I feel the same about people collecting for value. I saw recently that the Lego Cpt. Rex is being released in a $10 set and people are complaining about it because it was previously exclusive to the UCS Venator. My response was, “You bought the Venator for Rex?”
So glad that Palpatine is getting rereleased! I was lucky enough to get an Amazon Warehouse Deal one back when it came out that was in great condition (box aside) and since then he’s sat proudly on my shelf. I’ve always said that this was the version of the Emperor that every collector deserves to have, so I’m elated for everyone else to finally be able to get it. And very wise words of wisdom at the end; patience is key in collecting, forget the scalpers who only try to ruin our hobby for profit and enjoy the journey.

As someone who just started collecting, rereleases are an amazing way to get older figures that you can no longer get and for an affordable price. I’ve been wanting a couple of older black series figures but because of how much they are, I find myself just having to pass on some of my favorite characters.

So they are taking a bunch of figures that sold better than they originally anticipated. I would love to get that Emperor BUT Amazon wants to charge me 60$ for shipping and so it's a no-no for me. It's a great set but paying over a 100$ for a Black Series figure is too much for me. If they had it on Pulse EU I would grab it right away.
So hyped about that Jedi Survivor 3-pack! As someone who doesn’t army build, I’ll take any and all repaints of the CIS droids! Gimme the Droideka and hopefully Commando Droid in those colors next! As for the rereleases, it’s just sad to me every time I see people upset about them. Grow up, it’s such a selfish attitude to not want other collectors to have such desirable figures. Those are the REAL Basement Babies lol. And despite what some people may think, new collectors get in to the line all the time. This is for them. Don’t like it? Pass on by. Also, super hyped for the Droideka, it’s currently in my PoL along with TVC Zeb. Think I’ll ship them as soon as the Phase 1 Clone joins them!

Part of the fun of collecting is knowing that some things will be limited releases, or hard to find, or available at a specific location only. If everything is just going to be re-released then Hasbro will just be digging their own grave. You're just like most in the toy/star wars community though. So happy to see Rex and fox back out! My first two black series got them for a total of 80 back in 2020! If if wasn’t for those two I definitely would not be collecting! Definitely gonna get a pair to keep sealed with this rerun!
It’s great that the Emperor with throne is getting re-released. I’m sure we’ll still be seeing the scalper prices on the original, but at least now more collectors can easily get their hands on one. The rocket arm SBD also needs a Clone Wars release.

Hello Nate and Justin, so much information to cover in this video. First off I also support the rereleasing of figures so others that weren't able to collect the figures they now want have a way to collect them without filling for a second mortgage LoL 🤣. I need the Cross Hair original figure, Commander Fox, and Commander Rex (assuming it's his original figure not the Bad Batch version because I have that one). I know Nate needs Triple 0 . I've also pre-ordered the Amazon 3 pack, I love troop variants to add variety to the troops, special forces squad and whatnot. I'll have to check my Destroyer Droids to see if they are in my loot pile yet, or if they are processing. I'm so happy with where the black series line is at 😊, but my wallet is crying because of the lack of money 😢 💰. Collecting for value I think is really dumb, unless you're just in it for the bag only. Some Lego fans got mad last week since Lego announced a Captain Rex figure is coming in a 13 euro set, just cos it was previously exclusive to the 650 euro Republic Venator. Hi guys, nice to meet you. I subscribed a few weeks ago and I really like your content. I'm a new Black Series collector because... I lied myself telling me that 3.75 was better, and in some figures it might be the case... But c'mon, there are no butters in 3.75. Funny enough watching a video on the infamous Baylan Skoll figure made me get more intrigued in the line a few months ago after seeing those butters, those hips and ball wrist, just like Mcfarlane which I love. But I'm losing my point here, I wanted to confirm that yes, Black Series eventually will re release every figure... But sadly that's not the case for 3.75 or other Hasbro brands. I've been collecting Star Wars since 2005, specially clones, and man... Those are EXPENSIVE with sadly no re releases. So that's something that 3.75 should learn from BS. And funny enough, something that made me switch to BS, besides from the amazing quality, prices and articulation, it's the fact that I got robbed all my figure collection back in October, so I lose all my beloved clones, and now I'm not interested in paying 180 plus dollars for a small figure. So after I got my 501st clone in BS I was like... Man, this is it, I'm on this boat... And I love it! BTW I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT REX RE RELEASE! Guys, do you think I waited too long to sell my Jyn Erso figure for $140? I got a BBTS package yesterday with no idea what was inside. Surprised and thrilled to receive the Dok Ondar I ordered months ago. Never got a shipment notification, it just showed up. Such a cool-looking figure. As I mentioned when Momaw Nadon went up for pre-order, the Ithorians are probably my favorite alien race in Star Wars so it's great to have them. For the re-releases, I'm excited to get Bossk and Plo Koon.

