    Buffalo guy; I love hitting small streams in cold months! Nice to get out for hour or 2 and land one. Always good to get out of the house.

    First of all, you are very good at what you’re doing. Second, I like how you fight your fish. And thirdly , I love how you are doing a great job of recording your outings and share them with us. I’m temporarily not able to get up there to the L.Ontario tribs. But soon. Thanks for getting my blood flowing again for these beautiful big lake run trout! I only ask that we need more!!

    You make it look so easy! I normally use a pin but I’ve been dedicating myself on the fly with a indicator I can’t keep them pinned for the life of me!! AWESOME VIDEO

      Hahaha can't beat the fly rod! I do think center pins are fun though (and extremely productive). Thank you!!!

    The motion tripod was very effective with the fish fights. Landing a big Steelhead that way will look really good. And I loved the ice......

      It's not Oak, that would be a good place to try though if you're trying to figure out spots on Ontario!

    Hey, don't you find it a little awkward going after you net on the bank. Why don't you carry it with you? If they take the bead do you floss the fish and hook them with the bottom fly? Thanks for the video.

    • @PaytonHanssen
      @PaytonHanssen  3 года назад

      Yeah it can be awkward I usually have my net on me but for these I didn't. When I'm by myself I have to bring the fish close to the bank anyways so that's why it was there. I mean you could call it flossing but you just see the indicator go down and set the hook as if they took a fly. Thanks for watching!

      @wyomingtrout5581 3 года назад

      @@PaytonHanssen I am trying to understand this bead stuff. So that take the bead, you set the and the bottom fly gets pulled up and it hooked into the side of the trout's mouth?

      @@wyomingtrout5581 yeah that’s just about it.

    • @PaytonHanssen
      @PaytonHanssen  4 года назад

      Thank you!! And yeah kind of! Just works with the fly to help your chances at getting on fish. They usually hit the bead this time of year
