Super Bowl XII should've been the Dallas Cowboys vs. the defending champion Oakland Raiders. Horrible blown fumble call on the goal line helped the Broncos win the '77 AFC champ game. The Cowboys and Raiders, despite their dominance in the 70's never met in the "Big Game", and it would've been great to see them go head to head. Would've definitely been a better game than the dud we got.
The NFL-AFL World Championship 1 (aka Super Bowl 1) - Chiefs vs Cowboys. Both teams founded in Dallas - the rivalry that started it all to be the first "Super Bowl"? Yes please
Super Bowl XII - Dallas Cowboys vs Oakland Raiders instead of Denver Broncos. "America's Team" with "Captain America" at quarterback wearing the white jerseys, vs. the league's ultimate renegades who didn't give a f***, wearing the silver and black.
Really? Given that SB53 was played in Atlanta, did you *really* want Atlanta’s NFL fans to endure the agony of seeing their most hated rival playing against the team that gave the city its greatest gridiron humiliation?
This year: Cleveland and Detroit. Two classic NFL teams who were first class before the merger finally reach their first Super Bowl together. It could still happen, but this year would have had the added sociopolitical element: two downtrodden but proud rust belt cities duke it out in Las Vegas, the boom town of boom towns, in *its* first Super Bowl. Also, if it happens next year, that means Deshaun might be a SB QB 🤮
I am older and I notice. Not a lot of people are talking about 1985. I was around for that and I can tell you, the whole nation wanted the Miami Dolphins versus the Chicago Bears. How the Patriots made the SB still perplexes me, but The only team with any shot against the bears that year was Miami. I know the bears fans wanted the rematch to get revenge as well. This one doesn't get talked about as much just because of how far back it is, But after watching this whole list and being a huge NFL fan, I would say other than 1998, this was easily #2 on the list if you asked everyone watching football at the time.

If it wasn’t for the Browns, this would be true. I think we were deprived of the best shot we’ve ever had of Browns-Lions in the “one of them is actually gonna win it” Super Bowl. Sad too bc one of those teams got blown out in the wild card round, but given both teams have gone 0-16 in the last 15yrs and are the longest tenured teams without a SB appearance it would’ve been one for the ages. Honorable mention to the formerly Chicago based Cardinals who currently have the longest championship drought in North American sports, but aren’t the “Cubs” bc they at least played in a Super Bowl(and nearly won it).
I would rather have seen Buffalo vs San Francisco instead of the Giants in Super Bowl XXV. Niners going for the three peat against the super charged Bills. Would have been a high scoring game.