I was making a clear exaggeration when I said I wouldn't care if my set got devalued to $0.01, but obviously that wouldn't actually happen. I started to get into Marvel Legends about 18 months ago, and it has surprised me how many opportunities Hasbro pass up to re-relase stuff compared to the Black Series. With Black Series, if something appears in a two pack and I don't want both, I'm pretty confident a single release will come. Heck, even if you just don't want the type of packaging it comes in, like a card back, they will probably re-release it in regular packaging. There's quite a big list of ML figures that have been in two packs however, and I've held off, and they just never seem to release them as singles.
It's not scalpers you have a problem with . . . it's a-holes. Yes, I sold my Emperor's Throne when it was very valuable, but because I didn't need it as much as the people paying a $100 for it. And I'm thrilled they're reissuing it.
Speaking of destroying third party resale value, I hope hasbro does more of these expensive repacks. I was lucky enough to get the full Target exlclusive TCW wave, but not a lot of other people were. I'd love to see an archive wave with Obi Wan, Echo, and Hawk in it and a repack of Anakin in Ahsoka show packaging with a better head sculpt, and I want to see the waves overproduced until they're Ollie's exclusives. Same goes for all of the other expensive figures in my collection like Fox (honestly, at this point he and all the other 2013 body troopers need a retool more than a repack). The dumbest takes in this hobby come from people gatekeeping new collectors out of their grail figures by saying that they just should have been collecting years before they entered the hobby so they deserve to pay reseller/scalper prices. We collect toys, not stocks and bonds. Our chunks of articulating plastic appreciating in value should be the absolute last thing we care about. I feel like Archive should be completely overhauled to 4 waves per year for a few years and for the rest of the line, the only decision criteria should be "What 4 figures are currently the most expensive on the secondary market while we plan this wave that we aren't planning on updating between now and a year after this wave's release." edit: Not sure how they could archive something like the Shadow Squadron, but it would be a good change.
I'd get every one of those rereleases, except Fox because I don't really like his look. I really hope they put Rex on the new Trooper body, selfishly but also because it would make it attractive to people who have original. I'm also hopeful about the digital face printing improving the Rebel's figures... Zeb and Kanan next.
bad topic yes me like new hip joint that doesn't have thigh swivel, about this figure they are doing it on gross figures I would like to see on this Trooper and Soldier figures. and Cad Bane versions not interested in 6 inch to big it choose were better maybe hasbro can't do nothing right its peg warms jedi figure and boring figures. The reasons I don't like it are, there is no other figures anywhere in the market place without the thigh swivel. If you want a Death Trooper or an ARC Trooper etc. you can't find any without the thigh swivel. Myself, I mostly collect Troopers for army building. me don't care way it look on thigh armour. anyway limb swivel isn't articulation any way you look at it and me hope it is Imperial Armored Commando and Rebel Fleet Trooper & Stormtrooper there is lots of Trooper don't have thigh armour why not do them on this
You guys are true collectors and understand why we all started collecting. I don't think I have ever thought how much will I be able to get for anything I've got. I collect black series and gi joe classified and it's terrible when you are missing something and have to pay scalper prices. I've got into it with guys in stores grabbing everything off the shelf to sell on eBay. Xmen 97 figures are terrible right now. I just want the 90s Xmen for my shelf and not have to pay stupid prices
I just paid a shit..d of money for this year for Ashoka Mandalore, Hunter, Crosshair and I also got Rex in a Set for a reasonable price tho. And that sucks, because these figures are supposed to be my retirement Provision. Jk of course I am a bit mad that I paid so much money but I love my figures and it is great that other collectors will finally get their shot for retail price. I just have to be more patient in the Future. Really hyped for this Imperator throne release!!!

