I honour your courage and honesty Sally. Self-compassion (being kind & gentle to ourselves) I have come to realise is also a helpful way of dealing with the inner critic.

This was a great session! I can really identify with a lot of Sally’s challenges. I found the discussion around toxic positivity very helpful, as well as the discussion around the challenges of asking for and accepting help ( and the interplay of the inner critic in all of this).

You're really brilliant. My biggest problem my whole life is that I am afraid to ask for help. It has cost me a lot. But I'm getting better at it slowly.

Enjoying following your story Sally! I can really relate to the financial situation and not being as independent, having to ask for help etc. It’s definitely a challenge balancing recovery with trying to keep work going x good luck xx

Thanks very much for the timeline/breakdown of segments. I was interested in the dialogue about toxic positivity. I've called what I experienced in the past within a religious movement, "coercive positivity."

I can understand how it feels Sally. Lately I have found it helpful to acknowledge I need rest. The sooner I do this the less time out I need. This is hard as it means cancelling work, before I feel bad enough to normally cancel! The biggest challenge is finding what works for me. Then sometimes that formula needs updating; so the healing process is ongoing. Good luck with your journey.

Wow - she doesn’t even say hello to any of her colleagues!!!!
Really poorly still’ - try having CFS, Fibromyalgia AND MANY OTHER CONDITIONS for decades!!!! And try not being able to work AT ALL, and having to rely on benefits!!!