This year. Bengals-Lions would have been neat. If Burrow was healthy I think the Bengals would have made it to the SB. They crushed the 49ers earlier in the year and almost beat the Chiefs with a backup QB.
Chiefs/Bucs didn't live up to the hype. It was all about Brady passing the torch and a legacy game if Mahomes won. But Brady one to be up in super bowls 7-1 at the time and game wasn't close
2018 Chiefs vs Rams. That same year, Rams beat the Chiefs 54-51 on Monday night football. One of the greatest regular season games ever. That was ALMOST going to be a rematch in the Super Bowl if Dee Ford didn’t line up offsides 😑
Don’t forget the other SB 20 possibility: Bears/Raiders LA was actually the AFC 1 seed and had played Chicago in a hard hitting game the previous year Plus Miami never beat the Raiders when they were coached by Tom Flores
What? The Pats weren’t even in the AFC Title Game that year. It was the Jets. Now NY-GB would’ve been something to see. The Sanchize against Aaron Rodgers. Loads of people would be rooting for the Jets. Ironic that Rodgers is with Gang Green now after being a spoiled brat in Wisconsin and he was knocked out four snaps into his Jets career with an Achilles injury. Now I loved seeing that as a Vikings fan, but as a defensive-minded fan, it reminded me of when Anthony Barr took out Rodgers with a broken collarbone in 2017. The very next off-season, the NFL approves all of these new “protections” for QBs right when Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and the next generation of young QBs are about to make their rise. Now doesn’t that seem a bit suspicious? The NFL is so biased towards QBs that they will do anything to protect them, even if it discriminates against the defense. Very symbolic of the two-tiered justice system we have in this country. The offense gets protected, the defense never gets the benefit of the doubt. Look at other sports and tell me if I’m wrong, cuz I know I’m not. The Pats were beaten by the Jets in the AFC playoffs that year and I can remember a Jets player saying at the end of his interview on the field in Foxboro “Can’t wait!” Well, that’s a jinxing comment. Can’t wait for what? To get your asses beat by Pittsburgh and go on a decade and a half long playoff drought? Hahaha. 😂.
Dallas Cowboys vs Oakland Raiders Super Bowl 12 Tom Landry vs John Madden. Roger the Dodger vs Snake Stabler Instead we got the Cowboys defense dominating the Cinderella Broncos in a very sloppy game with 10 turnovers. 7 of them by the Broncos in just the first half.
Which is why I didn't see it-- Super Bowl XVII (Miami/Washington) was the one I saw (this one on DVD, w/John Riggins' magnificent MVP rushing performance of 166 yards, including that famous 43 to a TD on 4th and 1).
When we had buffalo who's 0-4 in the superbowl and Detroit who's never been to the superbowl in the championships and end up with what we got this year. We'll safe to say this year qualifies. Won't be watching the superbowl yet again.
The Raiders and Cowboys were the NFL's two biggest marquee teams in the '70s. Three times both teams were a game away from facing each other in the Super Bowl, and all three times at least one team lost. Even worse, the only Cowboys-Raiders game of that entire decade was a completely meaningless season finale during the one time in an 18 YEAR STRETCH the Cowboys missed the playoffs (they were eliminated before the game). It also was a game away from happening in '80 as well. IMO this is the ultimate Super Bowl what if.
They didn't mention Patriots vs Packers for Super Bowl 49 which was supposed to happen if the Packers didn't blow a 16-point lead against the Seahawks in 2015. That matchup could of been Aaron Rodgers vs Tom Brady.
I wish we could've seen a Raiders Cowboys superbowl. Tom Landry vs John Madden. Ken Stabler vs Roger Staubach. 2 of the best teams in the 70s gojng at it. It would've been a classic
For Super Bowl 37, I was actually hoping for a Titans-Buccaneers Super Bowl. As for that no-call back in the NFC Championship Game between the Rams and Saints, the Saints still had a chance to do something in overtime. They had the ball to begin OT, but failed to take care of the ball. I’m not disregarding the pass interference call that wasn’t called, but you can’t blame it all on that.
I would change the 2003 SB Raiders vs Buccaneers to the previous year, instead of Rams vs Patriots. It shouldve been Rams vs Raiders. This was the infamous "Tuck Rule" that saw the Patriots move on. It wouldve been awesome to see a shootout between Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt vs Rich Gannon, Tim Brown, Jerry Rice. And Jon Gruden to the SB with the Raiders means he mightve stayed longer with the Raiders instead of being traded to Tamp Bay.
That missed Fins-Bears Super Bowl hurts my soul to this day. It's no consolation to have definite proof that at least the NFL wasn't rigged at that point. That game would've set the record for the highest rated TV show ever, guaranteed. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this is what got the NFL to start rigging certain outcomes.
Yes, because all these younger people are saying, 2018 Rams/Chiefs.. a rematch of a great MNF game. I want to tell them that original was 1985, and it was the most hyped MNF game ever. I hate the patriots for ruining that rematch for the entire nation. It's funny because you get a lot of fans of specific teams on here, but I can tell you, the entire country outside of boston wanted the rematch of the bears and dolphins. The only season I think that can even compare is 1998.
Reverse the two championship games in Super Bowl XIV so we have an all time uniform Super Bowl: Houston Oilers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers OR, Super Bowl XXXI being a flip of the championship game winners and the Jags and Panthers faceoff int he Super Bowl in both of their second years in the league
Tone def. The bucs won 8 straight before heading into the playoffs. They were steam rolling teams. So to say that Green Bay was on the road to a super bowl is a little farfetched.

