If you told me 20 yrs ago I’d be watching a video about someone ordering a truck and being excited watching it I’d call you crazy! Can’t wait to see this rig
Mike. It's great to see a company invest in their employees. You deserve this. The Cardillo's are an amazing family that have amazing employees. Can't wait to see the new rig.
Mike I’m super happy for you with this project! I must say that the Cardillo’s are an amazing family and have taken you in to the fold no doubt!! All of you gentlemen should feel honored to have each other!! I also wanted to chime in on the T-800. I really like those and they look so much better to me than the 880. Like you Mike I’m old school. My dream truck would be a needle nose Pete or KW.
An employer that orders you a new truck to keep you is defintly a company that appreciates you mike i know im not telling you anything you dont already know but i just think its great that they showed up to keep you wicked excited for you buddy glad you stayed
Congratulations 🎉to both parties!! This is an example of a hard working man being sown some well earned love and respect for what he has earned by just doing hisJob. There something about “just do your job” that gets you at the of a season✊✊✊✊✊👍
I've sat down with the last company owner I worked for ( Central Penn Transportation) 3X's in22 years to spec my next tractor. We had maybe 80 tractors. Most of the drivers were there 20-30 years. Family owned. Great bennies and pay. Treated with respect both ways. Drivers and owners of the company
New subscriber here. Just found your channel yesterday. Come January I’ll be driving for 24 years and I’ve never heard of a company doing this for one of their drivers. The Cardillo’s must be great people to work for. Maybe before I retire I’ll get lucky enough to work for people like that. Congratulations on the raise and especially the new rig!
Best video ever peace and grease,Carrillo is a class act,a man that says what he means and does what he says, congratulations, that’s what hard work gets ya,love when owners take care of their workers
Congratulations Brother ! This is absolutely a well deserved truck. Anthony Cardillo definitely knows your worth it and you he, man I am happy for you. God Bless and stay safe.
This will be 🔥 just being able to sit down with your boss and help spec your truck is awesome! I wish they could get the new W9’s to have that stance like the old A models had….it was a look that is just so damn cool! Definitely a quality truck though!
My ELDERLY Dad 95 old calls that company Carrdullo . I have to continuously correct him ie CAR DILLO DAD God love him. He used to be a hang around at River Street Plaza in the good ol' days .
Ive been following this for awhile now, and the company I work for we have the same issue, my boss is so busy with other stuff he switches me out of my excavator, and this excavator is a 2020, Cat 330, and I keep it CLEAN.. not just the cab because I work in dirt and it gets dirty easy but grease on the boom and everywhere I keep that clean, engine and inside the panels it looks clean. I take it thru the bush, building logging roads, clearing propertys and my reputation is having no dents or scratches. It gives me a sense of belonging and take care of something.. but with that said management and thw owner forgets that at times and I had it out with them over it. But some guys get to keep the same pickup truck or transport and even the boss prints the persons name on the 367 Pete dunp truck, but I dont get to be the only one who runs the excavator.. Currently Im the only one who runs it but it took alot.. what Im saying is that to keep good guys a company has to value them because its hard to replace the ones who keep trucks and mahinery in tip-top shape.. they become a extension of our body
I think its safe to say your probably gonna stay with your current company. Glad to see and cant wait to see the new truck. I wish my company would do that for me but im not where your at in trucking .... yet.
Cardillo's are definitely an amazing stand up family, obviously, theyve been one best for years,I didn't believe you were ever leaving, unless you hit your head
I spoke with a company Dynaflex that does make custom straight pipes for DPF system trucks. They might be able to custom fabricate the elbows you need.
Mike really like your content, and excited for you with staying the course. A new truck and working for a great family company. I'm sure your pretty close with the order, but wanted to pass along "the Kenworth guy" on you tube..... albeit he's in Canada but nonetheless does great builds. Company driver here for UPS just north of you, we're about the same age, stay safe out there.
Best way to avoid def stains on the stacks is to run a weed burner and hide it behind the fuel tanks or tool boxes and have dummy stacks. Most guys over here on the west coast are doing that it avoids the def gunk, the heat discoloration, and the bugs don’t get baked onto the stainless.
I've seen so many of your videos and I'm a recent subscriber and after watching this there is NO doubt this company loves and values you.....Hats of to you for staying I grew up in Massachusetts and loyalty is everything to us Massholes lol
You should check with Clint Moore and see if he can order a KW, maybe he can do it totally custom top to bottom the way he does the Petes he builds, or maybe he knows somebody that does that with KWs the way he does with Petes…just a thought
Mike love the video. One thing you have not told your viewers is what is the delivery time on the truck ? Once you get the truck what exactly is going to be done, the paint work what will be done , hood, fenders, I think you said the frame is going to be painted ? By Kenworth ? The fuel tanks are going to be painted are the straps going to be chrome, how wide will the straps be ? Big question… how long ( wheel base ) is the truck going to be ? I’m a little surprised you won’t go with bigger in diameter exhaust 6” ? I watch your videos every week please let me know via video about my questions if you can, Thanks , again love the videos !!!
Great questions! Truck painted by Kenworth including tanks, wide straps not painted, 240" wheelbase, still working on the stacks but maybe straight pipes, build sometime next March in Washington State. Thanks Todd
Mike Thanks for the reply, didn’t expect it so soon. It’s nice to see that you’re so happy with the job ! For your employer to order you a new truck they must really think a lot of you. You must be in seventh heaven ! If it were me I’m not sure how much sleep I would get at night in anticipation.
That’s going to be a sharp ride! However, you should revisit the exhaust situation. That’s only in my opinion though, I watch enough of your videos that I think you would rather deal with a bit of regen whiff periodically with a weed burner and dummies than urea stained stack, which will give you an eye twitch.
@@TheBostonTrucker let me rephrase that. I discovered this channel about a year ago or so, and I haven’t missed an episode since. My weekly highlight is “you might call this topsoil where you’re from” thanks for the videos.
I see people running new Kenworth W900L's here in the Midwest that have the DEF tank hidden in the battery box. I think its MHC Kenworth in Kansas City that's doing it.
Always good to rear mount your def tank, so you can have the same size fuel tanks if you want to hide it. Worst case wrap it the same colour as your frame assuming it’s diffferent from your fuel tanks so it blends in. New def tanks don’t line up the same as the old ones

My gosh, I could’ve had this truck ordered in 30 minutes! Salesman showing up without his laptop to show the different options is ludicrous…but even more so is him not demanding that they order an extended cab instead of a small ass regular cab
I didn't think they were still offering the W900, I was surprised you can still get flat glass you rarely see a new KW. I'm assuming you guys went with 14,600 steer axle Super 40 rears or 46,000lb lockers both rears, a single 3/8s or 1/2 inch frame. Lots to think about when ordering a new truck it will be a full year before you see you're new ride.
