  • As Lyn Larsen once told me , If you have a beautiful instrument to play - keep it clean and simple and the organ will do all the work for you. How right he was.
Here is a simple little piece written by Harold Arlen for the 1939 musical "The Wizard of Oz" that shows off the more gentle side of the organ. It starts with a solo on the Tibia Plena then shows off the French Horn and Oboe Horn in ensemble, and oooooh those strings!!
Just click your heels together three times and ...... well you know the rest :-)
The organ is the pre-release beta version of the 4/32 Wonder Morton virtual organ for Hauptwerk from Melotone Sound Productions. The samples are semi-dry with a little reverb added.

Hi Iain. Thank you for your music!
Im building an organ console, it has 4 manuals and finally I decided to use real stop tabs. I need your advice before engraving the tabs.
Which is your favorite VTPO and which is the most realistic?
    Thank you!

There aren't really any bad theatre organ sample sets out there - all of them are good. My own favourite is the Paramount 450. It does absolutely everything you could ask from a theatre organ.

@@imcg110 Thank you for the quick reply. I was doubting between that Paramount and the Master Works 331 (I was told it sound better, because is made by hauptwerk, althought the tremulants are simulated) my plan was to modify the odf file adding ranks from the 450. However Im gong to follow tour advice.

@@yararaq Unfortunately, it is quite challenging to reuse paramount organ ranks :)
