Too true my dude! I have 3 EX raid mewtwos. But my little brother only gets to visit me every 2 weeks, so he has never gotten an EX pass for mewtwo. We can finally get one together. I believe it is a great thing and we shouldnt value what we have based on how many others have the same. 1,000 people can watch a sunset, does that make it any less amazing? :-)
Caleb Myers this is also why I sent random shiny Pokemon through the wonder trade in the 6th gen games. no one knew what they were getting, including myself with a random Japan region Magikarp sent my way.
I'm visiting my parents in a few weeks. With the friendship bonus we've built up, the three of us can, and will, take down a Mewtwo. The way they play, and the place they live in, EX passes aren't a thing. I'm really happy about this bonus.
Most of the people aren't complaining about giving mewtwo to everyone, but giving it while it is still an ex-raid boss. I'm just saying Niantic shouldn't upset their hardcore players to please the casuals. It's just not a smart move. Casuals will abandon the game faster and will spend less money on it. I'd say that they should've given shiny mewtwo for a couple of days, and then release it for a month in the end of the year or later.
Love your perspective, Nick. If you're mad someone else gets something that you also have--without it being taken from you--what you feel that you've lost is a) your sense of superiority... which really never existed, or b) the value of the extra effort you put in, which is not actually diminished: you did what you were willing and motivated to do to get it when you did and that is satisfying in its own right with no comparison to anyone else.
Not true. Appreciating rarity naturally goes away when rare thing becomes common. To frame it as "you think you're superior" as if everyone is ONLY thinking about themselves is a mischaracterization. Is it not fun/cool to see a regional not from your area in a gym? Or a shiny? The introduction of trading ALREADY means you have access without traveling if you are care enough about filling your Pokedex. It just makes the game rather flat to place every Pokemon at the same level of rarity. It's not about ME having it or not. I don't have all the regionals. Yes, I want them, but not as a gift directly from the game/Niantic. There's no fun in that.
I agree. Some weeks ago I got my first regional overall thanks to a friend. Unfortunately I'm not able to travel a lot for the moment so I was really happy to get that heracross. But I don't see me getting angry when they would make it widely available for more players.
The game is a vehicle to do things you love to do. Travel, make new friends, shake up old routines, build & be part of a community, & just getting out into the world. I had to learn the hard way to not compare my gameplay to everyone else’s. Instead, I took other people’s methods of gameplay & modified them for my environment so I could meet my goals. It’s very obvious you have a deep love & respect for Japan & its culture. It shows in every Japan vlog you do.
I agree completely! Enjoy the game how you want. I am a member of instinct through and through. I love hatching eggs. I don't like the trainers who have an elite tone like... You're not level 40? You're still in the tutorial are of the game! They play the game the way they want, grinding XP.
Ravyn Liam since I don’t ever comment I don’t know if I should say I apologize for it seeming as if I used your comment to comment. Either way i didn’t read yours until I posted mine. It just shows when someone sincerely expresses what they love to do it’s universally understood.
"if you have the time to play pogo, chances are your at a pretty good place in the world." Nick that spoke volumes to me! I one day would love to visit a place like this, but I might not be able to or my kids might not if we don't change. Part of the solution is spreading the word and the message and I thank you for doing that.
Invited to 21 EX Raids already, and still gonna enjoy the Ultra Unlock Not gonna complain about daily Mewtwos, it's faster for candy anyway :) Also still need a shiny Articuno
Exactly!!!! Daily Mewtwos let us hoard candies to power a bunch of them up, and if they keep the 6% catch rate then it will be fairly easily to catch one with a Pinap.
Another thing - while folks are out there complaining, some of us are taking advantage of the chance of Mewtwo month to duo a Mewtwo with a Scizor + Pinsir setup under rain :)
Another legendary cinematic video from Trainer Tips. Loved it. I might never go to Japan in my lifetime, but watching your videos, with your unique style, makes it seem like I'm a world traveler.
I agree, I was just expecting a 3-hour Mewtwo day not a WHOLE MONTH! Plus the birds! Definitely a huge unlock you can't really be mad at that. The only thing I wish they did was offer more bag space lol.
I 100% agree Nick. If it wasn't for the people I met in this game I would not be playing. The game is ok the people are amazing. Most of the people I talk to on a daily basis, friends, are people I met or reconnected with in PoGo. No we go out and do stuff like escape rooms, go to the movies, get meals, or go to the beach together. We play the game but like you said its secondary to the connections we made and continue to grow.
