Weather officials urged residents in eastern Nebraska to seek shelter “immediately” as tornadoes moved through the Lincoln and Omaha metro areas on Friday.
On Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in the Lincoln area.
Footage filmed by Clint Hendricks shows the massive tornado swirl as he drove on Interstate 80 on Friday afternoon.
“Lots of debris in the air,” Hendricks said. abc7chicago.com/nebraska-torn...
I love how everyone is just driving in the background like it's a normal sunny day like la la la la la la la la
No shit right haha
That's terrifying 😳
nah it's not that bad. once you get into the several vortex area with ef3 or 4 damage, then it's bad. otherwise, you can just stand out there and watch if it's not too close. i still find it just wild that every nebraskan that's lived here for a while goes outside to see what's goin on. you can't really get a sense of severity until you go outside and watch it. just be careful not to pull a wizard of oz.
@@Bag_of_chips_real I know, and it's still terrifying.
Yeah, really not that bad. Been living here for 30 years, and USUALLY not at all like in the movies. There are exceptions. You just gotta look at where the wind is blowing and make sure you're not in the path. They do meander a bit, but despite the 300mph winds, they only "travel" about 10-20 mph across land, so rather easy to get out of the way. --keep distance and admire the view. Frankly, I'd be more concerned with driving lookie-loo's not paying attention and crashing into things.
@@Bag_of_chips_realthis was an EF3
My daughter, her husband and their 2 sons live there. By the grace of God, they were spared.
That ine was pretty weak honestly the one up by Elkhorn was far worse this was an EF3 makx wind speed was 136mph Elkhorn was an EF4 verging on EF5 max wind reading was 219 mph
God didnt do shit