I'm fairly certain that all three Seahawks SB appearances come under the heading of 'disappointing' for most of the NFL. But you could say that about fully 75% of SB match-ups. Unless you're a big market team with a rabid fanbase, the No Fun is always disappointed.
Super Bowl 12. It would've been great to see Stabler's Raiders vs Staubach's Cowboys. The Raiders got robbed in the AFC Championship vs the Broncos. The Broncos then got wallopped by the Cowboys 27-10 in the Super Bowl. It should've been Madden vs Landry, the doomsday defense vs the Raiders vaunted offensive line, the Cowboys recievers vs that NASTY Raiders secondary. That would've been an all time classic.

Really Wanted Patriots to play the Packers in Super Bowl XLII, Brady vs. Favre in the Super Bowl.
Patriots maybe get the 19-0 season, or Favre retires (and stays retired) winning 1 last ring against the team he beat for his 1st Super Bowl.
Could have been a really fun game.
Jets vs. Bears in Super Bowl XLV would have just been Hilarious. Mark Sanchez vs Jay Cutler, and 1 team breaks it's over 30 year long Super Bowl drought.
And if he (Favre) didnt get that ring, 2009-10 Super Bowl could’ve been the Colts vs Vikings. A match of sheriff Omaha vs OG Gunslinger would’ve been a dream come true
Yes please
TPS hates the Cowboys.
Nah Packers winning back to back was beautiful
@@TheSloppyjoejr Packers actually won back to back to back (65 Title even though the refs gifted them a win against the Colts in the Playoffs)
The NOLA No Call will forever haunt Saints fans. We all remember exactly where we were when that play happened...
I wanted Bills vs Lions as a 49ers guy. At least that way one team walks away with a Lombardi.
Super Bowl 52 jags vs Vikings would’ve been lit
Hell yea
🙄🙄
Jaguars suck
@@Playstationrule They got to the afc championship that year
@@Playstationrule In 2017 Jags were (#5 Offense and #2 defense) Vikings were (#10 Offense and #1 Defense)
Something tells me that Deshaun does not deserve a ring.
The fact Seattle should have 3 rings and be undefeated in the bowl is actually wild.
Uh how’s that the case? They shouldn’t even have been in Super Bowl 49 for a start
@@kylegross1081 it’s pretty simple. Everyone knows the refs fkd em over in super bowl 40. They dominated super bowl 48. Then had the best running back at the time and decided to throw it on the goaline in super bowl 49.
@@DAKreatesI’m with you on 40 and 48. 49, don’t care about what happened on the goal line, they should never have been in that Super Bowl to begin with. Green Bay was by far better than them and gave that NFC Title Game away just like how Seattle gave it to NE
@@kylegross1081 so what you’re saying is greenbay deserved to win because they gave away the game but Seattle does the same thing in the bowl and doesn’t deserve to win?
@@kylegross1081 If Green Bay was the better team they would've won
Ravens lions was my dream superbowl for this year. The greatest duel threat quarterback versus the football equivalent of the Chicago Cubs
Greatest duel threat quarterback is Michael Vick if we’re speaking all time, currently then yes Lamar Jackson is the best duel threat quarterback rn
I would rather have seen Buffalo vs San Francisco instead of the Giants in Super Bowl XXV. Niners going for the three peat against the super charged Bills. Would have been a high scoring game.
Buccaneers vs Raiders super bowl was perfect. Top offense vs top defense and Gruden taking his new girl to the dance and runs into his ex.
Super 57 between the Eagles and Bengals would’ve been something!
2 hungry young teams that would’ve fought for the Super Bowl title
Bengals were scrwed by the refs vs chiefs and should’ve reached back to back super bowls
This is what I wanted it would’ve been a brand new super bowl
A Super Bowl I wished happened
Super Bowl 55:
Green Bay Packers vs Kansas City Chiefs
Performing at halftime:
Billy Idol with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Super Bowl 57:
Cincinnati Bengals vs Philadelphia Eagles
Performing at halftime:
Bryan Adams
Super Bowl 58:
Detroit Lions vs Kansas City Chiefs
Performing at halftime:
Depeche Mode
Super Bowl 59:
Buffalo Bills vs Detroit Lions
Performing at halftime:
Duran Duran
That was cool that u showed the halftime shows
@sumeetbeniwal6365 Thank you. I wished NFL had gotten legends to perform at the halftime
Super Bowl XII. Dallas Cowboys vs. Oakland Raiders
America’s Team vs. The Silver and Black Attack. Plus, Oakland was the defending Super Bowl champion Champions during the 1977-78 season. I would’ve loved 🥰 to see that match up.
Wanted a Bills vs Lions SB this year.
Cowboys vs Chargers in Super Bowl 16
49ers vs Bills in Super Bowl 25
Vikings vs Colts in Super Bowl 44
Patriots vs Packers in Super Bowl 45 and 46
Patriots vs 49ers in Super Bowl 47
Chiefs vs Rams in Super Bowl 53
Ravens vs Lions in Super Bowl 58
Just to name a few
Saints VS Patriots Drew Brees VS Tom Brady Sean Payton VS Bill Bellicheck Dream Super Bowl
Buffalo v SF in 1990 shoulda happened too. Woulda been epic.
At least 1994 gave us Young vs Montana in the regular season.
This year. Bengals-Lions would have been neat.
If Burrow was healthy I think the Bengals would have made it to the SB. They crushed the 49ers earlier in the year and almost beat the Chiefs with a backup QB.