I don't they are going anywhere. At least Niantic is adding the share feature so more people can have access to them. Honestly all they really need to do is add more EX eligible gyms to the game and then more people will have access to them.
Videos like that, man... that is what keeps me playing this game at 38, almost 39, and following your channel. The insights you share, it really goes beyond a mobile game. A small fraction of us can travel distances to play, even fewer have the privilege to make a living out of it, but it brings a smile to my face to know that you sir are one of them. Well deserved. You make the most of it with a grateful heart, and it shows. Thanks for sharing. Love from Brazil.
Not in my area. A shiny MewTwo? That will bring everyone back out. They didn't like the Regis and went into hiding because they're not meta relevant and there were no shinies available. MewTwo is a meta beast with three different uses. Everyone's gonna be out, including the hardcores.
The only part I'm disappointed in is the birds. They were reward unlocks, and while two had a special move with good shiny odds, I think if people had known they'd be back again for a week, a lot wouldn't have had to run around like headless chickens on the mornings in question. It does feel as if those rewards have been cheapened a little. I know it was great for getting big groups together so people who could otherwise not raid got a chance and for people who missed those days for whatever reason, but I think that at this point, they're not going to hold a massive attraction in raids for the people who grinded. If there was a candy, stardust or even xp event to go with it, maybe, but given the regi burnout, adding another set that have been in raids twice and in the reward boxes doesn't seem like that great of an unlock.
Claudie L I tried to check gyms during those times and no one was raiding. there's he odd time that anyone raids here and those weren't any of those times.
I feel the ex raids loose purpose. Cause when ppl know we can get it in other ways the fight to get the ex raidpasses will calm down now. BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT THE REGIONALS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN 7km egg!! love love love it. Don't care about the birds or what's in legendarys cause I have given up on those. I have no raidteam and no gyms nearby.
@Alessandro Malvasi nope. I wouldn't make any effort if I know it will be easier to get later. I would focus on other more fun things I. the game instead
Your videos are always so well edited, and you capture everywhere you go beautifully. But I especially loved this video because of how calming and peaceful and serene it is, and it really shows your love for Japan. This is mostly why I watch your videos, not just for Pokemon Go, but for seeing how well you capture where you’re traveling to. I was recently in japan for the Yokosuka event as well, and I loved it so much and miss it, so I’m so glad you feel the same. It’s not just about the game, it’s about the places you go and the people you meet along the way. :’)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WORD. It make me sick if i see these People "i dont wanna Mewtu as Raidboss because now other people can have it." Same for Regionals. its disgusting.
Thanks for always offering perspective, not just photography. Your introspection really gives your channel identity and really sets it apart. Big fan. Looking forward to the next!
I don't mind it. I just hope they completely stop with exraids and regionals cause they have lost every single meaning now. And why we would try and get a pass for an exraid with a useless pokemon (Deoxys) you will get in a normal raid later anyway.
Solid episode! Thank you. (I hope that today's announcement of 2 of Mewtwo's charge moves becoming legacy moves on September 20 will comfort those who felt that their Mewtwo would be devalued. Shadow Ball should nicely show off an older Mewtwo's special EX status, I hope.)
There's simply two types of players, the casual one (me), and the hardcore one, and i guess hardcore players don't agree with this and i understand, but there's no reason to mess or insult the casual player
How is being unhappy "insulting" to casual players? I think Nick is completely off-base when he pretends those who are unhappy "just don't want others to have what they have". Not at all. I don't like the regional release because I appreciate rarity, which has always been an element in Pokemon. There isn't much to Pokemon Go, so if rare Pokemon are no longer rare it takes away yet another element. I find it exciting to see regionals in gyms, because they're rare and if I don't have them, it's even MORE cool/exciting. I also don't see the FUN in being granted a full Pokedex. If Niantic sent a message to me saying "We can either fill your Pokedex for you now or you can play and catch what you can but never catch them all" I'd choose the second for sure. Yes, I WANT to fill my Pokedex, but there is too much babying in Pokemon Go. Rarity makes things fun and interesting for everyone. Appreciating rarity is natural and not "selfish".