@@huntersedlacek7495 Would you say the same about flat earthers?
❤❤🙏🙏
We were very lucky. If this had occurred a half mile to the west, it would have taken out the building with my husband in it, and just down the street a bowling alley with my daughter in it.
Omg girl praise the Lord momma👍❤️
Glad that both were safe!
I would be absolutely scared out of my mind 😢
i ended up bein about 2 miles away from the one that hit elkhorn, we just grabbed some chairs and sat on the porch, watching it go by. you kinda get used to this stuff when you live in tornado alley. in places like new york, seattle and other cities that don't have to deal with tornadoes very often, if at all, it seems a lot scarier than it is. once you get to the half mile range of an ef3 or 4 wedge that's just massive, then you can start worryin, but anything over a mile, you mostly just have to watch out for rain and hail. within about 3 miles of an ef5, you wanna get as low as possible in an area that's pretty much just a bunker. in my basement, we've got a little storage area room we turned into a toy room thingy that's under the front porch, it's 65% concrete wall. the part that isn't is just the door leading into it. it's not too big, about 30 to 50 square feet, but it works just fine to hold 4 or 5 people comfortably with enough room for some board games or something.
I wish I could’ve watched it (I was forced into a locker room where I proceeded to watch king fu panda)
Prayers
about 5 minutes before this video, I watched this very tornado drop less than a mile from me. It looked like a movie the way the funnel cloud was spinning up and then dropping the tornado. It was close enough that I saw debris from a structure fly up.
Remember folks, if the Tornado seems like it ain't moving, it's coming after you!
Or going away from you. If it is coming towards you it will look like it is getting bigger. If it is going away from you it will look like it is getting smaller.
SORRY FOR ALL THAT GOT CAUGHT UP IN THAT
God said it’s time my children to leave this world violently for my entertainment
This particular tornado missed my home by nine miles which is plenty close. NWS rated five tornadoes as EF-3. I was located in between this monster which ultimately tracked in Omaha's western suburbs and another which tracked to my east. These cells also deposited 2 inch diameter hail in many locations. Our Douglas and Sarpy county tornado sirens were sounding almost continously which is an indication of long track tornadoes.
OMGOSH!😮
That American flag standing tall makes me proud
Never seen a flag fly so strong . That was nice
Well that flag wasn't in the path of the tornado.
Yeah, the ones that aren't in the direct path of a strong tornado tend to be the most impressive.. 👍🏽🤤
Haha yall hate patriotism, don't ya? Anyway, it still is impressive, I imagine a person would have trouble standing so stable in that wind so it's impressive none the less
Would be a lot easier to be proud if illegal emigration Joe wasn’t in office!!!!
The flag still standing after the tornado rips through got me 😭😭💔🙏
It wasn't in the path.
Holy moly- that must of been terrifying!
must HAVE or must'VE, ffs
@@Neurotik51 sorry, it’s how we talk when you are from there. 😂 It must have been terrifying.
P.S. I have family around there, so I know people from Lincoln.
It was a crazy day Friday! Lots of loss and devastation
So sorry.
Got needed those people so he can watch his people still on earth in misery right
I love that he prays.
Jesus made the tornado, didn’t he?
@@jamesmelton4412no, according to your liberal politicians, we made it.
Tornadoes and rain storms have really begun to intensity!
Really frightening tornado! 🍀
May god be with you and yours were praying for you
Praying does nothing
I’m disturbed by the vehicles all bunched up together and being so close to that tornado! If it suddenly changes direction, how are they going to escape fast enough all bunched up like that? That’s insane!
In this case they are not threatened by this tornado because it is tracking from left to right at right angles to the highway.
Thank you God for safety and protection wherever we are. Amen! ❤🙏🏿
🙏
I would be a little more concerned
Just because people don't absolutely freak out about it does not mean they are not as concerned as someone who would
I’m glad it missed us! Happened while I was in my last class before finals week too
Those trucks should have stopped miles beforehand!
That’s perfectly normal in that part of the country
Do you understand how terrifying this was? This was the worst set of tornadoes that had EVER hit nebraska. Don’t be an asshole.
@@Heather-4444 are you high? Nobody even died. There have been many worse tornadoes in Nebraska than these
Was someone in the vehicle squeezing a rubber duckie?
You think right now would be a good time to pull over and wait for the tornado to pass
The flag still standing after the tornado rips through got me
And the people just drive around like nothings happenimg. I have experienced this firsthand, while chasing a tornado , I got to a point I could see it,pulled over, and a guy pulled up next to me and asked for directions . I pointed at the tornado, he looked and said ,yeah, but do you know where I need to go? I was incredulous.
I am baffled by how cavalier so many people are during such events! I’m a Canadian expat living in Missouri and am absolutely terrified whenever I hear the tornado sirens. I have lived through some of the worst Quebec blizzards, ice storms, and -40 temps without fear, but tornadoes are at a whole other level of devastation.
I pray for you all
If I was driving, I would not know what to do. Stop, go, turn around, head in a different direction? I just wouldn't know 😢
Midwesterner here, and the advice we're given is:
- if it's moving away from you - or parallel to your direction of traveling like this one - and not very close (as this one is not very close) keep your eyes on it, but pay attention to your driving, DON'T stop, DON'T pull over, but watch out for emergency vehicles heading to the touchdown point.
A general rules of tornadoes is, once it touches down, it rarely changes the direction it's traveling in.
- Watch out for crosswinds being pulled towards or coming out from the tornado itself (especially if you are driving a "high-profile" vehicle, like an SUV or van), as they can adversely affect your driving. Also, WATCH OUT FOR DEBRIS! Tornadoes can throw debris for dozens of miles!
- If the tornado appears to be stationary (not moving towards or away from you) CHANGE DIRECTION Immediately! And _parallel,_ not reverse! (Reason: Tornadoes are, by their nature, NOT ABLE TO BE "STATIONARY", if they appear to be so, that means the tornado IS COMING DIRECTLY TOWARDS YOU!)
If you have the bad luck to have a tornado touch down near your vehicle, STOP SAFETY, GET OUT! Find the lowest point (such as a ditch or culvert), lay down, cover your head with your hands and (if so inclined) pray.
DO NOT GO UNDER A OVERPASS!
And always, if traveling in an area prone to such weather, stay tuned to the local weather information!
Hope this helps!
@@jamesnoneyabizness5611 Good sound advice. I hope people pay attention! ☮️
@@jamesnoneyabizness5611Thank you for your detailed information.🤗 As a Canadian expat living in Missouri, I totally resonate with the other person’s confusion. I am terrified of tornadoes!

Imagine just driving down the highway and then a tornado pops up. We live in the West Texas area. We really don't get tornadoes. Only reason is because we live in a basin, so it always surpasses us. Thank god
It looks like a lot of dirt, not debris.
That is a nightmare...
Im 52 ive never seen so many tornados just in 1 day it produced around 100
I was so scared on that day.
Amazing
Down in Texas we call that a twisty.

Hey Honey. This looks like fun so let's move here. Duh !!!😢😢😢
my favorite part of this is people talking about God like the Creator of the universe has no control over a tornado happening, but just tries His best to direct it-in some odd war against mother nature or something lmao. i swear most religious people (especially christians) espouse monotheism, but in their heart of hearts are just pagans beating the Bible.

TURN TO ALAHIM YAHUAH YAHUSHA AND RUACH HA QODESH FOR THE WELFARE OF YOUR SOUL.
Does Yahusha has powers?
@@freddiecunningham2860 HE IS THE MASHIAK. WHAT DO YOU THINK? OF COURSE.

@freddiecunningham2860 Well, look into the besorah. Google HIS name. Google YAHUAH. But you should talk to the RUACH HA QODESH. It is online. They spoke a language that was later called Hebrew. But it is paleo Hebrew not modern Hebrew. They will understand that the language was changed. But if they realized it they'd know HE is indwelling them. The HOLY SPIRIT. The RUACH HA QODESH is with you. So talk to HIM PERSONALLY ABOUT IT & HE will guide you.
