The check one was too real. My parents who are Asian and their friends would always insist on paying the check. It takes forever until someone takes the check and goes pay...😂
My dad is Lebanese (born in US) and does the check one with relatives and friends. It seems like a generational thing with them though. Some of his friends were his frat brothers in college. I think it was worse among family members. With my own friend, we pay for our own items unless one of us has a birthday then we pay the whole bill.
Why do most Asians insist on paying the bill though? That means you have to pay the full bill with your own money, at least split it. Although personally I'm fine with someone paying for my food completely.
Funny story: Somehow one of our families paid the check (we had my family, cousins family, and other cousins family plus one of my aunts family). Now we had to decide who got the leftover food. My mom insisted my aunt takes it and my aunt insist my cousin (who's older than me) takes it and eventually my mom gave in and took it out of anger. Later I said to my sister "I don't get why they fought about who gets it. You take the food, You eat the food, Free food" obviously it wasn't free but still the more food the better, no? You pay for it then take it.
Chris Evans Is a beautiful and precious man thats my grandma actually lmao, she literally always stuffs me till i suffocate and one second later say i always eat too much and am getting fatter all the time
Italians--and many Mediterranean folks--are pretty nuts about it too. My great-grandmother used to touch, tap, shake, smell, etc., *every single piece* of produce she bought.
Yeah I understand why it's a thing in Asian cultures because they idolize fairer skin, it used to be a thing in Western countries as well, but the times changed.
Honestly when it comes to paying the second my parents find out we are going somewhere with a none Asian or with an Asian they always make it a race to see who can pay the fastest. So here is a story: One time we went to go eat with my uncle and my parents and him were fighting on who’s going to pay, so when my uncle went to the bathroom my parents paid. Year and a half later: we went to a different restaurant with my uncle and he stole my parents credit card so they couldn’t pay. Like 2 years later and we went to a restaurant and my parents payed for it 3 month in advance. 😂😂😂Love my Asian family😂😂😂

In my experience I aim for watermelons that feel really heavy and have a prominent yellow spot. Hollow sounding ones don't tend to be consistant with me, and they're often kinda dry.
Isn't the sun thing due to the skin class issues with many asian countries? Being dark skinned is not favourable as it insinuates that you work in the sun, hence why many people try to stay light skinned to insinuate that they are indoors more? It can get to the point where dark skinner people there are treated like dirt. However, in the west, darker skin and tans insinuate that you have more free time outside of the office to travel and are more healthy since you are outdoors, as lighter skin gives the impression that you are always working indoors.
Brutal Honesty You're telling me that despite the continual abuse and colour class accounts made by both the government, media, and mass amounts of skin whitening creams that are literally packed on the shelves of nearly all of the "beauty parlours", the incredible issues many asian countries have with skin colour amounting to people being labelled as the "untouchables". It's an unscientific health theory where there are "cold" and "hot" foods. All foods are somewhere on the spectrum of cold and hot, not necessarily regarding temperature. For optimum health, they try to eat a balance of cold and hot foods. But, I'm not sure how far this goes and what different things are classified as.
Jose Antonio Lanz it's because, especially in hot weather, cold drinks do more harm than good. This is because cold drinks lowers your core body temperature and make you shiver, which generates more body heat because your body thinks its cold outside. Warm water raises your body temperature and makes it generate sweat, which while sounds gross, does cool you off. Yes, it's completely opposites and why places in Mexico and Sichuan China eat so much hot and spicy foods. To generate sweat to cool you down.