as a hardcore player, i do agree with u, but still feels like a slap in the face by niantic, the times i skipped work or other stuff so i could do the exraids, the only free days i had waking up early to do those birds day. the great feeling when catching a shiny bird or a mewto is crushed. the proud feeling when someone ask how many mewtwos i have. crushed. feels all for nothing now. the birds is just to soon, they should have waited till like december to bring them all together back (dont get me wrong, i am happy for the ppl who didnt have any of them, also saves me alot of stardust trades )
People need to realise this is a mobile app. therefore its casual friendly. Hardcore players just pay the bills. also any event based Pokemon caught have legacy moves. . . how do they lose any value ? lolz and come on you didn't think they would lock Pokemon away did you? what happens if someone has only just started playing. they would never get the chance to catch those event only pokemon. The only thing that is really exclusive is event Pikachus (unless they repeat events, but then you have the date stamp so . . Yeah)
F7099Y: People don't need to realize anything. If the consumers don't like something and the company suffers, it's NEVER the consumers fault. It's always the company (I'm speaking in general here, not about this event). If the hardcore players "pay the bills" then they matter as long as the bills matter. The question there is: Are the hardcore players dissatisfied enough to stop spending and/or stop playing? Will the feelings linger or will they forget about it once it's over? The rest of what you are talking about is completely off-topic. No one is talking about the Pikachus...
People have had long enough to feel special with their mewtwos and regionals most of us can't afford to travel to get them or get out to do raids it's only fair that we get a chance to get these pokemon and i love that Niantic is doing it.
@@bubbajax1863 sounds like something a guy that still lives in their parent's house would say. Not everyone has the same time as you losers to play since we have businesses to run or jobs to do. You've enjoyed the spotlight long enough it's our time.
really beautiful video! I have the same love for the old Japanese temples, ruins, carvings and etc. So these montages of the places you visit, makes me so happy and it makes me feel peaceful, it's amazing! Keep up the good work!
0:48 ・ _The Three Legendary Birds:_ Good, I couldn't get a shiny Moltres and Articuno yet. ・ _Mewtwo in "normal" Raids:_ Nice, but I think one month is too long. Makes Mewtwo, that is supposed to be rare and special, less special. 20.Sept. to 23.Sept., not 23.Oct. would have been enough. I'm happy many more people get their chance for a Mewtwo, but I think one month is just too much. A week would have been more than enough for a Pokedex entry. I think there are many people who put a lot of effort in EX-Raids and some of them might not be so happy about such relatively easy to get Mewtwo. ・ _Region Exclusives in 7km Eggs:_ Awesome. Usually I'm not very lucky with egg hatches, but I hope I can finally get a Tauros and Kangaskhan.
I mean if you compare it to the gameboy or ds games you eventually get the legendaries at the end of a few hours of gameplay. With pokemon go you can go a very long time after a lot of hours with no legendaries.
Agree that it was too long BUT (on the other hand) they made Shadow Ball a legendary move means that unless you had one before, it's not possible to obtain that move.
This video, however, was the most amazing I’ve ever seen from you. It’s small little trips and moments and places you experience. I know I love seeing it and I’m sure everyone else does too, so thank you very much for sharing.
3:46 This! Pokemon go was always about the experience and adventures. Can I get regionals from 7km eggs from gift I haven't opened yet or are the eggs in those are determined when it was sent?
Doesn't make a difference to me for Mewtwo to be a 5 tier boss. Actually, it'll probably give me less chance to get one. The scheduled time of EX raids make it possible for me to do them. I have to drive 35-40 minutes to get to an area where there are gyms. Not knowing when raids will happen makes it practically impossible for me to do raids above 3 tier (since I need more raiders to do 4 and 5). Raid events like Moltres Day made it possible for me to get the legendary birds because there was a specific time frame I could plan for. I've been playing for 2 years and have only done eleven regular 5 tier raids. ELEVEN! Oh well.
Love the way you put the perspective of gratitude towards the moments passed & gratitude for what we have in addition to being happy for others to have the same opportunity to have a similar or unique experience in their own merits.
