I made a follow up video after some time....check it out cause my opinion changed a lot.
Good job thanks
Very nice! Glad to see your first impressions and look forward to seeing it covered in sawdust!
Heads up, you need 6' on both sides of your blade to calibrate. I built a custom workstation for my Bosch mitre saw in a 10' x 10' spare room and only have 60". Moving my saw would mean having to tear down and rebuild a new workstation so I have to return the device to Lowe's. I let Reekon know of this and they'll pass it onto their development team. Hope this post helps someone in making an informed purchasing decision and not have to return the item like I have to now. Hopefully they'll make a newer revision without this limitation and I have better luck with the T1 Tomahawk tape measure when released this summer.
Yeah. That is an amazing tool.
It works surprisingly well. I dont like numbers or thinking...so this save me brain power :)
Got mine the other day can't wait to start cutting some wood
It has proven useful so far. A few downsides but overall I'm happy.
Got mine the other day haven’t set it up yet cause of lumber prices. Appreciate the video looking forward to more.
Yea lumber prices are out of control.
Lol soon we will be buying mitre saws and store them until we can afford a lumber 😅
I’m a newbie from Quebec, Canada . Your video helped me lot. Personally I found the instructions so - so as a newbie…… in addition… Attention to all metric users….. in the booklet it is written 6 FT for calibration or 200 cm…… on the Recon Video the owner who invented this those a mistakes and says 6 ft is 200 mm… Just be aware everybody who uses the metric system…
I made a follow up review.....it didn't go well

Hi same newbie…. I just saw your last video of the Reekon…… To be honest I’m an artist and like to race, hence the helmet….. I am an artist painter, not a woodworker but I have great tools to cut etc…… I build my own canvases and when finishing a piece I do my own frames…. This Reekon was bought through a kickstarter project….. I was hoping for quick and accurate lengths to cut and then miter my joints…. Obviously it seems quite inaccurate when you show all the blocks on the side and they look like a mountain range…… I just installed it yesterday after a month just lying there…. I’m very disappointed of it’s inadequacy and you are so correct on how that freaking arm doesn’t easily lock in place…… So I wonder if WoodPeckers didn’t fabricate a long exact ruler of about 6 feet.
My artwork so far has been within those 6 feet long limits…. I thank you for your time and honesty in your review in your two videos on the subject .
I dig your look. Cheers from french Canada !
@@rosevan5485 given your line of work and use for it...I do see it has its benefits. Once Calibrated it does work fairly well. Having seen the two videos, you can see how it doesn't work for me. My work is part of it. But if you leave it installed and check it once in a blue moon, it should do those tasks fine.
As far as the arm thing goes...I believe reekon has agreed to replace the first edition models with an improved one if you reach out to them. You mail yours and they mail one back.
Nice
Pretty cool but when do you need to cut 15 5” pieces?
And when you do, is it faster than a stop block? I’m still skeptical admittedly.
It wasn't so much that I needed to do just that. More like the skeptics (including myself) need to see what repeat cuts look like. A stop block could work, but also comes with limitations. If you have a setup like mine...using a stop block on anything over 15" would be challenging. Also a stop block takes time to set up. Especially of you are batching a few pieces at various lengths. I still have my doubts...haven't gotten to use it much since I made that video as I've been away....but I will be posting a review of it later once I've got some time with it. So far....everyone that has one doesn't seem to have any complaints. Time will tell. But so far I'm impressed, and I tend to be pretty critical about things...especially tools.
I got one of these for our metal fab shop because all off our stock is clamped down for the cut (staying at 0), between cuts. should be much faster at just a push of the button.
I forget that other materials are chopped as well :)
What if we cut on the degree, is that accurate?
It can be, but you might check out my follow up video for additional info. I've backed off my position about this item.
What will happen when the batteries are getting low will it not repeat as good or just wont read at all?does it tell you the batteries are getting low?
I'm actually gonna be doing a secondary review in the next week or so to review the pros and cons after getting to use it for a while. Besides that, I haven't messed with the batteries since I opened it and its still going. (6 months now?)
Also yes it has a battery indicator.
Is only for square cuts?
If you know the measurement from angle to angle im sure you could use it for other ways
Please how do I get ordered some in Ghana
Contact the manufacturer
@@TheWoodVeteran thanks
just use an end stop to replicate
Is it rechargeable
No, just uses batteries
@@TheWoodVeteran okay thanks
