Thank you Dr. Birdi ad Top Doctors UK for this detailed and informative video. You've explained it so well and professional. My mother is 78 and has to have a valve replaced. She has a lot of issues and have for years now. Your video has answered all my questions and helps me to be knowledgeable on the different procedures. This has somewhat put my mind at ease however, she is in God's hands so my faith is in him. Thanks again. God bless.

What an insult to the medical team that will save your mother!...God's hands did a poor job with that heart valve...the very real doctors will solve the problem. Bringing religious thoughts into this situation is just silly.

My echo hurt cause the tech kept PINCHING my boob, delighting in hurting me. When I asked her to stop, she got really snarky with me. Yeah, I want to finish this but you need to quit pinching me. No changing room was offered me. Just a nasty experience. Then we found out about my aortic valve.
I’m now a week away from TAVR’s. I can’t wait! I’m so excited for the energy that I should experience. And a heart that is working again. I’ve been through being paralyzed with fear and scared. The cardiac cath was my scary day but it all went fine. I’m all good!

Thank god my aortic valve was replaced in June 2024. Luckily I had the valve replaced through my right groin and open heart surgery was not needed!!! I knew I had a choice but not having the operation was actually I felt signing my own death warrant!! So the decision was a no brainer. I’m fine and long may the valve last. Stay safe everyone. And if you need the valve replaced, please do so. You should ok.

Very good explanation thank you, but I don't suppose there's anybody working on a way to actually clean the valve. Instead of replacing.

Very helpful thank you. I have severe aortic stenosis, I am awaiting a TAVR. Feel very tired most of the time. No chest pain at this time I believe my leaflets are opening currently 0.7
I am so very scared I will not live after the operation . I also appear to have got oedema in both legs which is so painful. I am very overweight not sure why as it is not because of eating I am a type 1 diabetic.. I believe I also will need a stent. I am under papworth hospital. Could weight gain which varies between up to half a stone or more over the course of a week be linked .I have had. Rreast cancer twice also on the left side. Papworth are so nice, but I just can’t help but worry about the whole thing, my mum had open heart surgery and was never well again afterwards, heart issues run in both sides of parents family.
Thank you for any support you could offer me in advance. Xx
