That looks great. I'm all for being cost effective, but sometimes it's worth the extra money to have a better product. And that is flat out a better product. Thank you for sharing.
With all the interest, we are planning on putting together a manual in the next couple of months. We just have to carve out a couple of weeks to make it happen!
So sorry that I haven't taken the time to respond to everyone. We are planning on taking a couple weeks off of our regular work in the next couple of months and put one together with pictures and directions. If all goes well, this summer a DIY manual should be available!
Do you ever have any issues with predators digging under the tractor? I didn't see any hardware cloth on the underside of it. I want to build something similar and have heard mixed opinions about putting hardware cloth under the chickens feet as it may injur them and they can't scratch. Any thoughts on the matter?
Only one drawback i can see. That arm hole for lock ins is big enough to allow a Opossum to get in. Maybe some sort of spring held flap there to cover it up.
Thank you! You can tell I'm new to putting videos out there... I had an older version of the manuals but haven't sold them for quite a while. If we update it this summer, I might put the new version up for sale.
I don't see a lot of ventilation, air flow is crucial to prevent ammonia buildup. Need a cut at the top walls above their heads with hardware cloth, maybe a wooden slide to adjust more/less air due to weather, that design wouldn't work in hot climates.
The raised house part was designed with plenty of ventilation at the top and bottom of the walls. If the chickens get too hot they can hang out in the shade under the house. Thanks for looking at our amazing coop!
There is a floor on the elevated house, but the grass area is open. We haven't had any issues with these coops out in our field with predators. It may be different in other areas.
I put together these videos and didn't figure on so much interest in these coops. We have plans in the next couple months to take a couple weeks off and build a coop step-by-step and put together a manual. I'm not sure about the video yet.
You are onto something. Good design. But as others mentioned more ventilation is necessary and vinyl flooring will release harmful gases toxic to chickens. A weasel ccould easily get in that wire mesh as well, so I'd put a door on the opening or use tighter hardware cloth. Those to modifications and this is something I'd consider building.
I knew when he said “vinyl flooring” it would have the liberals screaming “harmful blah, blah, blah.” A chicken will not be bothered by vinyl at all. We used to build coops with treated wood and liberals would say, “treated wood has harmful chemicals…..” It never bothered them at all. Aside from predators, chickens are resilient and can survive most anything. Carry on sir, good job on the wonderful design. Your vinyl flooring isn’t going to hurt any chicken. We’ve used it many times.
Hopefully we can get that done this summer! We put together different components from Harbor Freight for the jacks and wheels. Everything had to be modified to work.
Hi, they won't answer you but I looked closer. It is a harbor freight side crank tongue jack they used two braces to mount and a joist hanger on top to keep from sliding up. The jack has a large bottom plate so they drilled out holes to attach to large cart wheels. I am going to do this to my 10 foot coop made out of 2x4s. Hope that helps. Cheers.
@@alexcoughlin7818 hey thanks! Im using boat jacks on my 12' 2x4 build. They work but a pneumatic tire would be a ton better for grass and moving around my garden area
Correct! Yes, I haven't spent the time to respond. I didn't know there would be so much interest! The plan is to put together another one in the next couple months with pictures and measurements so we can provide a manual with all the information.
Wszystko pięknie, ale masz na tym placu taką trawę bezwartościowa, której kury w ogóle nie lubią. One lubią rozmaite zioła i różnorodne rośliny, a nie trawę na boisko piłkarskie...

Thank you!
A moveable chicken tractor is the only way to go😊
The jacks are simple genius. Ive been thinking of how. Thanks.
Thanks!
You have plans for this? I’d like to give it a try.

Me too! Curious how you built thus
@@melsfunideasany update on this
@@melsfunideasYou have any plans yet?
Thanks for making this video, I like your design.
Glad you like it!
Thank you for this information!
Glad it was helpful!
Really nice engineering. I really like the way you can crank the tractor up and down.
Thanks 👍
Looks like a great rabbit tractor
Dziękuję ♥ Fantastyczny pomysł
very nice love good job on the coop
Thank you!
Can you leave a link about where you got the wheels and all the accessories for the wheels all the parts??

@@melsfunideasstill no info on jacks?
Definitely need more info on those jacks.
I will try to do a video of the jacks, and get closer up.
Excellent
Good job would be better if you showed us how it moves and the do’ and don’ts easy or hard . Thank you
Where in WA? I'd love to buy something like this

Where we live we don’t have an issue. I move them everyday, which doesn’t give them time to dig much. We have possums, raccoons, and coyotes.
Only one drawback i can see. That arm hole for lock ins is big enough to allow a Opossum to get in. Maybe some sort of spring held flap there to cover it up.
We haven't had issues with anything getting in. It could be a problem in other areas.
So, what's the design and how are you going to integrate the nest boxes, when they start laying?
Could you tell where you bought the wheel risers?
Very nice video and you have a beautiful pasture. Do you by chance have some sort of plans to this build or equipment list?

Is there a floor to it? If not, have you had issues with predators burrowing under?

Dude. This is a trailer park for chickens….😂😂😂😂
Nice job though

what do you mean vinyl flooring will harm chickens. we have had chickens for over 8 years vinyl flooring from the start. its easier to clean.

Where do you put the nesting boxes?
Inside the white enclosed area.
How tall is each end?
Please, Please provide plans to build and recommendation on where to purchase the wheel system!

The house part of the coop has been designed with lots of airflow.

where do you get the steel strap on top of the trailer jack??
It is a framing strap, picked up from a lumber store
How many chickens can you put in that area
I may spoil my chickens, but the most I put in is 5. I'm sure you can put in a lot more, but they might start picking on each other.
Which part number jacks are you using in the back?
We modified parts from Harbor Freight.
I need that dolly!
Looks like a legends race car dolly
It's from Harbor Freight.
Where do the chiken lay their eggs?
We put a box in the house and they generally lay in the box. Some don't get it and lay wherever they want...
❤
Where you get your wheels? What kind are they?
We modified different parts from Harbor Freight.
@@melsfunideas that's awesome. It looks great 👍
Plans, part list plz 😊

Nice, but needs ventilation.
The house has plenty of ventilation. I may have to do another video showing the ventilation.
What about rats or other mammals that hunt and kill chicken or chicks? Don't they dig under this chicken coop

Ga masuk akal banget ya 5x10 meter hitung nya gimana kelihatan kecil banget kandang ny
We are not in the Metric system unfortunately. All measurements are in feet and inches.
5x10 ??
yes
Fantastic looking coops. Im looking to build one myself very soon. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me the brand of trailer jacks you used.
