Here's the thing - I am a mad-keen fan of the Pogues, and this is about the only Xmas song I'll tolerate, mainly because it's not really about Xmas. While this is a very, very good cover, it can't possibly match the original. It's not supposed to be operatic or metal. This is a drunken lament. Shane MacGowan has the ideal voice for it. Plus they voluntarily censored it. Besides, Kirsty MacColl has the voice of a fallen angel and simply cannot be replaced.

Wrong! Tommy could pull it off by himself with his range, as he did in Phantom of The Opera. Also, check out Dan Vasc doing Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Angels We Have Heard On High, all done by himself. It's not the fact that it's a duet that really bothers me; I'm just not a fan of this particular singer. Violet Orlandi and Tommy together would have been absolutely amazing! Have yourself an EPIC Merry Christmas!
