All I wanna know is if they will be calibrated as poorly as they were on tge current Legion GO. The deadzones are so big that everything you do feels jerky. Not a single reviewer ever mentioned this, but there are heeps of threads regarding this issue. I got rid of mine bc of this one thing, thats how bad it was
@bhabhutiji1169 The thing about hall effect is that their calibration is way more difficult than on regular sticks. So that they failed so miserably with normal alp sticks I wouldn't have high hopes honestly

It's a feature of some newer displays that dynamically adjusts the screen's refresh rate on the fly to match the FPS you're getting, so no more having to choose between screen tearing (caused by the screen not being able the refresh the image quick enough to keep up with the pace you're rendering frames at) or stutter (caused by your FPS not being able to keep up with your screen's refresh rate). Simply put: with VRR your gameplay is gonna feel super smooth even if your FPS is unstable because the screen will adjust itself to match

Did they talk about the speakers on the Legion Go2? Improvements? That would be a deciding factor for me personally. More so than the screen. Currently I am eyeing the MSI Claw 8.
That was the only issue I had with the Legion Go. The speakers were not great. That would be the most needed upgrade for me. Great visuals mean nothing with bad sound.
Yeah they do look bigger but I'm pretty sure I or other people could 3D print something to have on it like a make the sound come forward instead of going up so it's not that serious like how some people be crying about all the speakers goes up and all this crap lol 🤦 @@victorgortz

finally a high end handheld with an oled I have always found it insane that all the alternatives to the Steam Deck just didn't even offer it as an option

@ I had the current legion go, I sold it because of the battery life but the ergonomics were perfect, never really had a problem with the weight of the device
Legion Go has easily been the best handheld for me. I've owned the Rog alley and steam deck too which are both excellent too. I modded the D pad as to be honest the stock Legion Go one is too flat and awful. But the joycon aspect of it docked to a tv makes it easily the best experience. Fitted a 2tb drive in and have all I want on the Go. I will definitely look at upgrading next Autumn after the 2 releases and kinks get ironed out.
The z2 go s chip is not an upgrade. It's a down grade and similar to the 6800u. Also the go s will have vrr while the top of the line go well have a z2 chip with an oled. But not a oled with vrr.
Awesome. I want the flexibility I have with the existing model but get why some would want a Native Steam experience. I figured, when the BF sales began that a new model must be around the corner.
Yea I def been waiting for a decent handheld. They look good for now. I need more screen resolution tho. That’s my biggest problem. Hard to go from 4K to anything lower for now
The screen has VRR but now its 1200p only at highest. 1600p is how I run my older titles and emulation, and now that option is gone. I can't see much reason to upgrade because these devices are not bang for you buck with AAA titles compared to other options for those titles.
For me, its just the Legion Go 2 or the MSI Claw 8 Plus (check out linux tech tips, this thing stays quite under heavy load it seems.. its insane). Now that Legion Go 2 will have an OLED display, puh, i think im gonna buy this one.

as someone who's never used an OLED device but loves the display on the current legion go, is it worth an upgrade? I had the same thought about the steam deck, does it make that much of a difference? Controllers being rounded at the bottom is nice, I've gotten used to the current go's controlers but that seems much more comfortable.
Boy am I glad I didn't pull the trigger on the MSI Claw 8Ai+, Lenovo tech support is way better than MSI in my country. For a handheld with intricate parts, might as well go for the cheaper and better tech support and repair centre.

Yes. I talked to the lead dude in charge of the whole device. He told me they are prioritizing speakers as one of the main improvements.
