Thickness depends on the concentration. To avoid drops or clumps, I just make a centrifugal movement to make all the excess paint detach from the piece. I do that inside the container, so it doesn't go all on my workbench.
@@cuforming ah alright. Have you had issues with the thickness of the paint causing loss in detail of the part? Because in the video, when you dip that little turtle in, it seems to leave quite a think layer. Or does that thickness kinda dissappear as it dries?
If I seal my leaves with matte spray sealer -can I use this afterwards, or will it eat through the sealer? And…will the solvent in this eat away natural gemstones? Thanks!
With this paint, you don't need to seal organics. The sealant I add is good on its own for the job. The time of drying will be a little longer with fresh leaves, thought. Gemstones are gonna be safe with it. Thank you!
What solvent and sealer have you used? I have tried different methods, using 1.alcohol 2. Acrylic paint. But with these the copper would flake off… Can you share this or maybe suggestions? I am trying to electroplate 3d printed items. (Resin)

Is the sealant you're using pellets of acrylic (same as plexiglass) dissolved in acetone? If so. That's a pretty genius method to getting a hard and durable coating impregnated eith graphite! I have a couple sheets of plexiglass from old displays, and was wondering what I could use the cut offs for, since I'd hate to waste them. Seems like a fantastic use for them! Keep up the good work 🫡👍
Thank you for the appreciation. If the plexiglass dissolves completely in the acetone, that can be done. Some kind of acrylic or polystyrene usually don't get liquid, they only reach a gooy state.
Polaroid B-72, with acetone as a solvent works the best. This is what it was designed for, ie...sealing, adhesive, consolidation, etc. It is what is used with fossil preparation and conservation.
@@terrynoles8539 And that is exactly what it is. Paraloid b-72 (not Polaroid 🙂). @cuforming This is not your invention, but you're selling the recipe like it is your own invention. Thanks for reply. I want to chrome plating headlight reflector, but it is plastic detail with high temperature and I need durable conductive paint. I think I found it now 😊
@@vladislavpishiev3065 I know that the maximum temperature for the binder is 50°C, but since it's mixed with graphite, the range could raise to 80°C or even more. This matter necessitate of tests in different conditions.
Fresh strawberries have a lot of water in them which is gonna be trapped inside and get rotten in a week. You could try that, but you need to make a hole in the copper layer and remove flesh and liquids. Maybe after the electroforming process, you can bake the piece at a low temperature to allow it to dry. There is a video of Elementric Artworks which makes a raspberry, and he burns it red-hot with a torch. I wouldn't recommend that because the copper will get annealed and soft, and could get deformed just by pressing it with your fingers.
@@innar80 Yes, I saw that. Thank you for your purchase. If you need anything, contact me on Instagram or Facebook, I'll be happy to help you. I just got some copper powder my self, I will make some test and see what happen. I'll be happy to share my experiment with you.
I actually don't know the diameter. I use the only one that came out with it, and it also gets clogged... but I only use it with the graphite paint so it's not a big deal for me since I clean it every time.
Doesn't this solvent corrode and ruin the rubber rings inside the airbrush? You have to be careful what you use, it can destroy your airbrush over time, and if it's not a generic brand airbrush, but a good imported brand airbrush, ordering repair parts can be complicated.
This solve evaporates faster than you think. I never had this issue with my air brushes. And if it does, it's just an O-Ring... not something for NASA rockets
