That title is nuts and I love it. You really know how to get our attention. A shame some people can't take a joke. I personally think this show is great. It may not top the cartoon, but it's got plenty to enjoy. Also, Iroh is still the best character.
is it just me or does it seem like Katara doesn't have as much personality or fire in the live action. I remember her being a lot more headstrong and angry in the cartoon
@@sortastupid that could be true i'm only on episode 4 but specifically i was thinking about the water whip scene. The reason Zuko says “can’t be” when he sees Aang is because he expected him to be an old man. That’s a piece of dialogue they didn’t include from the cartoon.
We have thousands of dollars in sound pads. The entire wooden false wall behind us is also sound pads. We're always looking to reduce the echo but it will always be more noticeable on RUclips because we have to have the show quieter then we do on patreon. Just a balance. Only way to stop the echo 100% would be for us to watch the show really quietly and thats just not worth it in our opinion due to how minor the echo currently is@@etamm1343
They didn't say it was better than the cartoon though. They say it was better than the anime... which doesn't exist. (Which in case you don't understand, it was meant to be a joke. Those within the avatar community throughout the years would have known this)
Well that's a wild take. One, it's not an anime, it was made in America. Two, I wouldn't say this is better, or even as good as the original, but it's still good. The effects and visuals are clean, I love the air temple raid scene, and some of these casting choices are perfect. Zuko sounds almost just like the original VA.
@watershipup7101 anyone with half a brain can understand we're joking lol Not everything needs to be spelled out for everyone on the internet with no sense of humor
I'm glad you guys are enjoying this. I enjoyed it as well. it IS a roller coaster ride tho. some genuinely great moments.. as well as moments that fall flat.. but overall, I enjoyed the different perspective as well as the nod backs and references.. and if you JUST watched the Shamaladingdong version yesterday then YEA, you GUNA like this lol.
So after watching episode 1 for myself… the fact that they made the invasion the same night Aang left takes away from people thinking he ran away. Remember the public knew Aang ran and escaped his responsibility as the Avatar. If the invasion happened the same night, people would just assume he was among the first to die. Other gurus would assume he went into the Avatar state and died thus cutting off the life cycle. It reduces Aang’s guilt and sense of forced responsibility if all this happened in one day.
The "better than anime/manga" is kind of a meme, I think what they meant is the previous movie, which is also what they mention in the beginning, so no need to overreacting as soon as the video dropped
I don't know what scars you guys have seen in your lives, but Zuko's 'scar' looks like a weirdly clean bruise to me XD And I don't know who told you the creators were involved in the Shaymalan movie, because they were pushed out of trying to course correct it, just like they walked away from this because of creative differences
Im shocked they could mess up Zuko's most crucial character trait so badly. He was a child who was blasted directly in the FACE with fire by his own father. It's literally his biggest trauma, and STILL this show tones it down.
@@alyssabullock6421 this just shows that you didn’t watch the show. His scar is still a HUGE part of his trauma and character. I’m guessing they just toned down its looks because they didn’t want it to be distracting. I mean sure, I also would have preferred the scar to look more like a scar but its appearance doesn’t take away from the impact it has on the character.
The title is the reason why I love y'all😂 It's so funny seeing people cry over it. I'm enjoying your reactions and can't wait for you to see all episodes!❤️ Literally cried so much when they showed how the airbenders were kill*d😭
if I had a complain, it's the writing. there is a bit to much "tell, don't show", like the scene with Aang and Appa where Aang explicitly tells the audience exactly how he feels, because that is totally what a confused 12 year old does, right? his acting and delivery wasn't great either, but I can give that a pass since he is just a child actor. I'm also not quite sure how I feel about frontloading the entire start of the war. sure, it doesn't really matter to those who watched the animated series, but I think for the non-initiated it might be better to leave things in the dark and slowly uncover the past over the course of the series.
i actually like aang's actor a lot, he really gives you that inocent and chill vibe the character needs. . .at least when the script actually let him instead of only opening his mouth to explain his exact feelings and the plot to the audience
when i saw how sokka willing to give up aang i was kinda disappointed but when i think about it he has no other choice imagine u have to take care your entire village at such a young age with all that responsibility while your father is out going to war and your mom past away I can't blame sokka and that talk between sokka and katara, sokka is in charge and has to do whatever it takes to save his home and when katara said that there mom said we have to protect those who can't protect themeselves I love that part because you can see sokka doesn't want to give aang to zuko and remember in the original sokka barely remembers his mother but whenever katara yells and help sokka he saw katara as there mother and u can see it through his eyes in this live action
My only gripe with episode 1 is that the airbenders actually put up a fight during the genocide. The firebenders are supposed to be OP (literally the "power of a hundred suns") and easily wipe them out.
wtf no??? they totally put up a fight in the cartoon. the fire nation /claimed/ they wiped them out easily, but if you look when they find master giatsu there are a bunch of fire nation skeletons.
@@sodapop6164 Bodies around one person, a noted master. K/S only find one item of note, a single, lone helmet. If the airbenders had any solid defense, there would be many more bodies in many more places since the firebenders (in the cartoon) left their dead behind. I think you're misinterpreting my meaning of "put up a fight". It's war. Every soldier is unique so of course there will be casualties even if one side has an overwhelming advantage.
@@TheHeroClass My main issue with the live action is that the acting for Aang and Katara seem extremely... stiff? Aang doesn't seem natural in how he talks, and Katara feels off as well. Everyone else feels fine, but because Aang and Katara are central pieces to the show, their performance kinda drags it down for me.
@@krazytreRTMWell they’re also kids, who likely don’t have as much experience doing this kind of acting. I’m sure they’re doing their best and trying to accomplish what the director wants.

