I ordered these same lights because they said they would fit my H3 but they were for a Jeep mainly. I sent them back and put in LED bulbs. Too much work for me but they do look 👀 cool! Nice job and persistence pays off!
You may know this by now but the "glue" on those lenses is just butyl rubber. Preheat your oven to 225 and throw them in for 15 minutes and they pull right off.
The hummer h3 works with ground side switch. It's reverse polarity. So you need to buy the adapter module that goes in between the led plug and factory harness. That will fix your problem
You're welcome! My alignment did the same thing at first. At the very top of your headlights, you will see a star shaped screw that you turn to be able to adjust the headlights position. I also had to flip my headlights 180 degrees because I believe I had them upside down at first.
Put a pair of H2 door mirrors on an H3. It took a bit of "engineering" but I did it...works and looks great. I think its the best non-performance mod you can do on an H3.
@@hummerh3howtos I used the guts of my old H3 mirrors and put them in the H2 replacements. The H2 mirrors have a plastic protruding part at the base of the arm A hole had to be cut out of the mounting base of my H3 so the fit could be flush. If you ever try it may be you could do whatever rewiring it takes as to avoid the "gut exchange" I think I'm the first/only H3 owner to ever do it. I'll post pics if/when I get around to it. But I hope this helps. Great instagram account by the way!
Thank you for the compliment! Surprisingly the light spot lined up really well. Since the new lights are installed on top of the original base, this helped it spot foward.
FYI: you may use anything stronger wires other than the heavy duty zip ties to hold the headlights into place. I avoided screws or bolts because than adjusting the headlight spotlight will be difficult.
the reason why your lights didn't come on when you turned on the switch is you have to put the car in drive for headlights to come on...you didn't have to take the wires out of the plug, that's what happened to me when I installed my lights.
Hummer H3 How-To's . What you did by switching the wires was correct. The LEDS are polarized ( have a positive and negative side ) and the electricity will only flow in one direction. That headlight on in drive sounds like baloney.
So you don’t have to take the wires out of the plug “or” switch them around like he was saying? Thanks for your comment btw, that would have saved me a lot of swearing 🤬 I just got my LED’s for my H3 and hoping to install them today,,, just going over everything once more

Will most likely try this way of installing Jeep headlights, I don't want to pay even more money for adapters
How do you make the high beam work tho? I did everything like the video except how to make high beam work
Ah yes, later I figured out that you have to switch the two out of the three wires directly from the headlight.
That extra wire hooks to your blinker and also makes the headlight work with the hazards
That was a big job. Not going to lie. Got it all together my high beams don’t work or low beams one

I did exactly like you explain for installing the light , but when I finish the alignment not ok ( \ / )like this
You're welcome!

That's great! I would like to see a picture of this mod you did. I'm on Instagram @Hummerh3howtos
Thank you!

How long these light last if bulb burns out the entire unit needs replacing?
Thanks for your howto, nice headlights. How's the light spot after upgrade?

Seen other videos they buy fancy brackets to hold the headlight lol you did what I’m going to do with the zip ties. Great minds! Lol

I have the exact same headlights and the guy you got them from left out a set of wires bro
Thanks brotha. Mine are leaking, just taking apart to clean and reseal them
The ground is not the center pin unfortanetly on that 3 pin. The manufacter has high low pins recersed .
What is the name or how do you order that adaptor to connect the oem to the new plug
Sorry for the late response, but the adapters is called "H4 to H13 Adapters"

That's odd.. I will give this a go one day. Thank you for your input.

Polarity is correct for a Jeep but reversed for H3... There are kits now to do this
Do you know of kits that are available?
Yes this video influenced the kits to be made. This was made before then. You may find the kits on Amazon and in the hummer groups of Facebook.
Led bulbs work way better + a light bar on the grill way cleaner. Cutting up your Hummer makes it look ghetto
Eres #1 gracias amigo
they legit make brackets for these so that you just take your whole headlight housing out
This video was made before anything was made.
where can i find these brackets?
Got it all wrong my friend, You need to buy adapters ,
You need to take this video down. Everything is wrong the way you show it.
