How can an occupation for almost 75 years be called a war! Palestine has no army, they have no country they have no citizenship. Wars are waged between either two countries or more, or a civil war in a single country. This is like calling the Italy invasion under Mussolini into Ethiopia a war, it was not a war it was an invasion that resulted in about half og Ethiopians were murdered, it was a genocide. What israel has done dwarfs that because it has been ongoing for so damn long. I am not making small of what Italy did to Ethiopians, I am just putting this into some type of perspective.,

Unfortunately, your view is the minority among Americans. We have been subtly brainwashed by media for the past 70 years. There is a fear in the US of being called antisemetic.
Doesn't it seem strange your view is only coming out now? I knew of the Palestinian's plight decades ago. Intellectuals always knew, but they had to be careful to talk about this. It's only coming out now is because Palestinians finally have access to computers. For decades, we've only been hearing Israel's side for 70 years.

When someone totally denies reality you kind of have to appeal to authority. For example, if Destiny argues Israel is not an apartheid state and things are totally great for Palestinians, you could try to explain all the ways things are bad for them which could take a long time, or point out that all major NGOs say they are. Israel is the government in the West Bank and Gaza but they dont give them voting rights, not will they allow a state. The entire system is designed to suppress the non-jews including inside of Israel proper where they werent allowed to vote until it was obvious they were in a state of perpetual decline relative to the Jewish majority in 67. This creates the split government result Israel was looking for so it can continue to take territory in the west bank, so Israel pulled its settlers from Gaza. The goal is pretty obvious, they want all of the west bank and an underclass of people that work for cheap and will boost the economy as slaves. I'd recommend you go read that book. Norm's representation of it was very accurate. Here is the abstract of a review of this same book, published in the journal "Israel affairs". You can see it's completely inline with Norm's representation, only, ironically, coming from the complete opposite political side:
"The accusation that the Zionist movement had a pre-arranged plan to ‘transfer’ the Palestinian Arab population out of Palestine, and that this took place during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, has been a staple of Arab anti-Zionist propaganda for over half a century. In its most recent manifestation it has been an important argument of the group of Israeli historians - who labelled themselves ‘New Historians’ - who have championed the Arab cause. This article examines the accusations made by leading ‘New Historian’ Benny Morris regarding Zionist ‘Transfer Policy’ in his recently-published expanded version of The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem 1947-1949. It systematically shows how Morris has distorted the public and private positions of a number of leading Zionist leaders on the issue of ‘Transfer’ - from Theodor Herzl to Arthur Rupin and from Chaim Weizmann to David Ben-Gurion. It also places the issue of ‘Transfer’ in its correct historical context in order to underline that this concept, so central to the arguments of champions of the Arab cause, was never part of Zionist ideology or practical politics."
Now, the question is, why did you believe Norm was "misremembering" or "misrepresenting" his book? Benny made no good argument towards that, so you must have just been taking Benny's word, over the direct quotes Norm was presenting. Obviously that was a mistake.

@@OfficialDenzy I've read the history. Islamic and Christian Fundamentalists treated an entire race as second class citizens. Those people decided independence was the only answer and legally purchased land from a group of people that would never recognize their independence.
Their capital was then sieged as Palestinians tried to starve them out, and it was then that Palestinian villages with known belligerents were depleted.
When you *actually* read the history, and not just hear only the parts where only one group suffered, it becomes complicated.
