  • Everything belongs to STV, ITV, SMG Productions.
    First Broadcast Saturday, 25th January 2003.
    When a doctor at a clinic for women which advocates birth control is murdered the immediate suspects are a militant fundamentalist group who oppose abortions. However, drug links between the clinic and a local crime boss extend the scope of the investigation further, though Stuart believes the murderer may have had a more personal reason.

    I love these shows. It is supposed to be a half way modern, forensic police dept. None of these shows use gloves, picking up evidence, walking through the crime scene. etc. The other one too. They have the internet and it is done in the 80-90s. They are not stupid. NO one uses gloves! It is maddening to watch it! LOL.

      The forensics team were wearing gloves and hazmat suits, the detectives know not to touch anything and leave it for forensics when they show up.

    Hard to believe the wheelchair victim could actually be killed. She would have gotten the nurse, had a phone brought to her. Hard to believe the doctor could actually be killed with the cop in the house, that his buddies wouldn't suspect he'd been drugged.

    Speaking as a Londoner - and British Crime Drama tragic - I think Taggart was one of the best shows before and after Mark McManus. Great cast, great storylines. I moved to Oz in 1988 and now have to take what crumbs I can find on RUclips or Daily Motion. I subscribe to Britbox but the execs in charge of this paid streaming service don't seem to give a sh*t what their subscribers in Australia request.

    The CDI who is supposed to be very smart thought the young officer whom he knew well had fallen asleep because he was lazy and removed him from the case. Even the woman officer thought there was something wrong about this and got him to check his blood. Yet the smartass CDI didn't even think of this and continued to think wrongly of his officer whom he should have trusted if he was a good boss. He was proved wrong in the end about the officer but didn't even have the decency to say sorry or thank him. He's a real jerk and is not fit to be the Chief.

I figured out who dunnit after the second murder with more than 30 minutes to go. I don't think the writing team is really up to filling a show of this length. good ensemble cast. DCI Burke has to be the least charismatic and appealing head investigator I've seen.

    • @Cleggy
      @Cleggy 7 лет назад +1

      Gregory, I do agree. I mean, one could argue that his...spicyness has been brought on by a rough childhood and dealing with the sort of thing a DCI has to deal with day in and day out, and one could even argue that MAYBE it does bring about results (not that it makes it right). At the same time, it'd be dishonest if someone DIDN'T bring up the fact that Matty could perhaps calm down a bit.
      Though, this says a lot about wee Norton's acting. From what I hear, he's a pretty charming guy and totally different from DCI Burke, if that makes you feel better.
      Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, though. Sometimes it's like "Errr...".