I think it's a rather gross mischaracterization to pretend that being selfish because you "don't want others to have things" is the only reason to be unhappy with the event. Who said I had all the regionals? I don't. Rarity is a big part of Pokemon. Yes, HAVING rare Pokemon is fun but can I also not enjoy seeing rare Pokemon in gyms? I do, and that is ESPECIALLY true for the ones I don't have. It makes the game more exciting. I like having the regionals and I also wish Niantic would release shinies WITHOUT special days or periods of increased spawns and shiny odds. Does that not make catching it more exciting for OTHER players and not just me? Of course it does. I may also never catch one, and I'm okay with that, too. I will marvel at any that I see in gyms. The mere possibility makes it fun, even if it never happens. I don't think it's selfish at all to appreciate and find value rarity in a game where there is little to do but collect things...
I don't really think that it is a bonus. Raidbosses coming back is pretty normal in PoGo. So nothing special here. Taking Mewtwo out of the EX-Raids was predictable to. Sooner or later there had to be another EX-Raidboss. And with this an other way to get Mewto. So this one month Mewto (not even shiny) isn't something special. It had to be done anyway. Kantospawn are somewhat special. But not ultra. The chance of hatching regional Kanto Pokemon is awesome, but it is nothing ultra special if we compare it with other Events. Including the "Bonus-Events" we got this summer. Honestly, i don't really care about it. We have more then enough Events in PoGo. But i can understand people who are disappointed about this Ultra-Bonus. Cause its deffinitly nothing special.
I couldn't agree with you more. To me it's mediocre because it's exactly what we've been doing for the last 3 months. It doesn't warrant as ultra. I don't care who gets how many mewtwo, it's just misleading of Niantic. I feel Niantic does not put much thought into these events. I mean come on, Evee day with a sad normal move, chikorita day- do i even need say to anything about this one? And now the recycling of raid bosses.....that we JUST raided? No, that's no ultra lock. It's sadly, Niantic being Niantic. I won't even go into the terrible upgraded, annoying white box that blocks your screen on top. Do they even play the game?
Really loving the artistic touches on Nick's video(s) and that it's informative is a bonus! Lovley video and so cool that Nick and Zoë hang out like proper friends.
I agree that the people and experience out weigh the in game stuff. But it is because of those rare Pokémon or challenging raid systems that triggered those experience or meeting those people in the first place. Take that away without adequately replacing it and you lose those triggers. And until trading came out, you’d be correct that others having in this game doesn’t really impact you. But now it does. My only issue with the event is the regionals in eggs. With trading it was unnecessary and just served to upset those who did go out of their way for those special Pokémon. I have and I do feel it’s impacted their value.
This is probably my favorite video that you have made Nick, it really made me look at my situation in a way that i have never noticed before, thank you for focusing on the real life side of things. keep it up mate :D
I don't necessarily agree that giving something to everybody else doesn't take anything from me. Imagine giving gold medals to every participant of olympics, hell, everyone who has ever exercised in the whole world. I'm fine with giving mewtwo to everyone, but come on not the whole month. 3 hours or a weekend would be just fine. They could release it for a month like a year after mewtwo was out of ex raids, but not a few days after someone had actually put effort to get theirs.
I agree. I got my first EX mewtwo on September 9th and then 1 day later they announce that it doesn’t matter I just got it because for a whole month anyone can get them. Made my mewtwo less special
The whole point of the entire game is to catch them all, it's their damn slogan. Wouldn't it kind of be ridiculous to not give everyone a chance to catch it? 3 hours or a weekend is maybe fine for you, but you have to think about the people who may still get left out during a short period like that. A whole month gives everyone a very fair chance. Also, waiting a year after they leave EX raids is going to be way too long. With PVP coming out at the end of this year, they have to give everyone a fair shot at a Mewtwo who doesn't even have EX raids (such as myself).
Come on now. Pokemon is a game. PERIOD. You talking n comparing it with Olympics gold medal. U must be kidding?... that is a real career n their life. Now. How many of u bitching n sour about pogo are full time pogo player n ur career is pogo. Godsake.... Just a game. Everyone can play n just have fun. At some point of time. Will stop playing too. So. Why really bother. Serioisly
sgpork i used medals as an example how something loses relative value if you give it to everyone. Your comment just doesn't make sense. You're saying we shouldn't think Niantic made a wrong turn... because POGO is not our carreer? wtf? And we shouldn't bother because we will quit playing eventually - i'd ask then, why do you bother playing in the first place?
PossessedFajita I totally agree, but as i said, they rushed it. If they switched ex raid bosses and gave mewtwo to everyone a month or two later it wouldn't be such a problem. I personally only have 1 mewtwo from ex raids, and it felt really special.. until now.
