  • Cab Rig is our next-generation DSP speaker simulator that reproduces the sound and feel of a mic’d up guitar cab in incredible detail.
Learn more and download Architect here: www.blackstara...
Cab Rig’s new advanced algorithm can simulate a speaker cabinet and room with effectively zero latency, no phase mismatch and much more flexibility than an IR snapshot. Deep-dive using the accompanying software to capture the incredible tones via USB / XLR out or headphones.
Cab Rig Lite software enables you to fine tune the simulated relationship between mic and speaker delivered through the Blackstar ID Core V3's direct USB recording output. Unlike ‘snapshot’ IRs these responses are customisable by the player.

First, why this great little amp is not bluetooth compatable is beyond me. I did order the bluetooth adapter (wait... I just answered my own question 🙄)
Either way, the old-tech connection point makes no sense. In my opinion, this versatile amp ought to come standard with a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter and the mini usb to standard usb cable. This would make all of its features usable right out of the box instead of having to search for an obscure cable, which kind of brings us back to the first point.
I love the available features, the easy software and the price-point. I actually use this amp for our band rehearsals/gigs by running the headphone line into our mixer playing directly into the house speakers from there.
This amp gives me a decent measure of effects control without the annoying rehearsal/gig delays between songs encountered through the pedal chains of three separate guitarists.
Our drummer can roll his eyes at the other guys. I don't the sport the coolest looking gear on stage, but it isn't me putting a halt to the lead-in count of our drummer.
Less, as they say, is more.

My only gripe with this amp is that it doesnt use USB-C and doesng ship with the very out of date mini usb cable, which means buying an old cable not used in anything else modern. Just a thought, otherwise its a great amp and i wouldve loved to have one as my first amp

Bought any Id core v2 a few months back. Its a great amp, but the shortcomings really left a sour taste in my mouth.
Using a stupidly dated usb cable and not even packing one in the box felt like a big middle finger.
Seeing that they still havnt learnt this lesson is a little disappointing. If the vaping Industry can standardise usb c in a matter on months, surely black star could have done the same.

@Blackstar Amplification I bought this amp mainly for bedroom practice and live-streaming, recently i started messing with the cablite rig. Where do i buy the TRRS to dual 6.35mm cable? is it TRRS or TRS?

Will I'd core v2 amps be able to use the new software via USB? The last software was incredibly sloppy and dated. Not to mention the usb cable you guys chose... And didn't include in the box of the v2s.
Skipping usb c in this new line is a massive oversight. It really just looks like you lot are cutting corners.

I live with my family and I want to play without making noise so does that mean if I connect my hedphones in the cab rig I will be the only one hearing the guitar?

Thanks for your comment Raphael! Yes when connecting headphones to the cab rig output on the ID:Core V3 it will muste the amp for silent practice! Hope this helps!

Hi Gecko RC! The ID Core does not have a separate output for Cab Rig I'm afraid, however you can use the emulated output for connecting to a mixer or recording device.🤘🤘

@@Blackstaramps love my 40 watt and 100 watt, V2, was going to trade my 40 for the new V3. Is the cab rig lite usable on the amp itself, through the speaker, or does it have to be used through a PA?

Whenever I connect headphones, I hear a lot of noise even with nothing connected to the amp. What is the problem? Can it be the low impedance of the headphones (16 Ohm)? The noise does not change when changing the volume or gain or whatever knob.
Interestingly, connecting the output of the AMP to Zoom u-22 and monitoring via zoom does not produce as much noise.

Have you tried different headphones by chance? Also via Architect the CabRig output has a master level control, this could well be set too high,

    • @bassimat

I am experiencing the same issue. I tried with 3 different headphones. The level of white noise is really a pain. If I don't find a solution, I will return it.
      Do you have any suggestion?

Is the cab simulator available for I’d-core 100 & idbeam amps?

      Hi Daniel!
Cab Rig is built into the hardware of the new ID:Core V3's and so unfortunately isn't present on the earlier BEAM or ID:core High Powered ranges - you can however use all other elements of the new Architect software with both of these amps 👍