orders through BBTS pre ordered or instock if it is just set stright to ship it, your processing time takes up to 4 business days. if your items go straight to your pile of loot and already paid for, you have up to 7 days to decide if you still want it or do you want to cancel and get a full refund for the item or items canceled. after 7 days you can't get a refund as you will get store credit for canceled items. there you go, now you know the breakdowns of how BBTS works.
I remember I ordered the emperor Palpatine throne room figure years ago. Him and Darth Vader were my very first black series figures. Glad I still kept them.
I’m an open box collector. I love having my figures out and on display. I think the only thing that should be rare or hard to get should be Con excuses.
I never had a problem with re releases. Like you said, everyone deserves a chance to complete their collection without having to pay outrageous prices. I do think it is a bit overkill when Hasbro releases a figure, then releases an anniversary edition of that same figure , and then an archive figure within a few months. Spread it out a bit.
I was able to get some of the Clone Wars figurines for normal price except Ahsoka so the rumours definitely made some scalpers panic , I want all the fans who started later or missed out for whatever reason to be able to get their figurines awesome move by Hasbro.
I’m an in box collector but not from the point of view of value and investment, whilst I understand if someone has paid higher amount to get figures would be frustrated if a figure is rereleased, many of these people fail to understand that to keep a toy line going you need reissues to allow new folk a way in, tvc struggles with this as the reissues aren’t always the ideal ones and can alienate potential new customers
It is pretty silly to get mad that someone else can have access to your rare thing. My only gripe with reissues is when they do an improvement like pinless or something. It's like ugh, I need that haha
Agreed, and as a international Brazilian collector I praise every re-release, almost all shop exclusives are harder to find here, re-releases are welcomed.

Interesting you mention the Captain Rex re-issue, figuring that he'd either be clean or have digital weathering, I decided to scratch my Rex itch early and got an SDCC one. Ok, yeah, he was expensive, but, no less so than my Figuarts ANH Stormtrooper. I'm really happy with my Rex, save for one thing, which I'm beginning to ignore more. Somebody thought it'd be a 'great idea' to tape his rangefinder to the inner tray! Having been stored like this since SDCC it had warped, I did try straightening it by heating and cooling it. It was ok for a little while, but, it has now gone back to how it came out of the box. However, compared to missing paint apps or poop chute weathering, it's something I can live with. Will everyone be happy with their re-issued Rex!? Only time will tell....

Did you use a hair dryer to heat it up then dunk it straight in cold water after straightened it out? The hot water method doesn't work as well for me, I find.

I PO’d the Survivor pack. Glad to see the B1 actually is different from the single release. Have the Palpatine, so I’m passing but glad others can get it at about half the price on aftermarket. Let the reissues happen. Saves me money because I don’t have to buy them and helps other collectors not spend a fortune for them!
I pre-ordered my Emperor immediately... for the moment, I had to call off a couple other preorders for cost reasons (and Yoda 2 pack was impossible to get, still unavailable) but in very glad we ate getting another chance at these figures. Now... let's see these other rumored re-releases like Rex, Aphra, BT (New sculpt 🤞) 000...
As we've said multiple times before (like during Turnback Tuesday) all signs are pointing towards that original information to at least have a certain amount of validity to it as time has moved on. Right now we are at 5/20 of the original list of Black Series, let's hope a lot of the other ones get made as well! -Justin

This is the way.....to do repaints/repack. It doesn't reek of desperation it shows to me they are starting to pay attention and getting in some new media figs with the PT anniversary. I have recently been back into Jedi Survivor so its cool to be able to snag figs because I am one of those that likes the fig with the media to look at posing, detail etc. I'll also say some of the recent releases and announcements of the last year or so with TBS has started to really get my attention again. I have been selling some things and dipping into Mafex and SH Figuarts and while those guys are cool you start missing when hands or arms don't fall off of TBS figures. Glavis Ringworld Mando hands down maybe the best TBS figure ever released.

As for the rereleases, it’s just sad to me every time I see people upset about them. Grow up, it’s such a selfish attitude to not want other collectors to have such desirable figures. Those are the REAL Basement Babies lol. And despite what some people may think, new collectors get in to the line all the time. This is for them. Don’t like it? Pass on by.

