Hi guys, In this Performance Diana sings The Crow, I have never seen her like this before. Her voice is incredible and the level of creativity is like no other. Well done!
This performance from Diana is just insanely good! It is one of her best performances during this show. It gave me some vibes of "Rechenka" with a with a finishing touch of "Human". No surprise she won this round of the show.
I've also heard the original by Linda which wasn't bad by the way but as always Diana simply took this song to another level. She's really out of this world!
Yes, Diana compressed this song somewhat but that just made it better because the last one to one and a half minutes of the original song were just more or less repetitives and also the intro took about thirty seconds. Diana's version is much more intense and captivating.

My understanding is that in Russian .. the "White Crow" is a term for someone who stands apart from the crowd

Correct. In Polish, too, we call something extremely rare a "white raven". However, there is really nothing about a white crow in this song, though the costumes imply it. There actually is another Russian song called "White Crow" (which I initially thought would be a much better choice for Diana), where the message od uniquness and the difficulties it entails is pretty clear-cut; it includes the black crows dragging the white crow through the mud to make it black. That message from another song may be transferred into this one via the symbolism of the dancers draping a black cloak on Diana's shoulders at the end of the song. Going back to the lyrics, though - I saw one Russian commenter say, that the song "Crow" was evocative of the hardships following the collapse of the Soviet Union. That piqued my interest and I would love to hear more about it from the Russian fans.

That is how I see the song - not a message about being unique, but about finding oneself in dire, bleak circumstances, when life as we knew it has been destroyed (not necessarily on a global scale). There is also loneliness there, the loneliness of being and outsider or being helpless.

When I saw the performance, I thought that choreographers and directors are fans of anime. Very similar to the footage from there)))). And Diana is as adorable as ever. This is especially evident in nature shamanic songs

I wrote about another song "Mom, I'm Dancing" and by the way also "Human" and Anita Tikarom "Twist In My Sobriety" and "Crow" all songs are "dark". Diana "sanctified" them.
I have been watching Diana's performance for 2.5 years (I recognized her in April 2019). ALWAYS all the songs that she sings become hers, she changes them, makes them "her own". I was surprised by the 2nd song in the contest "Mom I dance". Why? I haven't heard it before, I watched the original song (everyone wrote that it was very popular) I didn'T like the "black song", but after Diana she became playful :). I remembered "HUMAN", the same story in the original was very bad in the song "vector of purpose", after Diana the song made sense. And it seems to me that all of Diana's songs (I'm talking about covers), if the song is good like this song "Oh, it's not evening", she, like a sorceress, brings a cut that makes the song shine. If the song or the meaning of the song is "black" it will transform it.
And a separate topic is the original songs written for Diana, there's not a song that's a masterpiece. There are no words.

I saw a review where they showed a bit of the original Crow by Linda .. then a clip from a song Madonna did that looked based on that first Crow. This looks to me like it is a cover of the original with a lot of influence from the Madonna song.
It seems that Linda released earlier than Madonna. And even offended that it was Madonna who took her idea

@@tamaraus9380 Yes. I stated that Madonna based hers on the earlier Crow. I think that while Diana's version is a cover of the original . .the staging was influenced by the Madonna copy. To me that is a fine thing. I myself am a model railroader making a miniature world and I have been influenced by many greats that came before me.
