I’m curious why the relay valve makes the apply/release faster. Is it connected with a smaller diameter pipe from the brake valve, and therefore less volume of air is needed to signal the apply/release?
yes like an electrical relay you use a small amount of air to control a large amount of air

I feel like a genius now...Question how do solve the problem when you notice a delay in the release of the Emergency braking?
Check diaphragm leakage in spring brake section of the chamber or the push rod have bent.
