I visited Yellowstone 58 years ago. It has really changed. It is much more visitor friendly now. Still, I was beyond impressed with the beauty of the area. And, bears would accumulate at the Northeast gate waiting to be fed by people driving into the park. Now, that is illegal. We also camped outside the gate while waiting for the park to open. Incredible vacation. The Blackhills, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons in 17 days. I will never forget it.
I raised my kids in the mountains, and our community had a Bear Aware campaign, some areas (Southern California) will relocate a problem bear, but not my community. A problem bear would be euthanized. So the saying was, “a fed bear, is a dead bear”.
There was one nut job in our community who fed one of our local bears on his deck. Well, when that nut job was out of town and the bear didn’t get his easy grub, he promptly broke into the nut job’s place and trashed it. The poor bear had been around our community for years, it was a beautiful cinnamon colored black bear, and it’s gone now all due to one nut job feeding it. So, the law stating to not feed the bears is really to protect the bears, cuz bears that get too comfortable with humans often get into trouble ( it’s not the bear’s fault if humans are feeding it, but the poor bear pays the price.
Bears have great memory, all it takes is one yummy treat at your property and they will always remember that location.
Beautiful video here on your new channel. Humans need to be more conscious about animals and their habitats 🐻 ❤️
Thanks Tracy, and we agree with you!
Hello from cold north east Scotland! My husband I got a taste of road tripping from San Francisco to Las Vegas and making a stop at big Sur…and I must say it was a life changing trip and our dream is to get to Yellowstone with our daughter. These videos are so helpful as we really have no idea regarding wildlife that may be a danger so thank you!! Love your videos! They’re keeping my dream alive until I actually visit USA again!
Hello from California. Funny, you long to visit us here in the States, and we long to visit you and your culture.
I am sure you know this, but I will share it just in case you don’t. Most bears don’t want a confrontation, as long as they have their space and don’t feel cornered, they will mind their own business. Be situationally aware, you never want to accidentally sneak up on a bear. I was on a trail here, turned a corner to see a mama bear and her two cubs, I stopped in my tracks and backtracked, notifying others on the trail of the bears. Everything was fine as we (hikers) all held back until the mama and her cubs had moved on.
@@dizzymindy6024 hello Mindy! Thanks for the advice! That’s really good to know. Seeing a bear would be such an incredible experience for us! If you ever come to visit Scotland you must try some decent haggis!! It’s lovely! Don’t let people put you off!! Do you think a road trip along the east coast of California is a good one? Have you done a long road trip in usa with your family? If so what route did you take? ❤️
It's been years since I've been to Yellowstone. Now I'm wanting to take a trip there. Ya'll are amazing and I ❤ your channel.
Hi! Great videos! You both share the birthday of my late mother-in-law, Charlene Carney. She was born 6/18/1919, and passed away in May 2018, just shy of 98. She was an adventurer and traveled throughout the southwest in a Model T, and later and International Harvester wagon. She went camping deep into Mexico and as far north as Canada. An enthusiastic naturalist she new every plant and rock in our corner of the desert, and some beyond. It was nice to know her birthday was shared by fellow nature loving adventurers in one of the places the family fondly remembered camping. Keep on keepin' on!
WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE YOU BOTH LIVE!!! It's so informative and adventurous!! I just love, love, love 💕 watching you two and it makes me smile! Also I love re-watching your videos because it makes me happy!!! I truly love 😘 you both so much because you're THE BEST COUPLE EVER!!! From Tricee in Virginia Beach, VA ⛱️⛱️🏖️
You two are so wonderful the way you talk to us your like old friends showing us around ! Yellowstone is absolutely beautiful 😍 thank you for the tour !!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If you ever come back this way just north of West Yellowstone there's a left hand turn to Quake Lake. Lots of national forest with free camping and a piece of History that'll turn your head upside down.
Glad to see you both enjoy the park, plus as a local, thank you for educating people how act/ behave and enjoy their visit. Excellent tips too! Only adding, the park is for all, but for us locals, this is our backyard, our home, yes please respect the animals, but also the people too. Love watching your travels!
In greatest appreciation, thank you! I am a native Montanan, lived about 100 miles north of the park in Bozeman which is surrounded by 4 mountain ranges. I no longer live there and miss it terribly but thank you for the visit! I do suggest for you to check out Chico Hot springs, south of Livingston, Montana. The history there is rich! Natural hot water pools with no additives and changed daily. Great bar and food too! Best place to soak!
Thank you Connie! We very much appreciate that. Penciling in those places! Woohoo! 🚍🌄

Please more views of surrounding area esp when ur husband stops (6:20) & it looks like water 💦 behind him. Would luv to see that view!!! And that waterfall was soo powerful & wished it was more footage ( 10:24) & of the sounds! Thanx for everything 🙋🏽♀️
Love your video!
Love this video, you are both awesome 😊
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thank you watching!
Thanx for the tour. Enjoy your travels and stay safe. Karen
Absolutely welcome. Thanks for joining!
I do not understand why people think it is wise to get out near wild large ASH animals, stare and approach them. 🤦🏼♀️ This is what my husband tells me is “WPS” (whispers 👂🏻 what people 💩) I tend to approach ponds in FL that have gator signs which is where this acronym originated 😆
I missed so much when I drove through. But it was October. And it was SO crowded. Especially because it was a free day. But I do remember Bullwinkles.
Thanks for sharing Lonnie, yes, it can get really crowded which can be overwhelming.
Im already looking into visiting deadwood, it looks so much fun
Thanks Ada, it was a lot of fun!
Thanks for your video for newbies! Yellowstone is my natural cathedral; recommend hiring naturalist guides or attending classes or seminars w/ Yellowstone Institute, have been following wolves since their re-introduction in 1995; 😕however, deplore WY & MT wolf hunting!!
Thank for sharing! Hope your having a great summer!
Those hot mud pools that smell of Sulphur,we have plenty in Newzealand, but the smell is awful but after a while you get use to it.my birthday is also June the 18th.
Happy Birthday y’all
Thanks Jeff!!
Ok....cool...was thinking this was the Iowa visit....have fun guys...lotsa Yellowstone
Stay tuned! Thanks for watching, Donna!
I was in awe at 10:24 in this video ❤️❤️
Thank you for watching!
You needed to go to the IMAX that was right next to that the wolf Discovery center with IMAX is so exciting you will
Common sense should tell you to keep your distance, unfortunately some people just don't use it.
Have to agree and we certainly saw a few folks getting close to wildlife that made us very nervous.
Brother Buffalo is Sacred ❤
Cute picture of the bear with that container
Thanks Cindy! Yes, that was very cute to see!
Thats nice the Grizzli's let you stay there..
Absolutely love Yellowstone. Went there several times as a kid. People are just stupid for no reason. These are wild animals not pets.
Bison not buffalo.
The biggest mistake people make is getting out of the vehicle,on the side of the road. They end up getting killed by a bear or get hit by a car. And wolves run in packs. You might see one, but you might want to look behind you. love your waiter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