Top 10 Super Bowl Matchups that Didn’t Live Up to the Hype
Super Bowl 48 for sure.
That's pretty close to what I thought this video would be: actual match-ups that looked good on paper but weren't.
Sooo many blow-outs how can just pick 10 lol
@@hugoalvarado3375Nah, that would be Super Bowl 24. Montana vs Elway was the biggest dud in history.
Chiefs/Bucs didn't live up to the hype. It was all about Brady passing the torch and a legacy game if Mahomes won. But Brady one to be up in super bowls 7-1 at the time and game wasn't close
Jags-Rams in Super Bowl 34 would have been way better. I think that a Ravens-Vikings matchup in the following Super Bowl would have been better.
Always thought the same about Super Bowl 34. Also would have liked to see Steelers vs Rams in Super Bowl 36
I want SuperBowl 53, Chiefs vs Rams rematch where the nearly score 100 points on Monday Night Football before Thanksgiving.
2018 Chiefs vs Rams. That same year, Rams beat the Chiefs 54-51 on Monday night football. One of the greatest regular season games ever. That was ALMOST going to be a rematch in the Super Bowl if Dee Ford didn’t line up offsides 😑
Don’t forget the other SB 20 possibility:
Bears/Raiders
LA was actually the AFC 1 seed and had played Chicago in a hard hitting game the previous year
Plus Miami never beat the Raiders when they were coached by Tom Flores
This year is on the list, either ravens vs niners or chiefs vs lions would have been amazing
This year I wanted to see the Lions vs. Ravens. But with it being in Vegas. We all knew that wouldn't happen.
As a Broncos fan, I’m very happy with that SB50
Packers vs Patriots Super Bowl 45. That would've been a CRAZY Super Bowl!
Hahaha. 😂.
@@Kent-xy7jh dude you sound bout dumb lol
Dallas Cowboys vs Oakland Raiders Super Bowl 12
Tom Landry vs John Madden.
Roger the Dodger vs Snake Stabler
Instead we got the Cowboys defense dominating the Cinderella Broncos in a very sloppy game with 10 turnovers. 7 of them by the Broncos in just the first half.
I always wanted a 49ers vs Patriots Super Bowl in the early 2010s. Brady vs his hometown team. Sadly Tom never faced the 49ers ever in the playoffs.
Probably SB 48 in 2013 would have been the best choice for that match up.
Super Bowl LVIII
Wanted: Baltimore Ravens vs Detroit Lions
Got: Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers
Which is why I didn't see it-- Super Bowl XVII (Miami/Washington) was the one I saw (this one on DVD, w/John Riggins' magnificent MVP rushing performance of 166 yards, including that famous 43 to a TD on 4th and 1).
@@bmasters1981If you didn't watch this Super Bowl you missed out. Aside from the matchup, it was a hell of a game.
Just got an ad for super bowl 58 how ironic
2023 for me was browns lions, 2 teams who never even made a superbowl and who also have a coastline on the same lake
It is amazing that they have never played. Considering how many times both teams have made it.
The Steelers have entered the chat
They didn't mention Patriots vs Packers for Super Bowl 49 which was supposed to happen if the Packers didn't blow a 16-point lead against the Seahawks in 2015. That matchup could of been Aaron Rodgers vs Tom Brady.
I actually wish SB 45 was the 31 rematch.
I wish we could've seen a Raiders Cowboys superbowl. Tom Landry vs John Madden. Ken Stabler vs Roger Staubach. 2 of the best teams in the 70s gojng at it. It would've been a classic
I know I’m late but patriots vs cowboys in 2007….16-0 Brady vs America’s team Dallas who played them close in the regular season
Hard disagree on Chiefs vs Packers in Super Bowl 55, I loved the seeing the real GOAT smackdown Mahomes.
Reverse the two championship games in Super Bowl XIV so we have an all time uniform Super Bowl: Houston Oilers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
OR, Super Bowl XXXI being a flip of the championship game winners and the Jags and Panthers faceoff int he Super Bowl in both of their second years in the league
This Super Bowl should've been Lions vs Bills