As someone who hasn't seen the animated series yet, I can say it was pretty good. I just can't help but feel that it lacked something compared to the LA one piece that hooked me instantly. Which I also haven't seen the anime as well and got introduced to the LA series first.
I actually love how close they stuck to the source material. They were able to give us the world we knew while adding some much needed context like the start of the war and the genocide on Airbenders in the form of the start of the show instead of flashback spread throughout multiple episodes.
@@artthounasty5877 Well it depends. I know some people who aren't multitaskers who complained about it. It's just a lot easier to understand what happened before the show if you get it all at once. If you have to peice it together and remember small details throughout a whole season then it becomes annoying.
It's like a 6/10 for me so far. I had to take a break after episode 4, so maybe it gets better idk. The visuals are killer, but they made so many weird decisions with the story and tone. Why did they make it so unbelievably depressing? Why are the character personalities so muted? Why did Katara moving a boat break Aang out of the iceberg? Why do they split up the gang so much? Why does Aang avoid his glider like the plague? Also, why the hell are the mechanist and Teo in Omashu instead of the Northern Air Temple? Also, why were Jet and the freedom fighters in Omashu as well? They neutered the entire Bumi reveal and there were no stakes since Katara and Sokka were on their side plot B/C grind instead of being held hostage. Don't even get me started on the exposition dumps. I genuinely don't understand how they managed to make Book 1 feel rushed at about the same run time as the cartoon. Book 1 has 20 episodes, ~23 minutes each, equating to about 7.66 hours of content. This series has 8 episodes at an hour each. It almost feels like they're trying to speed-run the series every episode. The cartoon was a kid's show with adult elements, this is not that. Is this iteration of Aang even capable of having fun? Go watch episode 1 of the cartoon again and compare it to this. The entire tone of the series doesn't even feel remotely similar. I can see why the creators of the show left.
Glad to know there are folks out there that have been keeping up to date with ridiculous changes they made to this already great series. Whom CLEARLY didn't watch the series. Or rather did, but took away the parts that complimented the original story and instead took them out and change because they feel that those elements wont fit right with how they feel it should be for "MODERN AUDIENCES" and find ways to fit in THE MESSAGE into this adaptation. Witch is why i'll never give this adaptation my viewing pleasure. For god sakes, Maya and the THREE was only nine episodes long and that show managed so much more telling and less telling the most movies and shows these days.
I went in with a low expectation, but Ngl this series is so far waaaaaay better than the movie, and if anything it holds up as a darker retelling of the story. I’m interested to see what else changes for the series, but so far it has exceeded my expectations. I’m excited to see your reactions to more
I swear people have no concept of how wildly different the method of media used to tell the story: live action of eight 40+min episodes that's released as a whole VS a cartoon of 20 episodes of 20+ mins each released weekly. Two very different methods that require unique methods of execution. Also people forget how exposition heavy the cartoon actually was and how the cartoon hinted and implied a lot of heavy concepts for a kids show, but couldn't actually show or explain them in the detail required to flesh them out because it was precisely made for a kids network television company. The show is streamlining the themes, events while explicitly delving into the ideas that the cartoon only elaborated on in vague and unexplicot ways. Again because it was made for 16 and younger kids, not 12 year old to older people which this show is rated for. TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT MEDIUMS. The actor who plays Iroh had the right idea when he said that it is not a copy, nor a remake, but a REMIX because he understood the medium of the story (form of media used) is inherent to its method of portrayal. Again people wildly overestimate the cartoons handling of the more mature concepts - the fact they were even alluded to or just plainly part of the narrative was enough to warrant the fact it effectively delves into those things because ot was for kids explicitly and how it had to exposition dump in different ways because it was for children. The nostalgia simping and hindsight 20/20 musings of the show that everyone has had for 20+ years is blinding everyone to the extremely creative adaptation. It is not as good as the cartoon, but it isn't wholly trash TV. If we, as geeks and nerds, can mostly agree that the Revenge of the Sith is a masterpiece despite its obvious flaws in dialogue and story telling, then we can at least try to appreciate the live action adaptation of our beloved ATLA. The cast and crew obviously have love for the original work. That being said, it could have been another Witcher fiasco. The showrunners had no love fpr the source material. The makers of NATLA simply do not have that same contempt for their own source material.
Its definitely not but by its own show... yah. Its nice. The creators did leave because Netflix wanted to change a lot. Its a nice show. Definitely better than the movie. But when you have the original source material right there, right in front of you and decide to change it... thats where we have a problem. Sure add things and change some tiny stuff but not big things. Even though it was a nice adaptation.. its not the best.
The original creators are credited as writers for this first episode so we don’t know how involved they were on later episodes before leaving but this episode was largely them. I think I heard that you need to have written a decent amount of the script to be credited as a writer for an episode, like a third or something like that, which would mean that the original creators did at least 2/3 of the script of this first episode.
While it'll NEVER be better than the original, I honestly think that this is the most respectful live action adaptation I've ever seen in my life! It has so much love and respect for the original and you can feel that in this show. I've already seen every episode of season 1 and it's honestly really good. It'll never beat the original, but I never expected to. This is its own thing and I'm ok with that. I'm really excited for the next seasons to come. Long Live Avatar Billy!❤
