Just enough to hand a cop registrations and insurance.
I drove one once. I remember it being pretty fast and very loud, and there was ZERO visibility except forward. The only way to change lanes in traffic without fear of accident was to floor it! Incredibly heavy clutch, and with that solar panel front windshield you simply cook on a typical Fla day. Good times. Epic car, but I would never aspire to own one.

Doug, no one can deliver a review as in depth and articulated so honestly & refreshing the way you do, it’s a pleasure watching these. You’re the go to person whenever I’m looking for a vehicle review. Keep up the great work and thank you for them.

@@thisdoesnotsuck5540 plus the 80s was the time period where society got introduced to recreational use of cocaine. And it was a sign of wealth, hence why lambo owners most likely used it haha

I laughed my head off when I heard the comment good one Doug !

I always enjoy your reviews as you are so detail oriented the viewers get a real feel for the car. Bravo.
thanks Doug for mentioning the Alpine Car Stereo Countach poster you had on your bedroom wall. I was the art director and created the concept and directed the photography. When Ford bought Lamborghini and the 25th anniversary Countach was introduced we traveled to Detroit to shoot the first production model to reach the USA. We used a fork lift to place it onto the steel table "pedestal" after building a 60 ft. wide backdrop wall of rivet steel. However, as this was before Photoshop, we got in deep trouble for removing the wheel weights to clean up the rims.

Well you need the powder to be visible inside just in case you drop some when using the mirror - if you know what I mean.
And the interior is a "nose bleed" red.
This car brings back so many memories! I remember as a child I had a hotwheels car that I played with all the time and it was my favorite. It even had a red interior and I thought it was so cool with the white exterior. Then right after I got a Playstation I remember playing Need 4 Speed: Hot Pursuit and selecting this car all the time. I haven't thought about this car at all since then and I feel like I just had a whole chapter of my memories unlocked seeing it.
What a good anecdote! You made me remember good times I had with that game too... Best regards!
The removable mirror is actually to help you with the parking, you can hold the mirror outside the window opening and see what's behind you.

The Countach was THE show-stopper at auto shows back in the early/mid- 1970s. I don't think that the term "super sports car" was used back then, but the Countach was definitely the first that breed, the first to have not only the performance, but also the looks.

Doug, you shared many of my same complaints about their quirks, the rear window visibility, the seat of your pants driving experience, the noise, the pedal cluster roominess(or lack there of) and the headroom, I was 6'9" when I was working with and driving em so my headroom issues were a bit more troublesome than yours but, there's one quirk you didnt mention and that's cuz yours was a rainy day drive. Had it been a sunny day and God forbid one with scattered clouds, you would have bitched to the heavens in your loudest of vocalized prayers, that you couldnt see forward to save your ass either!! The windshield angle and its curvature of -0° gave you an early idea of a F-16 pilot's HUD except instead of vital info like altimeter, heading, speed or angle of attack, it gave you a vivid and vibrant display of
the flat dash.
In whatever color it was and that would, in turn, reflect the streetlights as you sat below them or passed under em, power lines, overpasses, yadda yadda yadda and when the clouds briefly dimmed that reflection, the optic portion of your brain would scream a sigh of eye fatiguing relief only to have those clouds clear a millisecond later and that bright cacophony was back to torture you again. That was the biggest negative factor I could find in any car I've ever experienced (until I drove the Beemer M1) and the one I regretted seeing on the list of cars that had to be picked up at the docks when a local short shipper couldnt be found in time.
Like you, I remembered the poster, like the mechanical equivalent of Farrah Fawcett but, after driving em the scant 20 miles from the docks to our shop so many times, I know how life musta felt for Lee Majors when he'd see that same Farrah poster we did.
That dedication to film in the rain.

Man, it was pouring rain out and he was still acting just like its a normal day and discussing "all the weird quirks and features" of the car. Especially on that 8:36, I broke into TEARS seeing that man acting like its all normal sitting in those nice beige H&M shorts on the dirty, wet asphalt in the middle of the rain just to get the perfect shot of the tires of the car. If that is not dedication to i dont know what is. please reconsider your comment...
Ruslan Nikolaev Oh shit. I couldn't see that... I'm watching in the sunlight with sunglasses on...
We only want to see him filming in the purple rain, lol!
I appreciate your professionalism. That rain didn't stop you and you didn't complain about it :)

True! Good observation
I have a Fiat X1/9 as my first car in college back in the early 80s. The boot release catches were identical to the Lambo and it also had the in bumper number plate light. Mine was the 1500 with the Californian Alloy bumpers which were extremely hard so I found out when trying to drill a hole in them. I also had the double twin exhausts made by ANSA who make the Lambo exhaust. Back then I think Lambo was owned by Fiat so a lot of the parts were shared