this guy is smart. Its true about the food bill thing especially among the elderly they have so much experience in negotiating that its a victory to pau for the food
Using umbrella on summer was my fav! of course here in italy, italians would laugh seeing you like that, they once ask me why and i answered “because the sun is pouring heavily!!”
I am really pale and as a pale Westerner who will fry if left exposed, I can attest to having used an umbrella in the sun and getting funny looks. Tanning is bad anyway.
Kayleigh Norman yea, I don't see how its exclusive to Asians..many people do it. I don't know what you're looking for lol...maybe that it doesn't knock back?!
I love Asians so much. I can also see why no Asians are in band. I have band camp in a couple of weeks, and there's barely any shade. An Asian's worst nightmare, am I right? LOL.
I was in band...but during marching season I used my flag (I was in color guard) as shade. I remember being very upset with tan lines. +B Wong we dont we shop at anything without organic foods
I did
I laugh so hard when he check the fruits by hitting it even do I do that too, and i always see my parent's, aunt's, grandma's fight only for paying the check, and I do most of them
You guys are a lot of fun... I do realise you're actually exaggerating but I can also see that much of what you do demystifies the differences while showing exactly how similar people are. Thank you for what you do.
This is my favourite RUclips channel. Every episode is always so accurate and funny
you invite to eat? WHERE I GET ASIAN FRIENDS?
*Asian noises*
Geminingee lets go eat! LOL
It's considered really rude if you split the bill or not fight for the bill
Min YoonGi omg! well I dont like when other people pay everything. I prefer splitting
Good to know then
this guy is smart. Its true about the food bill thing especially among the elderly they have so much experience in negotiating that its a victory to pau for the food
The Asian squat = the biggest mystery ever
Have you ever tried it after standing for hours on end? It's a huge relief because it's as if you're sitting.
I'm Caucasian and I have always done it
we in Poland do it too, especially we do it in polish squatting circles and sometimes it involves one alcoholic beverage we all share 😉
davecsaszarable I'm Italian and I do it... it's a little embarrassing tho because all my friends are like 'lol wut r u doing'
It's because it's not the Asian squat. Slavic and Latino people do it all the time too.
We are from Louisiana and we did the sharing food thing constantly
Man I am Indian descent and even I can totally relate, specially the bill pay at the end. Awesome work man. Keep it up
everything is relatable but the last one isn’t my little brother gets scared that my family always says “okay so hoang is paying today right?”
You should rename Westerners into Americans, because a lot of the things that were said to be tipical for asians we do in Europe also :P XD
ive seen a lot of asian and middle eastern people always fighting to pay the check lol
I love your “white person” wigs! 😂
The umbrella thing is actually pretty popular in Arizona during the summer so we dont get severe sun burns when it's 110+ outside
The check thing is so true. Whenever we go out for dinner with my mum's parents, my mum and her father always fight for the bill.
As an asian, I don't remember wanting to pay for the meal
Friend: No no, I pay I pay!
Me: Ok lor, I save money
1:11 me every time when I have to wait in public
RUclips please stop recommending asian channels just because i watched ONE kpop video
Wakiki Demore Lol
Wakiki Demore you should watch EXO, BTS, GOT7, BlackPink, Twice, SNSD and F(x)
NiuNiu Liu i love these groups bro i watch them all day
It's too late my friend we have sucked you in and there is no escape
Wakiki Demore 😂😂😂
That was hilarious with the check! Omg great video!
Using umbrella on summer was my fav! of course here in italy, italians would laugh seeing you like that, they once ask me why and i answered “because the sun is pouring heavily!!”
The check part is right
i laughed all through tis
me too! especially the watermelon tapping.....Mike went too over...XD the tofu would've crumbled omg
i almost peed! :D
HippieTheHippo I showed my mom that part and she laughed a lot while grinning CX It was pretty amusing
xdddddddd
+Becca-chan 34 my mom too! She was like "Nobody goes tapping on the apple and tofu!!!" The check one was too funny. 😂😂😂😂
OMG THE PARIS AND CHINATOWN ONE HAHAHAHAHA
thanks guys for sharing, absolutely educative
seriously...... I was laughing the whole video !! it is so relatable !
I am really pale and as a pale Westerner who will fry if left exposed, I can attest to having used an umbrella in the sun and getting funny looks.
Tanning is bad anyway.
Yi's aunt
impression looks like my aunt
Lol the check thing is actually very true for me
That umbrella thing is so true. 😅😅😅
Mentioning umbrellas, look up "Do Oregonians really hate umbrellas?" Umbrella use in Oregon is uncommon; this includes during raining weather.
Reasons to eat with an Asian: Free lunch
1:25 omfg my mom does that too lmfao
I'm not Asian but I tap my fruit and veg too. it's a great way to tell if they're ripe :)
Kayleigh Norman yea, I don't see how its exclusive to Asians..many people do it. I don't know what you're looking for lol...maybe that it doesn't knock back?!
Great video, thanks to you guys for making such a great video.
Doesn't everyone inspect their food before choosing to buy it at the grocery store?
Squeeze the soft fruit, thump the hard fruit... etc, etc, etc.
The umbrella and the watermelon one is so true 😂😂😂😂 (I am Asian)
These are so right and really funny
I love Asians so much. I can also see why no Asians are in band. I have band camp in a couple of weeks, and there's barely any shade. An Asian's worst nightmare, am I right? LOL.
There's more Asians in band here (Cali). And most of us don't care if it's sunny
Coco LovesBears California, why am I not surprised. xD Lool, where I'm at. Great aid southern heat. My ex is the only Asian in our band.
+Unrecognized Xavier is that kyungsoo as your profile pic?
Binoo Goog ~Eye roll~ Yeahhh
I was in band...but during marching season I used my flag (I was in color guard) as shade. I remember being very upset with tan lines.
My cousin was in tennis and gawd...her mom actually cried because she got soooo dark.
& I wasn't allowed to go to camp, but that was more of a double standard thing, since I am a girl.
I’m Asian but I never heard or seen people argue about who wants to pay. In my family or country in general, person who hosts must pay.
OMG. The thing with sharing the food and people fighting over the check is so true lol😂😂😂
Now I really really wish I had a pushy Asian auntie :)
you're lucky you don't cx
Haha sometimes they're better than having indifferent family members though
Spencer Hastings Lmao my relatives tells me I am a skeleton and I should gain more weight
2:21 - 2:34 greatest roast on online history
Nice to know most of the food I ate was tapped by the Asians :]
Chana Schwartz *giggle*
The last one is so true!!! When we are buying stuff our parents or relatives literally fight over who is going to pay. 😂😂😂
Cute!
I seriously wish we would adopt the umbrella use! I also don't get why we tend not to use umbrellas in the snow
from singapore :D
min suga good.
I am from Europe.
Nice to meet you!
min suga aye ARMY

min suga hello I'm from sg too :) n also a A.R.M.Y
SINGAPOREAN HERE 2
I'm as white as a bowl of rice and I knock on melons at the grocery too. glad I'm not the only one to do it lol
Aunty: here is ur red packet to me
Mum: no no no u keep it
Aunty:no no no u have it
Mum: no no no u keep it
Repeats
In the end we always keep the red packet
The umberella part. Where I am from we have paraplu (for rain) and parasol (for sun). The only diffrence is that parasol a gigantic sunscreen for in the garden is..
That check thing though... it's so true... I never understood that, but then my grandmother explained that it was disgraceful to not pay and is an honor to pay (with the exception of weddings). It's a bit weird, even to me...