Dude... By Far and Away my most favorite video of yours the cinematography was incredible!!! I love the detail you put into all of your videos. The Pokemon go stuff is great the fact that you can travel, and do such incredible content while following A game is unsurpassed by anybody. I love watching all of your videos because of that, and hope to see many more in the future.
You have no idea, it was a sentret and it jumped out of the pokeball and I was about to run because I didn't need the candy or xp. Keep up that positivity Nick!
TheAsianGamer to this day I find it hard to get a ditto. when I needed the new research it took a pretty long time. I caught nearly everything in sight. eventually I ended up getting one. the funny thing was prior to that research I had 5 ditto that I had caught at random points in time.
The thing is, who is going to be so stupid to do any effort to get an ex raid pass now? I had to specially go to those ex raid gyms, do raids on them every week and then take a few hours off work everytime i had to go do an ex raid in the middle of a weekday (which is beyond stupid why they don't do them in the evening). Now everyone know those pokemon locked away in ex raids will be thrown at you just like mewtwo. They screwed up their own system.
You can tell the who the noobs are by just reading the comments. Noobs having orgasm over something that all active players already have. Need a clean up on aisle 4.
How the fuck else are you going to be able to do a raid at noon in the middle of the week? It's not about having an orgasm you moron, all active players who raid with me in my region already have a dozen mewtwo's, i got 21 of them, including a 100%. Its not about that. It's about the fact that ex raids are irrelevant now. Guess thats too hard for you to understand noob.
I am a student so ex raid on a weekend work for me. I am in a raid group that has taught me all the ex raid gyms and we battle those to get the passes. we coordinate our meet up time for the raid and it was something special. Mewtwo is kinda just being thrown at everyone and I wouldn't have spent as much time playing or buying things if I knew it was going to be thrown at me for a month. (I am a decently hardcore player)
I run the risk of getting down voted to oblivion for saying this but here is my perspective - The issue isn’t being happy for people achieving things in this game. I cheer with the best of them at EX raids or legendaries in general. The issue isn’t comparing yourself to others. If that were the case, there would be no reason to play when comparing yourself to Brandon Tan 😂 You mention that the game is about travel, adventures, trading, community, etc. My thought is that this event actually deters people from those aspects of the game. Whereas someone would need to make friends and trade someone who was lucky enough to get a Mewtwo or a regional? It is now being handed to them. They’re not required to mingle with their community, grind at EX spots, or travel to a new country (if they’re blessed enough to do so). I think trading answered a lot of the original issues of the game. So, I’m scratching my head a bit at this event. I think the game is really going to suffer by not having rare/exclusive Pokémon. It will most likely decrease activity because you won’t need to have a sense of urgency or be that involved to get regionals or legendaries. They will eventually be given to you through research, eggs, or the raiding system. There really isn’t a goal or an endgame, anymore. I hope my concerns make sense. You don’t necessarily have to agree with them. I realize I’m coming off as a grizzled veteran. I will still continue to play as I have since launch week but I’m feeling a bit lost, at this point.
