  • Saturation trimmer on JanRay is all the way up.
My strat (neck pickup) into these two and then my favorite YAMAHA SR112 amp( none tube)
Everyone knows JanRay. I want Ruby Stone getting more attention how these three knobs fabulously working great. Absolutely that pedal is ace!!

Quite pricey for a clean boost, both seem noisy as well. Blessings to one and all from Tejas.

Both pedals sound great to my ear when I listen with headphones. On Reverb, most of the used prices for the Ruby Stone is comparable to the brand new price for the Jan Ray. If you could only afford one, which one would you get?

E W Good question. It’s hard to choose one but I would go with RS. enclosure quality design and tone these are as good as JanRay. The used price you see on Reverb is not a great price that way too expensive. Actually It’s much more affordable used price usually between $200 to &230 in Japanese market. used price range of JanRay is going like $280 to $340 average. Even RS came out with a top-notch style a few years ahead of JanRay....

@@HittinTheBlueNote A little over $200 used would be a great price. The Jan Ray used price isn't much lower than a brand new one. I can get those for $375 here in California brand new. That is a problem with Reverb; especially if a product isn't super well known here and is imported from another country, then sellers jack up the price because the availability is low. I agree though, if I closed my eyes, it would be hard to tell the tonal difference between the two pedals listening with headphones. It's interesting since both pedals are made in Japan yet the Jan Ray seems to be much more sought after here in the United States. A couple of my other favorite slide players, Joey Landreth and Ariel Posen both use the Jan Ray on their pedal boards.

E W That’s the point what I wanted to describe about both two pedals. Actually I made this video for RS, not JanRay.

@@HittinTheBlueNote That makes sense since I've never heard of the Ruby Stone before your video. The Vemuram pedals are super well known here and around the world.