Super Bowl 41 could of been Colts vs Saints Peyton Manning vs Drew Brees and not wait until early 2010 but it was Peyton Manning vs Rex Grossman LMAO
That Bears team was better all-around than that Colts team. The QB match up just sucked.

that no call on robey-colmen pisses me off to this day.
I'm fairly certain that all three Seahawks SB appearances come under the heading of 'disappointing' for most of the NFL.
But you could say that about fully 75% of SB match-ups. Unless you're a big market team with a rabid fanbase, the No Fun is always disappointed.
Super Bowl 50 should’ve been cardinals vs broncos
Super Bowl 12.
It would've been great to see Stabler's Raiders vs Staubach's Cowboys. The Raiders got robbed in the AFC Championship vs the Broncos. The Broncos then got wallopped by the Cowboys 27-10 in the Super Bowl. It should've been Madden vs Landry, the doomsday defense vs the Raiders vaunted offensive line, the Cowboys recievers vs that NASTY Raiders secondary. That would've been an all time classic.
This year included. I would rather have seen Detroit vs anyone as opposed to SF.
Super Bowl 35: If not for Ray Lewis and that Ravens defense, it would've been Giants vs. Titans or Giants vs. Raiders
This year should’ve been Ravens and Lions

Rodgers can still win an NFC championship. He just needs to sext reporters, retire, unretire, and go to the Vikings.
Or possibly the Bears/Lions.
I know it sounds like a bad take because of how big Seattle vs New England was but that was supposed to be the year we finally got Brady Vs Rodgers in a Super Bowl, but the Packers choked in the NFC Championship game and Bostick didn’t know how to block for a Onside kick
Man 2018 was our year man. Idc what anyone says. It was so magical

it would bean cooll to see patriots vs cardinals in suprerbowl 50
TPS, At 10:05, that is not the Superbowl Logo for SB 25 (Bills Vs GIANTS) back in 1991.
It's the Logo for Superbowl 29 (Chargers Vs 49ers), which is correctly listed back in 1995.
Bascially, the Exact Same SB Logo is listed in 1991 & 1995.
