings and maybe a whole chicken and of course a beef brisket lol
I tried to do this yesterday. It tasted great but the noodles were too hard. I let them sit in the fridge for about four hours wrapped in stuffed. If I do the par boil how long do I cook the pasta for?
I've heard the sit in fridge works well, but I think some go over night. I par boiled for 90s. Some folks split them to fill as well.
@@thehungryhussey Awesome thank you so much. Love your videos by the way
when using the uncooked shell u need to let them sit in the frig for at least 4 hours to over night and then they r soft...
Someone noted earlier they did 4 hours and they were hard. Not sure. Mine were not that bad either way. Though I liked the par boiled better.
How do I get my hands on that sauce?
There's a link in the description. Also below - Cackalack Sauce - store.cheerwine.com/merchandise/cackalacky-sup-r-sup-cheerwine-sup-r-sup-sweet-sauce.html
If you have a jerky gun, use the meat stick attachment to fill shotgun shells and jalapeño poppers.
Those would work I bet! I don't have one though. 😔
Hussey what gasket is on your egg?
That’s a Rutland.
Those look delicious brotha!!! Take some Popeyes dirty rice with the cream cheese, meat, and shredded cheese...Yeah buddy!!!
So who won boil or no boil? Or did I miss it?
I wasn't real obvious, but did note the par boiled was the better one.
So is the parboliled better or not?
Parboiled for sure..
I smoked some and the manicotti was hard af
That looked mighty interesting and very tasty. Thanks for the video and GRODDLE ON DUDE, even though you didn't GRIDDLE these.
You bet. Next week will be a Blackstone cook!
Try it again Hussey, but next time add a little of the BBQ sauce into the stuff mix. I think you'll love it even more.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMN HH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks pal!
Never tried them but after watching I will have to.
Thanks KC!
How long did you par boil?
90 seconds
I like that idea. Speaking of more cheese. How about all cheese? It works for enchiladas. Hey, Italian enchiladas. Otoh, I can imagine shrimp chopped up with cheese, too.