Part of the fun of collecting is knowing that some things will be limited releases, or hard to find, or available at a specific location only. If everything is just going to be re-released then Hasbro will just be digging their own grave. You're just like most in the toy/star wars community though. Telling people to grow up and then calling them "basement babies" in the very next sentence. Take your own advice.

It’s great that the Emperor with throne is getting re-released. I’m sure we’ll still be seeing the scalper prices on the original, but at least now more collectors can easily get their hands on one. The rocket arm SBD also needs a Clone Wars release.

First off I also support the rereleasing of figures so others that weren't able to collect the figures they now want have a way to collect them without filling for a second mortgage LoL 🤣.
I need the Cross Hair original figure, Commander Fox, and Commander Rex (assuming it's his original figure not the Bad Batch version because I have that one). I know Nate needs Triple 0 .
I've also pre-ordered the Amazon 3 pack, I love troop variants to add variety to the troops, special forces squad and whatnot.
I'll have to check my Destroyer Droids to see if they are in my loot pile yet, or if they are processing.
I'm so happy with where the black series line is at 😊, but my wallet is crying because of the lack of money 😢 💰.

Collecting for value I think is really dumb, unless you're just in it for the bag only. Some Lego fans got mad last week since Lego announced a Captain Rex figure is coming in a 13 euro set, just cos it was previously exclusive to the 650 euro Republic Venator.

I'm a new Black Series collector because... I lied myself telling me that 3.75 was better, and in some figures it might be the case... But c'mon, there are no butters in 3.75. Funny enough watching a video on the infamous Baylan Skoll figure made me get more intrigued in the line a few months ago after seeing those butters, those hips and ball wrist, just like Mcfarlane which I love. But I'm losing my point here, I wanted to confirm that yes, Black Series eventually will re release every figure... But sadly that's not the case for 3.75 or other Hasbro brands. I've been collecting Star Wars since 2005, specially clones, and man... Those are EXPENSIVE with sadly no re releases. So that's something that 3.75 should learn from BS. And funny enough, something that made me switch to BS, besides from the amazing quality, prices and articulation, it's the fact that I got robbed all my figure collection back in October, so I lose all my beloved clones, and now I'm not interested in paying 180 plus dollars for a small figure. So after I got my 501st clone in BS I was like... Man, this is it, I'm on this boat... And I love it! BTW I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT REX RE RELEASE! I got a BBTS package yesterday with no idea what was inside. Surprised and thrilled to receive the Dok Ondar I ordered months ago. Never got a shipment notification, it just showed up. Such a cool-looking figure. As I mentioned when Momaw Nadon went up for pre-order, the Ithorians are probably my favorite alien race in Star Wars so it's great to have them.
For the re-releases, I'm excited to get Bossk and Plo Koon.

I started to get into Marvel Legends about 18 months ago, and it has surprised me how many opportunities Hasbro pass up to re-relase stuff compared to the Black Series. With Black Series, if something appears in a two pack and I don't want both, I'm pretty confident a single release will come. Heck, even if you just don't want the type of packaging it comes in, like a card back, they will probably re-release it in regular packaging. There's quite a big list of ML figures that have been in two packs however, and I've held off, and they just never seem to release them as singles.

Speaking of destroying third party resale value, I hope hasbro does more of these expensive repacks. I was lucky enough to get the full Target exlclusive TCW wave, but not a lot of other people were. I'd love to see an archive wave with Obi Wan, Echo, and Hawk in it and a repack of Anakin in Ahsoka show packaging with a better head sculpt, and I want to see the waves overproduced until they're Ollie's exclusives. Same goes for all of the other expensive figures in my collection like Fox (honestly, at this point he and all the other 2013 body troopers need a retool more than a repack).
The dumbest takes in this hobby come from people gatekeeping new collectors out of their grail figures by saying that they just should have been collecting years before they entered the hobby so they deserve to pay reseller/scalper prices. We collect toys, not stocks and bonds. Our chunks of articulating plastic appreciating in value should be the absolute last thing we care about.
I feel like Archive should be completely overhauled to 4 waves per year for a few years and for the rest of the line, the only decision criteria should be "What 4 figures are currently the most expensive on the secondary market while we plan this wave that we aren't planning on updating between now and a year after this wave's release."
edit: Not sure how they could archive something like the Shadow Squadron, but it would be a good change.

