    I see plenty of people working on laptops but very few on PC mainboards. I suppose there's more money in laptops but I like what you're doing. Your content is as good as any of theirs. Too bad this one didn't work out!

      Exactly that, there is basicly no money in ATX desktop board, exspecially with all the dead PCH´s i am getting!

    As per usual. An amazing sleuthing job! Very entertaining logical progression through the circuitry.

    You could technically re-ball in an oven. You can't delaminate/popcorn a PDB in an oven because all layers expand the same amount, the only problem is working with the oven door in the way. Then it's just a matter of:- Heat in oven and pull the chip, stencil and paste the balls on the chip, then oven it back on.

      Assuming he has a big enough oven, the plastics such as sata connectors, ram slots, pcie slots will melt and caps will bulge. And worst of all, even if he managed to overcome those issues, there is no point in reballing a shorted PCH. PS : He has a hot air station and a pre-heater.

    • @15dejo
      @15dejo Месяц назад

      Yes he can do reball or replace the chip without any problem, I am doing reballing and replaceing chip every, day, maybe he don't have experience for that

      @MainboardMedic  Месяц назад +3

      @@15dejo There was a time i tried doing that with scrap boards, but i always had probelms with warping and the chip as a result not seeting properly, i am currently trying to get a full sized preheater to do BGA work!

    The motherboard might have liquid damage from running in an humid environment as well. Humid environment might've caused some short and that brought down the pch

    It’s not a dip switch, it’s called a potentiometer.

    why the pch is going to die? as i saw your explanation(very thanks for full explanation of schematic) nothing else is broken, just because of going too much hot pch going to die?

    • @MainboardMedic
      @MainboardMedic  Месяц назад

      At the beginning we already saw very low resistance on the PCH! Also a signal coming from the PCH is missing! and third it goes to over 100 degrees within like 2 seconds! Any more reasons to belive that the pch is gone?

    • @MainboardMedic
      @MainboardMedic  Месяц назад +2

      @@pegmanashhad7771 There is basicly nothing you can do as an end user to prevent this from happening! Only few thing are: keep your pc clean and the tmeps low and dont do anything bad with the USB because that is almost directly connected to the PCH. But they often sadly just die!

      Would need to check if the R G B get signals or not or else you might only have one color or just the 5V there!
