Oh my! That mixing bowl is such a sticky mess at the end. I think I would have to make up some hot chocolate & pour it into the bowl then into a large mug & enjoy with hot buttered toast. Yum 😋 Thanks for sharing! ❤
New subbie here! I just love how real you are. You do not edit out your “blurbs” with words or thoughts! I love that you are just like me and make those blurbs, too.. but, mostly, I want to thank you for leaving a written recipe in the “Description “ area. I love being able to copy and print this for my own use. I have compiled a nice little “preppers” recipe book from my fav cooks and homemakers of foods as well as DIY cleaning supplies for the “just in case” time as we live on a farm. Thanks again!
Lol. I just watched your maple syrup video where it bubbled over the pot, so glad to see you used a bigger pot this time which you said you usually forget to do 🤣🤣. So well done. Thanks again, love watching your videos. Have fun going camping.
❤ Love this! I love peeps, marshmallows, crispy treats. I make them all the time. I actually had a friend say she didn't know you could eat marshmallows raw, lol. I'm super excited to try this!!! Thanks, Ali! Once again, you rock! 😎💜👏
peppermint totally rocks in a marshmallow. drop into hot chocolate in the winter. been making my own marshmallows for years. gave peppermint marshmallows and home made cocoa mix to my coworkers for Christmas.
If you cover your pan [I use a glass lid so I can see inside] the evaporating water will drip down the sides of your pan, washing off any accumulated sugar crystals that will collect there otherwise. 🙂
Love your marshmallows!! My husband loves Jet Puffed Marshmallow Cream. He eat it right out of his jar.😂 I always buy 2 or more, so I can share the clean jars. I would love a homemade version of the Marshmallow Cream. Kevin would love it too!! Thanks in advance!!Nanna🥰
I made a batch where did not have enough corn syrup so I added molasses to make up the difference and a little Bourbon instead of vanilla and they were amazing.
Okay... Once your marshmallows are put into the pan, before you let it set up and it is still gooey, have on hand 1 to 2 cups of finely chopped walnuts. Sprinkle the walnuts evenishly over the marshmallows and press into the top with coconut oiled (or oil of choice) fingers. You can use more or less nuts, your choice. I prefer to dust my marshmallows with potato starch (no flavor to it) or cornstarch or arrowroot in a pinch. For me, powdered sugar is too sweet. Once the marshmallows are set up and ready to cut, melt 1 to 2 bags of chocolate chips (1 bag of dark chocolate and 1 bag of semi-sweet is my fav) in a double boiler or a pot over hot water and have ready along with a large baking or cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Oh, a fork or a few toothpicks. Cut the marshmallows, dust as preferred or if wanted since they are going to be coated, stab with a toothpick and dip in the melted chocolate and lay on the waxed paper to set up. You can also lower a marshmallow into the melted chocolate with a fork. Keeping the chocolate over hot water keeps it thin for dipping. Wah-la! You have the *best* rocky road candy you ever tasted. You can make it with the current (gag) cashews or almonds, but it will not be real rocky road like I grew up with. ;)
About how much of that marshmallow pan full would be used in a rice crispies treat recipe? I usually use mini marshmallows when I make them. I'm anxious to try these. I'd love to try making rice crispies treats with them. Then try s'mores. We use the microwave unfortunately. Lol. Just a little comment on store bought marshmallows. We've used Jet puft or Kroger brand for years. Recently, my husband bought bags of Freedom's Choice marshmallows at our local Commissary. Oh my word! They taste better than those name brand ones. They actually almost have a peep flavor to them. I enjoy eating them plain, more than the other brands. They make great microwave s'mores too. I really cant wait to make your version though. 😊
Love that you have the same sugar container that my Nana had. It’s my set now-sugar, flour, coffee and tea. Do you have the others in the set too? Did you inherit them like me? Questions. Questions. Questions. Sorry. Here’s more. We’re looking for a new fridge and want one just like yours. What make is it? How old is it? Does it last the test of time? ❤
Hi! I have the flour and sugar and actually picked them up at an antique store a long time ago. I love them. I’ll have to look for the others in the set now. The fridge! Ugh. So we had a fridge we lived for like 15 years and it finally died. We went shopping which is the biggest pain ever. It took us forever to debate but we found one we love. Strangely enough it was identical to the one we had that died. I guess we just are stuck in our ways. We’ve had the new one about 1.5 years and I love it. Only thing I forgot was to get the fingerprint resistant on the new one and what a big difference that made. I miss it terribly. It is a Samsung rf28t5001sr/aa and being ultra frugal we price shopped and got it at Costco. I would for sure but the same one again. Hope that helps!
@@LittleHillHomesteadGa so much, YES! Yes fridge shopping is a pain in the ASSpirstions. We’ve shopped, Agren’s, Best Buy, Costco (where I found an appliance that could be a freezer OR fridge just by adjusting the temp(🤦🏻♀️who knew THAT could be a thing, eh??). I’ll take note of the model you told me and get venturous again with the fridge shopping. But that freezer in the bottom and duel fridge doors with no ice maker is exactly what I (we)want. Thank you 😊

A lot of people are mentioning that KitchenAid quality has gone way down. It might be worth getting your old one fixed. The older ones are really made to last.

Great idea!! I totally should have done that. The cleanup was easy with a good hot water soak.
If my memory serves me right, cutting with a warm wet knife helps; rolling the marshmallow in toasted coconut is good too!
I like to add ground up freeze dried strawberries and then make rice crispies!!! YUMMY
That sounds amazing!
Peppermint marshmallows are delicious in hot chocolate. Pumpkin spice ones are great in the fall. So fun to make!

Of course! It’s honesty the part I hate the most but I’m just like you and love when others do it. Glad you are here keeping it real with me 😂

Hi! I’ve definitely made peppermint marshmallows…delicious….and toasted coconut marshmallows!!

Raw marshmallow? Oh dear!
Yumm...I'll have to make these as a gift when my daughter and her kids go camping...or get a fire set up at our house when they come to visit.
Great idea!!

That sounds super yummy!
I just made these with my youngest son. They are so good!! Thank you for the recipe!
I’m glad you both liked them!

I used to make marshmallows & Turkish delight m-a-n-y years ago! After seeing you, I'm going to have to revisit the fun times! Thank you!
Hope you enjoy
These look soo good. OMG your kitchen aid sounds like a plane engine 🤣
I hate that thing!
I hate store brought marshmallows but this I will try.
You make me want to go make marshmallows 😂I just learned how to make graham crackers, now I'll have to make smores....🥰😛Thank you!
I’m working on Graham crackers right now! The marshmallows are so much stringier and so moist.
Love your recipes
Yummy I can't wait to make these ❤
Yum
I need that because I make nougat 😊😋😋😋
When you told Alexa to set the timer, my Alexa set the timer here
Omg! That’s funny.
I love how you compare marshmallows to La Brea Tar Pits. 😂
Ha ha, I cannot help what comes out of my mouth sometimes. 😂
Check with Kitchen aid. A lot of the older ones are repairable. I have one from 1994 and if it breaks then I will try to get it repaired.
I totally need to do that.

You could use about half of the pan for rice krispies treats, but you’ll be wanting more!
@LittleHillHomesteadGa thank you! 😊

I love my old one. I think I’m going to take it apart and see what I can do to revive it.

Is that the recipe for marshmellow fluff, to use to make fudge
It can be used for that.
Can stevia be substituted in place of the sugar.
I actually haven’t tried it so I’m not sure.
You can put a square of chocolate in the middle.
Yum
You've never made these before... 🙂
We have but it’s been a few years.
