YEP , stalwart operators for many years , the legendary ANTONOV 12 , these are still operational today , first flight was 1958!

no comparison possible , Airbus was not yet in existence when the 707/8 first flew , i always liked Boeing more , you will not find many Airbus over here , i simply do not like them /°

they are not , MHS 707 ended operating the 707 in 2004 , no longer operational neither

Patrick what’s louder a 707 or dc8?
the same engine type JT3D's , early jet aviation turbojets are even lounder , however JT3D such as TMA 707 fastest departure that i ever witnessed came close , depends on the power settings and speed i presume , still JT3D TURBOFANS on DC8 produce often crackling sounds as well
