Truly phenomenal build! Idk why you say you're not a "professional" woodworker when the production quality of your builds is just leaps and bounds ahead of so-called "pros"
This was my first time watching your show. And I have to say that the Impossible Floating "Cave" Table turned out absolutely beautiful. I will definately keep checking out your shows. Thank You. Stephanie
This was great, thanks, been searching for "michigan woodworking classes" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Denia Diyictoria Bulldozer - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate got cool success with it.
C'mon, man, the table was cool, but I don't like being catfished by your dishonest thumbnail...it's like you think you have to lie to us for us to like you or something
I mentioned something similar one day... Got a response that they have done videos before and future videos are possible also... Bunker Branding does his merch.
OMG that is totally amazing. From the start, I didn't think it would be anything to see. But it has become one of the most beautiful tables, that I have seen.
Ehy John! Drinking beer and eating beer while watching your videos during the weekend is part of my solo fun time! You’re a great woodworker and artist but also…A HELLA FUN! Thank you John! :)
Could you do this table and add a mirror to the bottom and underside of the top to make it look like a deep pit? Would love to get into woodworking to try this stuff! Great content!
Very nice! I suggest polycarbonate in preference to acrylic for the next project. Polycarbonate is much stronger allowing for thinner pieces, and is very scratch resistant. It's about the same price too.
Instead of the acrylic, I wonder how it would look to have pillars inside cut to look like more stalagmites and stalactites. Great work regardless, it's a fantastic idea.
It would look fine but the whole point is it’s supposed to look like it’s floating and the nothing is connecting the two sides. Making wooden pillars in the middle would kind of defeat the point.
When planing my end grain cutting boards on a straight knife jointer and thickness planer i glue a sacrificial board to the ends and all the tear out and chipping is cut off with the sacrificial board.
Yea the tensegrity tables are getting a bit tough to make sturdy enough to plop my huge ass on. So i gotta figure that out first. That was my original idea. But this worked out to be a bit better i think
pour stalagtiets and mites in acrylic, then mount on the inside to hold the table top. even use some dremel bits to score them to make them look rough then add leds so at night ya can light them up.
When clamping little pieces like that you need stability across the face and back, if you use long pipe clamps you can rest the pipe lightly against and across the face then one against and across the back sometimes you need to do the same to the top and bottom if you could fit 4 clamps.... it's a cool trick if you can do it and then it wouldn't explode as you would slowly tighten each clamp until they are all tight add stabilized against the back (pipe) of the clamps. New subscriber, awesome stuff I've seen so far. Looking forward to watching lots more!
I love how immediately after you pushed a short piece of wood through a fairly narrow gap in your table saw without a push stick, you went into a Skillshare sponsor.
I'd like to of seen the glass/plexiglass all the way around, just to remove the obvious edges of the panels and then protecting the inside from who knows what. Really cool table.
To prove your Yinzer theory. Me: He dad, I'm watching this guy on RUclips build some pretty cool projects. He's from Da Burg. His name's John Malecki. My Dad: Didn't he play for the Stillers?
Beautiful table. Another way to make it look cool would have been a stalactite in the midle as the support for the top. Thank you for your videos, they open up my creative mind.
Love it. Love it. Love it!! The only thing I didn’t completely like was seeing the edges of the acrylic in the finished table, and also the cost of the acrylic... ouch! I’m wondering if it would be possible to do a 4 sided “river” epoxy table? Like I’ve seen this similar raw edge wood with epoxy in between made to look liked a river for a table top, you could possibly use a similar technique to achieve the floating table illusion? 🤷🏻♀️ idk but maybe, just an idea 🙂
Agreed, I was kinda Disappointed also since the Thumbnail shows now Acrylic. Could of also just used 4 acrylic cylinders offset twords the middle would have no flashy edges.
Literally spent the first 12 minutes or so trying to figure out "how the heck is he gonna pour this!?" Lol. Very cool piece man! You found a more expensive technique than epoxy! 😆
Kids listen very carefully........ this dude did it so its clearly not impossible..... but not to take away from your skill and craftsmanship very well done indeed my good sir🧐
Man, all it needs now are some orange, dim yellow LED hidden lighting strips in it and man...that will make it REALLY pop. Seriously though, this is way-impressive to watch you make!
I prefer tension over acrylic/resin since it's less noticeable if done with thin, transparent material or optic fibre but I can't imagine making something this large and uneven with this method. Great project anyway, I'm stealing the idea for my mom's birthday (with some waterfall motif or a bonsai and lights maybe?)
I feel like setting up an actual perfect shape that collapse on itself and putting electromagnets that pull in the corners and a slight stronger in the middle that pushes up... so it can collapse on itself until you flip a switch... or am I insane.
Looks great! Put some LED strips under the acrylic 😊 like literally below the bottom edge of the acrylic pieces. Due to the difference between the index of refraction of acrylic and air the acrylic will act like a light pipe and transmit the light to the top with little escaping out the sides (unless you rough them up). Could look cool.
‘You guys think the shit we do on here is cheap” truer words have never been spoken......just looking at the investment in your tools shows, it is not.....great one😎

Yeah I came here from a video about the downfall of telltale
I was watching sewing videos...
I was watching an old lady prune a bonzai tree
I was watching a guy build stuff from popsicle sticks
@Sturm wait come back i want to watch that with you
Add a "underground" river with resin and LEDs and this table will be perfect.
YES!
LEDs usually make everything perfect, for that matter
@@bujolg4196 I personally think they look tacky but each to their own
I was thinking the same.
Add some stone formation like diorama, and add some suggestions before this comment..
I'd like to see that in the future videos .
That table is fantastic, one of a kind. The price just went up. Yea
hahah thanks Larry

The waterfall river table may have consumed more of your soul (and time and money), but this looks way cooler. Thanks for sharing!
This is so damn fricken' cool. Love it! All it needs now is a Lego Batman to live in the cave.
OMG that is totally amazing. From the start, I didn't think it would be anything to see. But it has become one of the most beautiful tables, that I have seen.
Being a Brown's fan, I think you are the only Steeler I have ever liked! Awesome table dude. I think I will be making my own version soon.
Now you need to make another one, but make it an aquarium! With LED lights, and a removable top!
That is a super cool idea. I hope he does.
I like that idea too!
Yeah! That would be a good idea. Makes it look sea cave maybe!
Or a vivarium

As a Minecrafter, I love, love, love, this table! Fabulous job!!!
Idea? Use internal stalactites and stalagmites to make the table a tensegrity as well! Best of both!
Yea the tensegrity tables are getting a bit tough to make sturdy enough to plop my huge ass on. So i gotta figure that out first. That was my original idea. But this worked out to be a bit better i think
It doesn't have to be tensegrity, just the stalactites and stalagmites could come together to make legs in 3-4 spots.
pour stalagtiets and mites in acrylic, then mount on the inside to hold the table top. even use some dremel bits to score them to make them look rough then add leds so at night ya can light them up.