I really hope they put Rex on the new Trooper body, selfishly but also because it would make it attractive to people who have original. The reasons I don't like it are, there is no other figures anywhere in the market place without the thigh swivel. If you want a Death Trooper or an ARC Trooper etc. you can't find any without the thigh swivel. Myself, I mostly collect Troopers for army building.
me don't care way it look on thigh armour. anyway limb swivel isn't articulation any way you look at it and me hope it is Imperial Armored Commando and Rebel Fleet Trooper & Stormtrooper there is lots of Trooper don't have thigh armour why not do them on this

You guys are true collectors and understand why we all started collecting. I don't think I have ever thought how much will I be able to get for anything I've got. I collect black series and gi joe classified and it's terrible when you are missing something and have to pay scalper prices. I've got into it with guys in stores grabbing everything off the shelf to sell on eBay. Xmen 97 figures are terrible right now. I just want the 90s Xmen for my shelf and not have to pay stupid prices

I never had a problem with re releases. Like you said, everyone deserves a chance to complete their collection without having to pay outrageous prices. I do think it is a bit overkill when Hasbro releases a figure, then releases an anniversary edition of that same figure , and then an archive figure within a few months. Spread it out a bit.

I was able to get some of the Clone Wars figurines for normal price except Ahsoka so the rumours definitely made some scalpers panic , I want all the fans who started later or missed out for whatever reason to be able to get their figurines awesome move by Hasbro.

I’m an in box collector but not from the point of view of value and investment, whilst I understand if someone has paid higher amount to get figures would be frustrated if a figure is rereleased, many of these people fail to understand that to keep a toy line going you need reissues to allow new folk a way in, tvc struggles with this as the reissues aren’t always the ideal ones and can alienate potential new customers

Interesting you mention the Captain Rex re-issue, figuring that he'd either be clean or have digital weathering, I decided to scratch my Rex itch early and got an SDCC one. Ok, yeah, he was expensive, but, no less so than my Figuarts ANH Stormtrooper. I'm really happy with my Rex, save for one thing, which I'm beginning to ignore more. Somebody thought it'd be a 'great idea' to tape his rangefinder to the inner tray! Having been stored like this since SDCC it had warped, I did try straightening it by heating and cooling it. It was ok for a little while, but, it has now gone back to how it came out of the box. However, compared to missing paint apps or poop chute weathering, it's something I can live with. Will everyone be happy with their re-issued Rex!? Only time will tell....

Did you use a hair dryer to heat it up then dunk it straight in cold water after straightened it out? The hot water method doesn't work as well for me, I find.

@@OutOfTheBasement Exactly, plus they priced kids (and many collectors) out long ago anyway, so that reason is invalid IMO. If it's the "slave" name, well, just change it. After all it's just a plastic figure. "But it pegwarmed" I hear them say. Yeshhh, but that didn't seem to stop them in recent times with e.g. Landos. Aaaand they do seem to want to put out old figures, like you guys said here, eventually. So I have hope, a fool's hope maybe, but a hope nonetheless. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, views etc. :-)
She was part of an Archive fan vote at one point, I think back in 2019...but she lost to Commander Cody. Oddly enough, all the other options end up getting released again one way or another. Truly unfortunate. -Justin

Great video boys! Love how that Survivor three pack is looking, some very nice repaints and the cannon arm on the B2 is crazy! We love sipping on those bozo scalper tears. Please keep getting mad new collectors are getting these very expensive (on the aftermarket) and very nice pieces added to their collection, all because your Throne you’ve been sitting on for almost 6 years has gained $40 in “value”. Gtf outta here with that nonsense! Very glad to see so many of the reissues are actually coming!

This is the way.....to do repaints/repack. It doesn't reek of desperation it shows to me they are starting to pay attention and getting in some new media figs with the PT anniversary. I have recently been back into Jedi Survivor so its cool to be able to snag figs because I am one of those that likes the fig with the media to look at posing, detail etc. I'll also say some of the recent releases and announcements of the last year or so with TBS has started to really get my attention again. I have been selling some things and dipping into Mafex and SH Figuarts and while those guys are cool you start missing when hands or arms don't fall off of TBS figures. Glavis Ringworld Mando hands down maybe the best TBS figure ever released.