The point of the game is to catch them all so if you can get them all in one way or another then that is the point and in that you still need trading and still have work to do just cause you can't travel to ex raid eligible spots or regional pokemon places doesn't mean you ain't putting in work it means you aren't fortunate enough to be able to go after them cause I know I'm not the only one who if given the chance we would but for now there are those of us who can't and as the ultimate point of playing pokemon go is to get them all as a veteran who has played nearly as long I can say this is to get them all then it doesn't matter to me how me or someone else gets them and I don't expect that the pokemon that you get to be specail but rather how you got them and or if they know a specail move that only those certain pokemon can know and no others can know not how hard they where to get or how specail the pokemon is cause it is exclusive I think that they should be obtainable to everyone as everyone deserves to get to get every pokemon not just a select few so that we can all one day catch or get them all in some way or another and we should be happy for those who get to get theirs and happy in the way we got ours and value that way how ever it was weither it be through research or through hours and days and weeks and months of walking up candy after candy to evolve ours or by hatching egg after egg or eggs or by trading or in a raid cause no matter how hard or easy it was to get or how we got them at least we are all able to complete the whole point of the game Is to get them all train them wich I think they should bring back training the gyms back maybe not prestige and level 10 gyms and stuff but like some sort of trail to get in not just enter cause you want to but like you got to be able to beat every pokemon in the gym with a 6 pokemon to a gym limit still in order to get in not just walk up to a gym and poof you can enter the gym cause the training system trained your pokemon in how to fight while defending a gym and made a 1000 pokemon that you used a lot as strong as a 2000 that some one didn't train up or stronger than them and forced players to use all their pokemon and see what they can do rather than just let pokemon go tell them wich ones are good to use I mean sure you still knew wich ones to use as far as wich ones where supper effective but you wanted your pokemon to be trained so that he or she would be stronger so that if it was defending or attacking a gym it would be stronger by a little bit than the cp would suggest cause people were doing as the song says to catch them is my real test to train them is my cause as in the reason besides catching them all that is the other goal was to train them but now you cant train them anymore just get or catch them all so that is what I focus on is get all the pokemon one way or another
👏👏👏 I may not agree with you, but you have my respect for actually disagree respectfully! This event is great for someone like me. I have been faithfully playing the game since launch, but I don’t spend enough time to be considered a true hardcore player, but that because I have limited resources. I am a very busy college student with little time and money to do things. So I have never been a part of a raid group or made friends through trading yet. I wish I had time to do so. This event gives me greater reason though to put a little more effort into the game and by doing so, interact with more people who play the game. Also, the aspect of finally getting the last 2 Pokémon I need to finish the Kanto dex is so exciting! I have tried to find people to trade with, but the only one that was interested in trading their regional exclusive to me wanted a new shiny from me, and I definitely did not have enough stardust for that. So events like this give reasons to people like me to play more than we already do.
man your videos always inspire me to travel more often, I love travelling, but your videos show me how much more I haven't seen yet. Keep up the amazing videos
Although I have gotten a Mewtwo from an EX raid, I have also missed my fair share of them as well just due to scheduling. There may be people out there who either have missed all their opportunities at EX raids or haven't gotten them yet which is why I think Mewtwo being a raid boss isn't a bad thing. For all we know, Niantic could be planning another EX exclusive for gen 4!
Problem is, it probably won't come back after this. Players who join the game later or old players who quitted and might come back later will miss this. As well as previous events. Niantic should think about this and stack rewards on the game, leaving them permanently instead of swapping them around. Especially for special pokémon unlock.
I feel that you dont really understand why people are upset with the ultra bonus. It's not about mewtwo or theregionals, because those are great. It's more about the other factor. The birds. Most of us just shelled out a ton of money for the previous bonuses. Anywhere from 20 to 30 dollars for each one or up to 100 dollars in total, bc we were under the impression wed have only those 3 hours each to get the shinies and that would be it. If we had known that niantic was just going to give us another week to do what we were trying to do In 3 hours previously we wouldn't have put so much money into the game like that. It's not a nice surprise, it's a horrible one. Niantic used these unlocks to their advantage for the exploitation of our money. Theres no other logical explanation for why they would do it like this.
Cedric Fratus-Nolen Cedric Fratus-Nolen some of us still didn’t get any shinies on those raid days. I shelled out a lot of money on raid passes too but I’m not bitching because I’m excited that I have another chance.
The only person to blame for you not being able to read, is yourself. You jumped to a conclusion and you were wrong. Also bird week is rubbish compared to the individual bird days. The odds are far far worse when it comes to targeting a specific shiny.
I really don't care about the birds at all. I just hate the fact that mewtwo will be available in regular raids for a MONTH. How about a weekend? Or a week? I don't mind everyone having mewtwo, but this one-month thing is really dropping the value of mewtwo to subzero. You have to agree with me. This is the concept of inflation. If you disagree with me, you're an uneducated noob.
@@SmokedSalmon12 have you even watched this video? This is the very point Nick was talking about. I don't know how many mewtwo you have, (I have around 15,) but each one of those will have a story attached to it and its "value" is in those stories and experience from each of those encounters. Nothing can take that away from me. (I name some of mine if they are caught on special days, or under unusual circumstances. ) However some people have not been as luck as me and haven't got a single mewtwo yet, so why not let them have one? Why not let them have their fun? It takes nothing from my past experience and benefits me by giving me more access to potentially higher ivs and more candies. This also then allows a new release into the ex system, which freshens up those for another year and gives us the option to gain more experiences for us to remember.
