We did miss you. Thank you for this video. It's good to see that your plants survived the hot summer. Sorry to see that some of the shade cloth was damaged. The cacti are looking great especially the totem with all its arms. I hope you will be able to make a video of how you graft and degraft the cacti.
Nice update, Ana 😊 No need to apologise, it's not just plants that keep us busy haha. Thank you for sharing with us as always. Have a lovely day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜
Looks like everything is looking pretty good Ana!! And of course now it's time to get ready for winter!! Got a few things to do myself. But ready for the most part . Just love the way your cactus beds have grown!!! They look awesome!!! Great job Ana!!! I haven't used the heat yet. But it's coming! Good luck to all us cactus and succulents people!!! Love the little monstrose lophocereus shotii!!! Great that it's branching!!! Thanks for sharing Ana!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, out to Las Vegas, have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love ,Plants!!! ✌️💖🌵🪴🌻🍀🌷🌾🌸🌴🌱💐🌹🌿🌳🏜😃👍
Thanks Anna iam so happy to see you are back giving us a tour of the cacti and succulent you have been missed greatly❤. I sorry to know that you lost some plants to the hot temperatures but the others still looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing
What a great video Ana. Your plants look so healthy. Love the pot full of fence posts. Also amazing to see how big your seedlings have grown. Must be proud!!!!! Go Vegas!
I am so happy you are doing well. I have wondered, but I know you work and are very busy. Here in Phoenix it is so similar to Las Vegas! The month of October was the hottest on record. Finally now it is cooled down. My plants, like yours, are so happy and coming alive again! I had an Echinopsis 'Pink Party Cake' bloom! Also my Leuchtenbergia principis has bloomed 5 more flowers and my Matucana madisoniorum Pinky Red has bloomed. The heat stopped them but they didn't give up! Your Golden Barrel looks great. Many Golden Barrels here have died in the record heat. So sad!
I’m so glad they’re coming back to life, too! The heat was brutal this year and I heard Phoenix got record heat as well. I’m happy to hear you had lots of blooms lately. Wow, my Leuchtenbergias won’t flower yet. I have 4 of them. I don’t know if they like sun or shade or more water. Lol 😆
yes mine are in sun most of the day. You need to move them slowly. Also a cactus expert told me they like water in summer. I had not been giving mine much water in summer. Once I started they began blooming very well. I just had a 2nd bloom this October with 11 flowers. They have a lovely fragrance too!
Wonderful video! Lots of jaw droppers at all levels and in every direction. That Gymno rack is my favorite because I've always had an affinity for Gymnocalycium. Loved seeing the "old style" regular, naturally colored gymnocalycium mihanovichii growing on their own roots. Thank you for posting, you have a wonderful and well taken care of collection. 👍
I've missed you! Been wondering how you and your collection were doing in this fierce wind. I had no idea it was this bad when I moved out here! Wow! Good to see that you didn't suffer a lot of damage. Hope to see you again soon! xxo
I had a wind related accident too! My prized pachypodium got knocked over and it fell right on its growth point. Thankfully, it was summer dormant from my negligent watering... since the weather has cooled off a bit and it has started raining again, it woke up and let me know that its terminal bud was okay! I want it to branch, just not yet!
We understand Ana, we all have lives to manage. What is it that you teach? Awesome garden. I truly envy your ability to grow such pretty cacti. I'm still learning. TTFN means Ta Ta For Now.
Hi from south Texas, wow ya are cooling down. your plants look awesome. OK on your job, we all have bills and understand how life is. Take care and god bless.
Love to get the tour view of your cacti - it gives me perspective on how I could improve my space as my collection grows. Your little greenhouse seems nice! First frost has already come here in Albuquerque 🥶 Time for energy to go to the seedlings and things under lights inside until spring
Another WONDERFUL video, Ana, I always love seeing your plant collection, all the plants look fantastic! Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed watching. One of my favorites are your Saguaro family, they are so cool, haha! Also, your Echinocereus scheeri is a wonderful specimen and it is quite funny to see the little seedlings that have germinated in the pot. My gues is that there were seeds in the substrate of the mother plants, perhaps still from an older flower/fruit of a past bloom before you got the plant? They do look like little seedlings of E. scheeri, which is an awesome plant to be growing and having flower. Thanks again, Ana, take care and sending you very best cactus greetings to Las Vegas!
My cacti make so many pups. I removed 10 from one not long ago. I removed some from one last year and she's already covered again. I have some that bloom all the time but i don't usually get seeds but pups
@@ZiggySearchfieldCactusI’m not sure of their age. I got them when they were about 4 inches long around 3-4 years ago. But they only started flowering when they were about a foot long.
Oh Bill, it was one of the worst in Vegas. Lots of dead trees and bushes due to the record heat. Plenty of shade cloths helped most of my plants survive. Our fig tree gave us very little fruits this year. The figs were small and dry like prunes. 😕
I know that it was horrible. I was trying to say that your plants looked very good after the ordeal that they had been through. I thought that you were going to loose much more than you did. I am sure they were thankful for your efforts.
My plants have to tolerate the weather here,I have about a 1000 so there's no moving them...train them well it's surprising what they can take...it's still trying to rain...😂😂
Nice collection! I just got 2 of those 3 tier rack and I turn the top rack upside down so I have an edge for the pots. Where did you order the extra rack for the front side.
That is a clever idea! Wish I done that too. For the extra rack, are you referring to the little basket at the side? That was from IKEA. But lately they stopped selling it. I was looking for more.
@ I got my at Target for $24 on sale so I pick up 2. It only work on top rack, I tried the other tier but was too wobbly. It wasn’t made to put upside down? But was fine on top I rather have a lip for safety reason.
How cold do you get in winter? I tried leaving my spengleri ferns in the ground last winter but they died. I am curious if it was the cold or maybe too wet?
It has gone down to 25F here in the past. Occasionally we would get snow but they usually don’t last very long. The ones that don’t fit in my greenhouse, I cover them with frost blankets.
@@CactusCaffeine That's minus -16 Celsius, I think. So my ferns should have been fine last winter but they died. This is really good to know because it tells me that actually it was probably the wet not the cold. Thanks for that info! Very helpful!
This is a nice cactus collection, I love your space, many blessings dear♥♥♥♥
So glad you enjoyed it! 😊 Thank you and cheers! ☕️🌵

Haha. Yes, the desert wind can be rough. And now, winter is coming. Hope it will be a mild one this year. How did your plants do over the summer?
Thank you so much sweetheart Amazing Amazing 🪴🪴🪴🍀🍀✅✅💯💯🌹🌹🥰👍👍🥇🥇💪💪🥰🥰🥰
You’re too kind! 🥰🥰
Your fall garden is looking great!!!!
I like the awning over your slider door, it would make a nice greenhouse frame. Btw nice collection, greetings from sonoma county!
Thank you, and greetings back from the desert! 🌵🙂

It’s nice to hear from someone else who’s also into cacti but in a different growing condition. Hope your winter will be a mild one this year.

Beautiful garden of cactus…. Tfs
So beautiful! Thanks for the tour 😊

Do you plant your cactus in the ground? Can you leave pencil cactus in the ground over winter if you know?
My cacti make so many pups. I removed 10 from one not long ago. I removed some from one last year and she's already covered again. I have some that bloom all the time but i don't usually get seeds but pups
