Good content, my only criticism is that people often misinterperet the alveolar gas equation as that CO2 directly impacts O2 at the alveolus due to the finite space (total alveolar pressure). The alveolar gas equation was derived from two separate formula. For CO2 itts Vco2/VA (Pb-47) For O2 its PIo2 -PAO22 = VO2/VA (Pa-47). the alveolar equation was derived because we dont know what PAo2 is and can't measure it easily. We therefor take advantage of oxygen aconsumption and CO2 production at the cellular level using the RQ. Read physiology of respiration by Michael Hlastala or Robb Glenny Teaching ventilation/perfusion relationships in the lung. They both reference that Gas exchange of o2 and Co2 are independent of eachother but linked by metabolism RQ.

    Nicely done!
Please explain why would PaO2 & PaCO2 decrease?
A detail on the answer "... due to read spaces" would be appreciated.

sir i am not getting how the O2 and CO2 equilibrates if we say PAO2 is 100 and pressure of O2 at start of cappilary is 40 so in order to become equal it should be 70 70 that prevents further diffusion and for CO2 it 24. plz help