I can accept the story plot changes. But uhh... The story progression is a bit... Slacking. Somehow Aang is matured, Katara is emotionless, Sokka seems okay, looks like the Sokka we know except sexism, Uncle Iroh is not wise??? Zuko is great, but i want to see his true rage.
I loved how in, both the cartoon and live action, Zuko was like "It can't be...". Not because he finally saw the Avatar after his years of searching, but because the Avatar, who he thought was an old master of all four elements, was a boy younger than him. He was in disbelief because his expectations were shattered that the most wanted person in all the Fire Nation was a bald twelve-year-old found in a block of ice.
For non main characters they did a great job with the casting for Gyasto, Zhao, Suki, and Iroh. The actor for Zhao immediately got my attention and I was very impressed with that actor’s performance of the character.
@@ashhabimran239 well on its own it has little set up for story payoffs that are qued by the ost starting to swell during a scene of dialogue that's supposed to have meaning. Even though all there was previous was a bunch of either flat performances or continual reciting of exposition for lore(a.k.a telling the character what they should be focused on and repeatedly).
@@lokimiguel2452 disagree with that sentiment, as one doesn't like every version of those characters. However, those characters have extensive and multidimensional lore. So each form is from a different universe. The issue with this is, outside of the pacing, line direction and in turn the dialogue conveyed. These live actions are really just about using IP that have automatic audience and start out following the same storyline, to appease the core audience. Then turn around and make most every character and core system(in this case bending) into something that strays far from how their portrayal. Which they don't even do well, as I previously stated. How about they simply make something of their own without the Avatar mainstays namesake propping them up. And make the characters they want to make
My biggest issue with the movie was just the bending was completely disconnected. They would do an entire breakdance set just to move a droplet of water of a tiny stone. Bending was done really well in this show
The one change that I liked less than the original. Aang just wanted to take a ride instead of overhearing that they were sending him away and running away. I believe that running away adds way more to his character arc.
I can tell you right now it's not and I can also tell you that's an incredibly stupid thing to say. For so many reasons, it's kind of impressive how stupid this claim is.
idc what anyone says this show is fucking amazing and just like ruff said, if you go into it expecting a 1for1 then you're gonna be disappointed. respect and love the show as it is, it doesn't mean the og is going anywhere, if you want the og go watch the og and stop complaining fr lol
You guys are delusional. This show is hot garbage. They try and cram in 8 different story lines into one episode. Acting is god awful, might be worse than the live action movie. The show is all over the place. For instance, katara went through the whole freedom fighter story line by herself in the span of 15mins. While Sokka and Katara are in the secret tunnels, Aang is still hanging out with Bumi. None of this makes sense.
It makes plenty of sense if you pay attention. The show is far from perfect and we discuss our issues with it. But even pretending this is even close to the hot dumpster fire of trash that was the 2010 movie is nuts. Can't take anyone serious that can compare the two.
Will you be posting the reaction to the... movie that must not be named? I would love to see your reactions to that mistake. Also, you should try to watch Kipo, I think you'd like it!
Watched all 8 Episodes. My score for the series is a 9/10 across the board. Definitely recommend, will be showing and watching with my 8yr old daughter once she is home from school on Friday and over the weekend. 1) The air nomad deaths are shown, so to adults, watch first 20 minutes before kids. Otherwise kids can watch once Aang is in ice. 2) This is not a copy of the original. 8 Live action episodes to tell story of 20 cartoon episodes. Episode 6 of original cartoon looks like it will be in season 2 of the live action. Season 2 episode 2 of original cartoon is added into season 1, instead of episode 6. 3) The first episode is the first 3 episodes together with the deaths of the air nomads. 4) Original cartoon Episodes 4, 5, 7-10, 12, 13, 15, and 17 have their essential episode essence represented, in episodes 2 through 6 of the live action. A lot of things are re-ordered. Some things are expanded. You will see parts of things from a recognizable episode mashed with events from other episodes. 5) Watch the entire thing BEFORE judging. Sometimes you will think something was forgotten only to learn, that the other parts or viewpoints of a given episode are in a follow-up episode. The way the episodes are mashed together means the story jumps between events of various episodes, so the representation of one episode might occur across 2 or 3 episodes; or there may be an intervening episode. 6) Do Not PreJudge. The format is different than the original cartoon, initially the order will seem odd. Just hang in with it, overall it does work. 7) Episodes 11, and 14 are not shown, but pay attention anytime Zuko, Iroh, or Zhou get a report. The events of those episodes are mentioned but it’s a one time blink, or talk and you will miss it. These episodes have indirect representation in the series. The honorable mentions in the reports made me laugh while watching. 8) The Jeong Jeong part of Episode 16 might occur in season 2, or 3 without Zhou. Jeong Jeong is not in season 1 of this live action. He has not been cast yet. 9) The last 2 episodes of the Netflix Live action have been mashed together, the mashup reorders the events of original cartoon episodes 18-20. The Katara vs Paku fight is Wow! 10) Koh will appear far earlier than expected. and not when or how fans expect. He is still a creepy, freaky, and dangerous spirit. They expand Koh’s role to include some of the lore with him from the comics as well. He is voiced by George Takei (Sulu from 1966 Star Trek). 11) The original voice actor of the cabbage man, plays and is, the cabbage man in this Netflix live Action series!! 12) The previous 3 avatars and ocean spirit La, at points will be given permission by Aang to use him as a channel. Kyoshi is obvious. Many people apparently missed when Roku did so. Pay attention, do not miss it by talking or by being distracted by what Roku is showing and teaching Aang. Kurik will refuse. La’s turn is OBVIOUS. 13) Azula’s machinations are definitely as evil as Ozai’s. Yes Azula learns lightning bending before the end of season 1. She is far darker than the original cartoon.
