Great video Zach, I was bummed not to get on the T again this year. I bet the legendary River Ranger Bob Stanley had an easy season without the Private boaters being allowed access. I noticed the ARTA , and Sierra Mac guides all use the pin's & clips system, especially on Cherry Creek. That would be a good discussion for Gear Garage someday. Also, a video of how to run Cherry Creek would be fun. I love what you're doing. Bubba :)

It's great to hear from you Bubba! Yep it seems like most guides on the T really appreciate pins and clips. We've done a few debates on pins and clips in the past I think you'd enjoy!

Great job narrating the classic T trip! I like your humble unassuming style when you are obviously an accomplished boatman; well done indeed. You are my kind of boater - careful, respectful, humble and confidently skillful - not afraid to show the inevitable sticky moments that even the best of us are prone to.
My first trip was waaay back in the mid 90’s - a gang of us Kern river class V animals were set to meet some northern Cal “experts” at the put in. River was at about 9k so we were rigged and riding a huge circular eddy at the put in for fun while waiting for the other group. They arrived, took one look, and headed home. So we decided to “read ‘n run” as not a one of us had ever been there before. And besides, it was a bitch of a drive getting there. Well, as you can imagine, it was one helluva wild ride. Dinosaur rock at Clavey was a giant hole ( we actually entered river left at the top of Clavey - a move I’ve never repeated!). At Ram’s Head I was so puckered that when I hit the massive hole an 😮oar was torn out of my hand and I was left clutching the oar grip. But oddly enough (as I’ll bet you know Zach but we didn’t of course) the center sneaky hole at Gray’s was our undoing. Two boats ate it there and chaos ensued. Oh man what gooood times. I survived, upright, but to this day I clearly remember spinning vertically out of the top hole at Clavey (in a 14foot oar boat) with my paddlers hanging on to the frame with their feet in the water. Oh to be young again…

Awesome breakdown. It’s been on my bucket list for years. Fun to see a VTR on it. Hoping I can get there next year! Thanks for sharing.
