I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all, to be honest. I think that as the show was airing there was a lot of feedback about Kim being boring but then by the reunion, you can tell that's she's caught on to the strategy of the show. I think Kim's struggle to rediscover herself after being a housewife for so long was compelling, especially when it becomes clear that she isn't going to let herself be a doormat just because she isn't kicking and screaming. I even think that clash between her and the other women about being makeup-free was interesting because wearing makeup and caring about your appearance aren't mutually exclusive to being authentic. Even with all of their wigs, and outfit and nail talk these women have managed to give us some very honest moments over the years and I think Kim could have been the best vessel to bring in more actual deconstructing of one another's beliefs, thought process and preconceived notions. If she had gotten another season, we might have gotten to see a more relaxed Kim who wasn't as concerned with looking bad on television. (I don't blame her, when you're an actress, I can see how putting your real name onto the actions that will be on screen is scary, so I understand why she was trying so hard not to get sucked into the drama)