For me, it IS about the regionals but not because I'm "selfish" and "don't want people to have them" as Nick claims. It's because I appreciate rarity. Rarity is part of the main series games, too, and it makes the game more fun and exciting for EVERYONE not just to have rare Pokemon but to see them in gyms. It's even MORE exciting to see a regional you DON'T have in a gym. Collecting is a large part of Pokemon Go, so eliminating a large part of the rarity factor eliminates a part of the fun. Rarity obviously comes with the possibility of not getting it, but that's what makes it fun if you DO get it. Personally, I'd REALLY like them to release some shinies WITHOUT a special day or event of increased spawns or shiny rates. That would make it more exciting for anyone who finds one. I don't like Niantics, "give the baby everything it wants" approach to the game. That's not a FUN way to catch them all.
Another stunning video Nick, thank you for sharing it with us. I couldn't agree more with your comments about being happy with what you have. In regards to the game, the community is what makes it special. I get excited for other people's catches as much as my own but I love hearing the stories about how and where they caught them. Being relatively new to the game (9 weeks now I think) I feel sad that people would grudge me the opportunity to make my own stories catching my 1st Articuno or Zapdos. I have 6 Moltres in my storage, not because I like the look of them, but because one day I may meet someone new to the game who didn't get one and I can tell them "this is the one that me and 12 other people sprinted along the pier to catch! The faster ones carrying the phones of others, 1 guy with a kid under each arm and his phone between his teeth using his child's head to throw the raid pass with 10 seconds to spare!" those are the stories we all remember! This is a great game that brings people together, don't grudge them the experiences you've had already. On the old cultures, every indigenous population has a similar relationship with nature. Long before we gave our God's names or identies the Aborigines, the American Indians, the European Pagans, the African Herdsmen to name but a few, all feared, respected and ultimately accepted the law of nature. They lived in harmony with their seasonal environment come rain or shine, wind or snow. Nowadays, we farm animals and force grow crops in plastic houses. We've removed our dependancy on nature but more worryingly we're creating a diffusion of responsibility to nature on a global scale. This is the only planet we've ever found that supports life. We need to be mindful of that scary fact. There's no plan B!
On a more positive note, loving Zoe's video bomb for a shiny! 😂 she's always really quiet in everyone else's videos but her channel is great! Loved her impression of Mystic7 and the fact that she had to skillfully edit in so she could speak at the same speed as him!
I've done almost 5000 raids without getting an ex raid pass so I'm happy about mewtwo being available for everyone. Only the spoofers in my city have mewtwo
@@wantstobehitbyatruck7618 The people with mewtwo told me they had to spoof to a starbucks or sprint to get an invite. 95% of my raid group have no mewtwo
yeah everyone in my town cheats. except my little group of 6. it sucks we take a gym because we see no-one around. then it gets taken back. we cant hang around outside at night for hours just to fight back and forth, while they sit at home. ik a lot of cheaters say they only fight gyms when they are there in person. but it doesn't matter. they have the best pokemon in the game . of course its easy. they cheated for it, i wouldn't expect them to not have the best. ill also add here i know everyone cheats because they all talk about it. and most of the cheat only because others do, and they feel they need to in order to compete. its really sad.
This is honestly one of my favorite videos of yours. You spoke about a very important pice of news regarding pokemon go but you also taught us some very valuable lessons that are way beyond pokemon go and apply to a general way to view the world. Thank you, Nick.
the only good thing about the ultra bonus is the regional pokemon but then again that just ruins the purpose of having them for 2 years... I play in kanata Ontario, a small part of ottawa. its a pretty divided community honestly and it sucks but in kanata we manage about 5-7 ex raids every wave. People have figured put where to and where not to raid. Its really not that hard to get a mewtwo ex raid.... so even with a very disconnected community everyone around here has mewtwo and some people dont even go to mewtwo raids anymore... its just disappointing when you get all worked up for ultra bonus all summer long and they drop the same old birds and mewtwo on us. i just feel it could be way better but ill take the regionals i guess
I feel like nick is right about the game being "secondary." However, I disagree in his reasoning, basically saying "the game is crap, but that's secondary so that doesn't matter." The game can be secondary, yes, but it can also be GOOD and fun and equal.
Kevin lol he's just getting burnt out on the game. I'm almost due for my second giant break from the game. that's how uninteresting it's feeling for me.
