Love this build series, but I have to say it's hilarious that your first mod to this bike was adding a one maybe two pound kickstand and then spent hundreds of dollars to "maybe" lose a pound! I thinks it's more for the looks! LOL. Again, I love the videos though! I'm building one right now! Thanks of the entertainment!
We leave it off for now, but if we ever do go through the steps of road legalizing it, it’ll beat trying to find a wall or whatever all the time! Don’t worry. We’re not done spending money on titanium, next update we’re replacing almost every remaining bolt and shaft.
The newest SMC R 690 front fender is a plug and play, also with many years of ktm owning and testing i've found that the oem rubber parts and seal dont cope well with the motul 660, it eats the seals in a year.
awesome videos. 30 minutes long, yeah we dont mind lol. Not related to any particular bike but wondering if sometime you could do a back to back dyno run of a street tire vs slick to see if there really is a notable difference on the dyno reading?
are you tuning via just the app or actual tuning with the maya software? if using the software are you using the advanced or the standard maya software? thanks for your help. have a GET ECU with taco maps and it starts so bad on an open intake and FMF 4.1 exhaust with emissoins delete. starts so bad. and really doesnt have anymore HP then stock ECU with JD jetting tuner. really dissapointed. its got supposed custom maps from taco on it. but its starts like absolute crap. think the crank map needs modifying. appreciate the help.
Thanks for putting the parts you used in the description.. as an owner of an FS450 and 690 SMC-R, I’m following along close, and will probably order some stuff from you guys in the near future! Keep these build vids coming!
one note according to battery - Aliant is using "Equivalent capacity" - it means same amount of starting energy compared to Pb battery. In real, the cells have around half of that 5Ah - so maybe a bit less than the original battery - this is the reason why it is lighter. YLP05b have around 2,5Ah.
Perhaps, but we've found these ratings to be quite adequate. For example, we use YLP05 on our ZX-10RR superbike. We have a jumper connection that we use for downloads, but the bike starts fine on YLP05 when needed. This is of course a high compression SBK motor, with heavy valve springs and very high compression. So we knew the 5B is more than adequate for this bike. We also use that battery in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup YZF-R7, which has an 'SBK' engine spec.
@@SuperbikeUnlimited I have no doubt that it works, I am building lithium batteries for motorsport for many years. I only wanted to say that there are two "types" of capacity measurements and it is a bit confusing for people who knows what is Ah. Manufacturers started to write "pbeq capacity" because customers will not believe that 2.5Ah battery works the same or better like the 8Ah lead battery. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and that you guys are showing us these incredible builds.
Hey Freddy, your right we love the long videos lol. I need a quickshifter solution for a tm450 supermotard. Do you have any recommendations please? Struggling to find something to work. Thanks 👊 🤙
Great stuff! would those custom GET settings you did apply to the standard 450SXF 2022, as in would that be a good curve for offroad riding... weekend stuff not racing..
Hi, great videos. Loved this series. I recently got a get ecu for my Husqvarna fs450 basically same bike as this.we had the luxury to go on the dyno and roughly map it. Yet we seem to gain big on the bottom end but loose a little bit top end. We also took the spark arrestor out just like you. So i assume quite some gain was in the ignition timing map that i did not touch. Any tips on how to go about the ignition timing mapping, and what are the risks? Also any chance i can get the map the you guys made? Im in Europe so made no sense to order from you but ill gladly pay for the map is necessary. Thanks
this is Mike in Colorado, I’m still waiting to hear back from you Freddie on my arrow exhaust silencer. I just picked up a 22 SMR and I’m interested and some parts and the ECU. Wish you guys were more responsive.
I called and spoke directly to Freddie and asked if I could purchase the bigger silencer. He said he would contact Arrow and let me know. That was ~July :) I put the DB killer in it and fortunately that provided some reduction. I’ll call about the SMR parts. I will say that for all the parts I bought for my ZX10 if always seemed like it was almost more trouble than it was worth for you guys when I would order. Hence, when I never heard back on the Arrow silencer I gave up. Kind of a weird deal.
@@booger65man Special order replacement parts are not always as simple, especially when trying to substitute components. It’s possible the order cannot be fulfilled or that your contact info was transcribed incorrectly. Probably worth calling back
Doesn’t have a kick starter! You would have to bump it every time. We are going to ride it on the road at least to some extent, that’s why we put the kickstand on.
Amazing build, I'm watching closely because I have one on order. Please do one thing, remove the stock exhaust and replace it, with anything really but please replace it. I think you guys hurt the exhaust's feelings with those pliers...
Why didn’t you just use the kickstand warp 9 sells for SM bike? It already comes with the perfect length for the smaller wheel set. No fuss no muss. Easy button
I have a question, I recently purchased a GET but I'm not in the states so it wasn't through you guys. My question is: the GET base map you're supplied with was it specific for the SMR or is it a generic map for the SXF/FC?
@@SuperbikeUnlimited thanks, I have the GET rx1 pro, I have had it on dyno but they seem to have targeted 12.5:1 and some areas 12:1 and I see power and torque drops. Within the wifi fuel map how much % would I need to lean off fuel to achieve 13:1 from your experience in this app? From what I can see I should I be able to make some gains throughout. Thank you…

Any updates on a better kickstand yet? That you don't have to cut down?🤔

Will do. I do have several orders in your system with my contact info.
Would like to see the total weight saved with just the titanium.
The Ohlins are on order I assuming?
Why you use grams for bolts and stupid oz for the battery?
Because of the larger expected disparity. It’s 68 grams.
Nice. Is this a track only/race bike? Would a electric starter delete be reasonable for something like this?

My hole saw removed that spark arrestor quickly
Great video… do you deliver to the UK?
We ship worldwide!
Did you weigh it with 100% gas in the tank?
Do you guys support and sell this stuff? You don't have any KTM 450SMR's in the bike selection drop down list?
Why can't you measure AFR with a spark arrestor? Cheers.
If we use a probe, they usually can’t go deep enough into the stock exhaust.

It is for that application. Lol I have 2 smrs

Why didn't you just buy a FMF Ti 4.1 slip on ? It would save more weight that all of your Ti bolts many times over.
I did that with mine..
The dual exhaust we are using now outperforms any single system, especially in the overrev area.

Fastway

Yes!

Dang, this is going to be one bad a$$ street bike. I've seen a dropped drag KTM with NOS before. 9 second bike.

We used to have an SXV, have tuned and serviced many and we’ve done a lot a lot of RSV4 over the years.
Freddy do some head work these like that alot!
Maybe we can find a spare head to do some testing with.
If you choose to sell this bike at some point let me know please
We can build one exactly like it for you!