I am glad that they're doing quite some stuff different from the animated show. We all love the animation, but we also all know it so well. If it was a perfect 1 to 1 replication I would not be surprised by anything. And I don't think it would be able to live up to the original. This show feels like a different version of the same story. Which is exactly what I wanted to see. I also like how they cleverly merched certain episodes together, I think they did well on that. And ofcourse the bending looks pretty cool
Okay, I wanna start by saying this episode (as someone who's seen four of them) is a 7/10. Definitely not as bad as the M. Night adaptation, but certainly not to the great three episodes it's trying to adapt. My problem with this episode specifically lie in the impact of Aang as the Avatar. Korra's lore firmly established only two Airbender's could "fly". The Guru who's name I will not attempt spelling, and Zaheer, letting go of both their earthly attachments. Aang very clearly still has earthly attachments, so wtf is that. Other than that, when they go back to the Temple to see the genocide's effects, the way it's literally the last five minutes feels so disrespectful, because I felt more when I had less time with Gyatso, mainly cuz Aang was in full on denial in the show, meanwhile Gran-Gran the exposition dumpster literally told him he was the last one, so when he just snaps into the Avatar State and without the emotional weight of Katara calming down, it feels completely hollow. Anyways, the bending effects are awesome, the intro will never match the original's, and the actors are perfect for the most part
@@konkaiwa515 See, I'm willing to excuse it because it SEEMS like he was just pushing himself with air, because he doesn't do that again to my knowledge, but when everyone just assumes it's flying...and their bad explanation of the Korra lore...it irks me 😅
I just finished the series. The animated series is a 10/10 for me and is the standard I judge all tv series on. This is 8/10 for me. Some changes worked, some I didn’t like.
I don't think it quite lives up to the cartoon but I never really expected it to. I was worried when I saw the reviews but after watching the whole show myself I can't see it as anything other than nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking. It was never going to be 1 to 1, it was always going to mix some episodes/story bits, I think they did an amazing job translating this to Live Action while keeping the spirit of it alive.
Not even 10 mins in and I’m SO glad I decided to watch you guys reacting to it first. I’m extremely attached to the original and I know I’ll find more joy in your joy, rather than my first watch of the remake solely being pointing out differences, cuz I know myself and that’s exactly what I’d do. So hopefully in a few weeks when I actually have the time and energy to sit and watch it all for myself, the changes won’t hit me like “THAT’S NOT HOW IT WENT!” cuz I already had you guys as a filter of sorts for it.
What was hard to watch throughout Episode 1 was seeing the Genocide of the Air Nation and Aang seeing Gyatso’s skeleton. Those moments tore me apart the most and I watched this episode in the morning expecting a copy paste situation but this was so much more!
Just taking a guess, but the title was probably there to purposely piss people off (Edit: watch the end of the video) Also, I hope to see the reaction to the movie
I watched the show and have to say, it is really good, but i had some issues. Without spoilers... less cgi and more practical stuff would have been better in many scenes, also alot of story stuff feels rushed, it just skips from event to event, basically no interactions between the main-cast, traveling or training is happening outside of the mainplot... it would have benefited alot from a 10 episode runtime instead of 8. For me the show istn quiet the level of One Piece, but its really close... 8,5 out of 10
Whoever said this was bad just came in with that notion and want it to be bad, this was increíble!! I grew some aspect are explained and done better then the animation. I teared up. This was sooooo incredibly amazing.
😂Yo, I had to pause after the first 5 minutes and dance around my room because I was overcome by emotion due to how good everything looked and the feels I got!
*It should be noted!* If we didn't already have the One Piece live-action, this Airbender show would be the GOAT of adaptations right now, don't lose perspective, they did a pretty darn good job!
Love this new set up! Not sure if this'll be new or what but if you're gonna react might as well make yourself comfortable! Also I love how emotional they are! Real men aren't afraid of crying in front of others!!
I'm very haooy that you enjoyed this episode. Love that you went into this with an open mind. I absolutely loved the series (which I binged completely). It has a few weak spots but overall I'd rate it with an 8,5 (only so that there is still room to rate the next seasons better... if I only rate it for itself, it propbably get a 9/10 from me.
it really annoys me the amount of people pissed that the show isn't a carbon copy of the animation. it would be a waste of time having 2 of the same show. without the bias the LA is actually a pretty good show
I binged the entire series yesterday and if I had to give it a rating, I'd give it a 8 or 9 out of 10. I really like what they did with this show. I like that they made some changes, combined some things and cleaned others up a little, and I feel like they did it while still honoring the source material. They did their own thing with it - and I love that! I like that they didn't just do a shot by shot remake of the cartoon. I think the intended audience are adults who grew up with the show or have otherwise watched the show... so it makes since to give it a fresh spin so that we still have a little mystery in what comes next. I liked the vast majority of the choices they made in this. There are just two things that I did not like --- but those haven't come up yet so I'll avoid mentioning them. Otherwise, it was a strong season! And a strong opening! I will say, I think the child actors for Aang and Katara are a little unseasoned - a little awkward in their roles at the start but they grow into them over the course of the season.
I was a little nervous when I found out that the show was cutting Sokka's misogyny and his growth and development to overcome that... but I don't think that's necessarily needed for his arc. He still has to learn how to be a man - that his life and his choices are his own and I don't think misogyny is a necessary part of that development or of that journey into adulthood. I think it would have been poignant if they had included it --- especially given the hold creators like Andrew Tate have over the minds of young men these days, but I think it's ok that they didn't go that route.
Thats a wild title

