When Blackstar killed Lionblaze I thought maybe this was an au until he woke up at the end and I realized that he was having a nightmare about losing his self control and becoming a monster like Tigerstar or Brokenstar
Blackstar is easily one of my favorite characters in the entire series. He was dynamic in the fact he changed from being bad to good, but at the same time, he was still easily manipulated. But he was always great to read! Really saddened me that he was replaced with such a wishy-washy leader like Rowan.
hmm, the fact that Blackstar has a nightmare about killing Lionblaze and Firestar post the Great Battle made me stop and think more about how Blackstar must feel about Firestar. From what I remember in the books (It has been a long time so I may be off the mark) I think Blackerstar's general vibe towards Firestar was irritation at him for being overbearing and nosy, but mixed with respect. Then after Thunderclan attacked Shadowclan, he had genuine beef with them for going back on their agreement and killing his Deputy. But like, now I'm thinking about how Firestar was a main player in stopping Brokenstar, Tigerstar, Scourge, and then Tigerstar again. And I wonder if Blackstar felt secure as Shadowclan's leader because he knew that if he ever went off the rails, then Firestar would be there to stop him. But then, after the Great Battle that safety net, so to speak, was gone. And with what already happened with Sol, Blackstar knows he's fallible and dang it he really needed Firestar around if just for his own peace of mind! HHHHHHH considering stuff like this is why Blackstar's one of my favorites!!!
It’s sad to think about, firestar who Blackstar seemed to respect was killed by the guy he swore not to be. He also seemed pretty sad when Firestar died in DoveWing’s silence :

@@bluesheep7 I think what they mean is that Shadowclan seems to be destined to be coerced/overtaken by outsiders/not so good cats; Tigerstar in arc one, Sol in arc three, and then Darktail in AvoS. Blackstar also indirectly caused Darktail’s reign in a sense by choosing Rowanclaw as deputy, who, in turn, is what caused enough of a failing in Shadowclan’s system that Darktail was then able to take advantage of (but yeah, I feel like, if Blackstar was still around he may have seen the writing on the wall when Darktail showed up, gotten flashbacks to what happened with Tigerstar and Sol, and wouldn’t have put up with Darktail’s BS)

I remember watching some of these parts RELIGIOUSLY including the part at 0:33 it's just so smoooooooooth like buttah. It's so satisfying when a MAP is finally completed. This song really does fit Blackstar quite nicely. I'm surprised there aren't more maps focused on HIM-usually the maps are centered on ShadowClan as a WHOLE, but it's nice to see some Blackstar love. He's A GOOD BOI. And was a FINE leader for ShadowClan. For once. And all the parts are SO good.

In my opinion from watching WAYYYYYYYYY too many MAPS. I’d say that Blackstar and Sol are my favorite duo by far, I just generally love it and their dynamics. Also the fact that Blackstar is named that but he’s mostly white is just funny.
i believe its mostly about blackstars leadership and the hardships he went through, the parts where he kills lionblaze and firestar is to show what would happen if he lost self control, and he doesn’t want to. id say most of this is just blackstars rage at the past and fears, as for he wakes up at the end. he just doesnt want to be like the past shadowclan leaders, brokenstar & tigerstar

Blackstar was a very troubled cat, he possibly had a lot of self hate. this map shows it perfectly! He was manipulated and a manipulating cat at the same time.

She became leader in Omen of the Stars, and Blackstar was already one for The New Prophecy, that's at least 2 arcs of difference, and he didn't have much lives left when she became leader.

This was beautifully done! I was a bit disappointed with the part which took a bit too heavy on inspiration from a Nightrizer map part- but still a beautiful map.
