    Great video, Unders!
What a lot of mastering engineers don't mention is that the default settings are not taking into consideration the loudness measurement.
So just like in the good old CD days there is no normalization taking place unless a user intervenes in the case of streaming software. Many years ago I started using 0.7 as a maximum peak but considering compression schemes like Opus will take that peak above zero I go with the -1 true peak standard. And even that will encode over zero with opus sometimes.
The end of the day I just want to have the music I enhance sound as good as it can without destroying the musical dynamics so that's how I've worked for over a decade and that's how I'll continue to work.

Thanks so much. I did my best to get the key points of a touchy subject across and the reasoning for them.
Have you found it’s a particular circumstance whereby -1 can still error into a clip?

@@Unders you did a great job explaining everything.
For limiters going past -1? Yes I noticed that some do even if you have true peak limiting enabled on some meters they will show as going over. But the way I look at it if I am limiting at -1 then that is a decibel better than what a lot of other engineers are doing either by choice or by force!

I don't buy a word when grammy winning professional engineers say they don't care about LUFS and it's all about "how it sounds". Come on gentlemen, let's be honest once and for all, you are all measuring up to the tenth of a dB to try to beat your references…

The general conclusion is that comes from the clients. An not necessarily the artist.
