    Very pretty painting. I love it.
    When I am painting anything, I tend to ‘wing’ it with regards to the colours I’m going to use. I see many artist who choose their palette carefully, but I use what looks right to me. So we’re all different in how we approach our art. But as long as we’re enjoying the process, who cares what we do. 👍😃

    That is so lovely and charming, I want it on my wall sooo I guess I will have to give it a try. It doesn't look difficult at all, just a lot of well place strokes, and color of course. Color is taking me awhile to learn what looks good together. I've never been a 'fashionista' even in high school. However, with knitting and crochet I have learned a lot about what looks good together....things I would never have paired up together but in wc isn't quite translating the same for me. Over thinking? Very possibly. Thank you for sharing this piece, Diane.

      I know exactly what you mean Kathy. I use “already existing” art to guide my color choices, it’s not a gift I have either to know what goes with what. It’s more a question of balance, as almost any color will go with any other if it is in the right place and amount xx

    As a life long acrylic painter the need to try something new kind of hit me this past long winter. I found your lovely channel end of March. I noticed that my favorite videos (whilst binge watching) you painted with the Kuretaki paints. I had been trying my hand at watercolor with a very cheap set of watercolors. But wanting "something more". So I ordered the full 48 and started painting with them April 6.
    I have painted with the Kuretaki everyday, even upping the paper quality a little as well.
    I LOVE these paints far better than gouache. I am able to blend most times as long as I pay attention to the water. Honestly, I can't tell you how I do it, just happens when I need it.😊
    All this to say... THANK YOU for your videos and encouragement❤ I am having the best time painting in a very long time.

      @DianeAntoneStudio  Месяц назад

      That is SO good to hear! Some people have wondered why I am so enthusiastic about Kuretake paints and you have described it perfectly. (There are other brands of Gansai Tambi, and they are also good, just not so widely available…) Using them has also broadened my ability to paint with regular watercolors too. Gouache can be very “dead” in a way - ideal for surface art for reproduction and printing on products etc, but it doesn’t have the life of watercolor. Glad you’re enjoying it!

    • @dh7217
      @dh7217 Месяц назад

      @DianeAntoneStudio One last thing...I now have 45, completed detail , little 5x8 paintings on 300 gm paper. With another 15 in progress. And I just realized that the Kuretaki paints are the watercolor equivalent to acrylics without a lot of hassel. Much easier to set up and put away than the acrylics.
      I am by no means a good painter but it is an awesome discovery at my age. I will have to start replacing the individual colors in another 3 weeks at this rate. 😂

It sounds intriguing... I've been experimenting with painting my shadows in first and glazing over it. ❤😂 fun times.