So after watching episode 1 for myself… the fact that they made the invasion the same night Aang left takes away from people thinking he ran away.
Remember the public knew Aang ran and escaped his responsibility as the Avatar. If the invasion happened the same night, people would just assume he was among the first to die. Other gurus would assume he went into the Avatar state and died thus cutting off the life cycle.
It reduces Aang’s guilt and sense of forced responsibility if all this happened in one day.
No it’s not

The "better than anime/manga" is kind of a meme, I think what they meant is the previous movie, which is also what they mention in the beginning, so no need to overreacting as soon as the video dropped

I don't know what scars you guys have seen in your lives, but Zuko's 'scar' looks like a weirdly clean bruise to me XD
And I don't know who told you the creators were involved in the Shaymalan movie, because they were pushed out of trying to course correct it, just like they walked away from this because of creative differences
I’m guessing they just toned down its looks because they didn’t want it to be distracting. if I had a complain, it's the writing. there is a bit to much "tell, don't show", like the scene with Aang and Appa where Aang explicitly tells the audience exactly how he feels, because that is totally what a confused 12 year old does, right? his acting and delivery wasn't great either, but I can give that a pass since he is just a child actor.
I'm also not quite sure how I feel about frontloading the entire start of the war. sure, it doesn't really matter to those who watched the animated series, but I think for the non-initiated it might be better to leave things in the dark and slowly uncover the past over the course of the series.
Yeah..media literacy is more dead. In the original aang just ran out on gyatso and it told everything that live action aang babyfed us.
i actually like aang's actor a lot, he really gives you that inocent and chill vibe the character needs. . .at least when the script actually let him instead of only opening his mouth to explain his exact feelings and the plot to the audience

