Godzilla has a similar “lonely king” idea, personally becoming one of my favorite stories

Uh, this defiantly sounds like a VERY interesting story. If I find it, I'll defiantly give it a look.

It's currently in a collection called *Tales of the Wold Newton Universe* from Titan Books, which I used in the video. I also saw it in a mystery anthology once, though I don't remember the name. I don't know if it's available online or not

I was always under the impression that, given the obvious differences in size and species, Kong saw Ann more in the way humans might see a pet, or something along those lines. That's one of the reasons I love the 2005 version, because there's nothing sexual hinted in their relationship. Conversely, this is one of the reasons I don't care for the 1976 version, because, despite Kong being even bigger in that film, it is blatantly obvious throughout that there is something sexual about his attraction to her, and it makes the viewing experience unpleasant for me personally.

Also, these are some videos I would love to see:
-A similar top like this but for Shin Godzilla and the twists you would like for the characters
-Top unmade Godzilla/kaiju films (Godzilla vs. Ghost Godzilla looked so bizarre)
-Top scrapped kaijus (which could be too similar to the previous, my favorite is the Gryphon)
-Top "replacements" in kaiju films, like Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster originally being a King Kong Escapes sequel.
-Related to the previous, Frankenstein as a kaiju, since he was going to fight Godzilla instead of King Kong and King Kong vs. Prometheus/Frankenstein
-And top Godzilla crossovers (Shin-chan, Zone Fighter, Marvel Comics, Batman...)

    That was interesting
BTW have you heard of the book Kong Reborn written by Russell Blackford in 2005? It serves as a sequel to the 1932 King Kong novelization, utilizing the book's public domain status.

Man, your Kong videos are so freaking interesting. I love the way your narrate, along with the choice of music behind them. It makes me think of Bigfoot documentaries in the 90s narrated by Leonard Nimoy. I'm going to have to look out for this book.

I can imagine when the Shadow told Margo they have "work" to do, it meant tracking down Carl Denham for bringing Kong to New York and bringing him to justice.

Yeah, this book highlights one of my bigger problems with Kong being painted as a tragic character the way he is; while we can sympathize with him being taken from his home, given what he was trying to do with Ann, I don't think it was ever the intention of the filmmakers to make him THAT sympathetic.

Ok the one problem I don’t like about this Kong story is that it implies he was “physical” with Ann in a sexual way which is the implication I got from the video.
I think that it’s a disservice to his character in a small way.
Sure he liked her but I don’t think he would do something like that.

    • @teogonzalez7957

I mean, one of the movies that inspired Kong was a (faked but presented as real) movie of gorillas raping women and them giving birth to ape children hybrids. It mainly inspired it in the gorilla + lady in distress= $$$ more than in actual plot, but still.
