Fun non-spoiler Kyoshi details (from Kyoshi Novels): she was 7 ft tall/she lived to about 270yrs/her mother was an air bending master turned criminal/she was abandoned but raised under the roof of Avatar Kuruk's companions as a servant. She did wear very bulky gloves to cover her scared hands after a nasty run in with a highly talented fire bender. Even when not in the avatar state she could earth bend mountians but not small objects which is why she started using the fans.
Kyoshi died when she was 230, not 270. She was taught the secret of immortality which was the ability to basically repair any molecular damage caused by the aging proccess. And she could bend small objects... she just was not very good at it. And Kyoshi Island was also created by her, since she separated it from the mainland. Also, Kyoshi was bisexual, including having a girlfriend from the Fire Nation, and fought very hard for the rights of people with a divergent sexuality on the Earth Kingdom, but had little success in doing it due to the Earth citizens being rather uncompromising.

I'm actually enjoying this show a lot. The acting is great, the story is perfect like the original. Remember how slow the rocks moved from the Earth benders in the film? 😆
I wish everyone would Stop Complaining & Compairing it to the Anime. It was never going to be exactly like the anime episode per episode. Just enjoy the live action of it.
I am so disappointed not one of you three recognized Kumiko, Daniel san's old flame from Karate Kid 2 & Cobra Kai playing the female boss of the village. The actress Tamlyn Tomita is also part Filipino.
I kind of enjoy the show, but there's one thing that bothers me: the acting of the young cast. Gordon for example is about the same age as Walker in Percy Jackson, but if you compare their face expressions or how they deliver their lines, that's really a big difference in my opinion. I don't know if that's a lack of talent on Gordon's side or just worse directing and teaching, though.
Huh... I'd say Gordon's acting was good and it felt more like the direction for him wasn't right at times. The kid that defo needs to improve their acting is Kiawentiio. It's harsh but she felt really stoic too many times. Hopefully they get renewed and we see her improve. Especially since we see her in so many interviews and she's so expressive in them. I wonder what the direction was for her in the show