I actually love how close they stuck to the source material. They were able to give us the world we knew while adding some much needed context like the start of the war and the genocide on Airbenders in the form of the start of the show instead of flashback spread throughout multiple episodes.
Not to mention Aang being frozen.

I love how ruff is still master of the pause irl 😂
Most likely skipped some parts because it was made as an animation and some of the parts would look goofy and cringey if they did it irl
Sokka has been my favorite character so far
9:50 They got Sokka's forehead right, A+ casting.

It seems this adaptation may have more merit than I anticipated, but it inevitably will in no way hold a candle to the original animated series
I wish people would stop taking that mentality of "it can't live up to the original" and just watch it without comparing it too much

@@lokimiguel2452 disagree with that sentiment, as one doesn't like every version of those characters. However, those characters have extensive and multidimensional lore. These live actions are really just about using IP that have automatic audience and start out following the same storyline, to appease the core audience.

WAIT! This is my first time to see you all in one studio! It’s so nice!!

I'm sure these comments will be perfectly innocuous 👀
I am glad that they're doing quite some stuff different from the animated show. We all love the animation, but we also all know it so well. If it was a perfect 1 to 1 replication I would not be surprised by anything. And I don't think it would be able to live up to the original.
This show feels like a different version of the same story. Which is exactly what I wanted to see. I also like how they cleverly merched certain episodes together, I think they did well on that. And ofcourse the bending looks pretty cool
It's so crafty how they tweaked certain stories to fit in this narrative. Loved the show!
Anyways, the bending effects are awesome, the intro will never match the original's, and the actors are perfect for the most part
he wasn't flying he was falling with style

I just finished the series. The animated series is a 10/10 for me and is the standard I judge all tv series on. This is 8/10 for me. Some changes worked, some I didn’t like.
I think Zuko's "Can't be" is his surprise to seeing the Avatar as a kid. Not to Aang being there.

I think it would have been poignant if they had included it --- especially given the hold creators like Andrew Tate have over the minds of young men these days, but I think it's ok that they didn't go that route.
everyone: this is so good
everyone when they reach the omashu episode and onwards: WTF ARE THEY DOING WITH THIS SHOW
