My last boss had something like that in south of Paris I often go to it because archives of the company that we often needed to consult for work (trustee of condominiums) were there. I ate there when I had to go. The cook (a woman) of this small master chateau which had no less than 30 rooms, a private forest, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a nightclub for 300 people, etc., prepared the meal for us in a fully-equipped kitchen. the style of the one presented in this video, with exactly this type of stove (not at all new like the ones we see here, no, really old but well keep safe), with a very large massive table with wood weathered by the years; white wall tiles like those of the Paris metro. I remember that she used these huge cast iron pans to prepare sublime porcini mushrooms freshly picked and seared in better accompanied by garlic, Guérande salt, and pepper which she covered, when cooked, with beaten eggs from the farm to make the best omelet you can taste. I felt like I was leaping back in time, in the history of my country. What also amused me a lot was that the room considered to be the toilet was the size of my bedroom in my own flat! These are wonderful memories... :)

I have loved this Chateau for many years. I cried for the beauty of it, when I first laid my eyes on it. I hope I can replicate the gardens to some effect, to the home and walled gardens of this wonderful place.
It looks like the house that was the inspiration for ( or possibly actually filmed there) ‘ The Lady in White’ , especially the patio and French doors area. Agnes Moorhead won an Oscar for her portrayal, but I’ve forgotten what year. What an amazing place. Wouldn’t take much to convince me to live there.🥰
Warmer than most of these types. I could see myself skipping into the kitchen to make coffee and gazing outside with awe. Good combination of elegance, warmth and character. The gate is lovely and inviting. No bad vibes!

In theory, certainly. But you can extrapolate the amount of upkeep it would need. It would need a team of people on paid salary to keep it looking pristine. Chateaus could be places for small businesses to flourish. In the 16th-17th century, a chateau typically employed over 30 people. It is not a place for a single family to live and do it all themselves. As one could see, it would take all day just to clean one room.
How utterly marvelous! So many beautiful chateaus & mansions in France for sale since decades, but maintenance costs, restrictions by gov., tax fonc., tax habit. et plus& plus. Not many people can afford it. And then it is so often like: "Another one bites the dust". I´d love to own and care for it, if only...
Seldom am I so blown away viewing a montage illustrating a chateau. My mind wanders. An abode of this caliber demands an equally impressive occupant. The understated archaic opulence ticks boxes I previously had not entrenched; commanding introspection. Who would I be living at such an estate? How would I change; what would I _emerge_ as?