Dude, I’m from México and I don’t miss any of you videos, I love how well crafted they are, and I love the effort you put in this channel, I hope one day you can visit my country, I would gladly give you a tour. Greetings and keep up with your amazing work.
Amazing video! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this experience for those who dream of visiting Japan and don’t have the means or abilities.
one of your all-time best videos I think. fantastic message, fantastic editing, great choice of song, zoe was lovely as always and just all-round a great reminder of what's important. thanks nick. you and the other Pogo youtubers, keep doing what you do.
I recently started watching your videos for like a month now and I love the content now in this video that message your trying to get out is on point be happy with what you have. Now Pokémon go makes me remember my childhood and what I grow to keep making the awesome videos and hope to meet you one day ( I’m close to lax)
This is why I love your videos. My mom and I play the game together and she's active on her communities discord group. Sadly though the last community day was orchestrated by someone who sucked the fun out of everything and made it into a "do as I say" situation, causing kis (13 year olds) who had been walking around trying to do public raids unable to defeat them because the huge group we had all had private codes. I got so fed up with the group that I broke off and joined the kids with my mom so they had their shot for 4 gyms before we left and just did public raids for the last half hour of the event. So I'm looking forward to the bonus so I have another chance at having a better memory of my community to erase the horrible ones.
this was a great video Nick! I really enjoyed the amazing cinematic footage! You are an incredible creator, and I just love seeing these videos! The music matched perfectly! Thank you so much for sharing your Pokemon Go! journey with us
I agree with Nick. I worked very hard to get my Mew Twos through ex raids but it doesn't take anything away from them. I'm happy that more people will be able to get one who might not have had the chance before.
Some sort of in game "looking for group" system would be nice. Perhaps have it work similar to EX raids where it notifies locals in the area of scheduled raids so it makes it easier for people without friends or groups to team up and find like minded players more easily.
Look at it this way... some people were able to see Infinity War in the theater 5 months ago. Now others are seeing it on Blue Ray. Does it diminish you seeing the movie in the theater now that others are watching it now?
love your videos :) you somehow found a way to make b-roll (i think thats what its called) eye candy and you make every shot look so elegant. thanks for all the hard work u do and keep up the amazing work!!
Nick I absolutely love the way you're making your videos. The way you put up these quotes, show us around in nature and "teach" us about life and culture is truely amazing. For me, Pokemon go is secondary on your channel as well - which, i know, is pretty ironical as you're TrainerTips - the Pokemon Go guide :D Please keep up the good work!
Nick, I love how you express your feelings and live/enjoy life. In other words, I love and enjoy very much your videos with lots of meaning! Grate job!
On a side note, thank you for approaching a visit to my country with respect and not treating it like a zoo, simply with many "exotic" and "weird" things to look at and experience. We're a country with real people with real feelings, and I truly appreciate the respect you have.
I really love everything about your videos. Your take on Pokemon Go, outlook on life, videography. All of it is excellent. If you are ever in Denver, let me know.
Always a pleasure to see your visions. I've always wished to visit & hopefully live in Japan. I love seeing the land & you inspire me to more to push further with my dreams which include me becoming closer to the land. Nihon no yona danryoku-tekina.
For me ultra unlock would mean something new, we already got the birds, each for 3 hours. Mewtwo in raids and regional in eggs kill the value for a lot of potential trades un the future for hardcore players. I would have been happier if the ultra bonus would have been the extra 500 storage Pokémon space we are waiting ...
Wonderful video man, very wise words. You seem like such a chill down to earth dude, and that’s freaking awesome! 💗I wish I knew more people that played Pokémon Go. I’d like to meet more people, and hang out.
I dont even have a single legendary whatsoever and as a casual GO'er I think this is awesome. The work Nick and the crew has done has allowed this to happen and that is incredible!
We got hit by a huracane last year and went almost a year without electricity. No internet , no phone whatsoever. The island is still recovering to this day
Nick, thank you for the video today! You radiate peace, a welcome feeling while unwinding at the end of a hectic day! The thing that drive me to comment is the exquisite beauty you shared with the world - the shrines around the waterfall area! My heart soared and my eyes filled with tears of joy! :D. I must visit (and see the Craftsman too)! My sincerest thanks,
I feel like another good thing about this bonus is an extra chance to build up rhydon, electabuzz, and magmar candies before Gen IV hits and they all get new evolutions.
Sad to see such a beautiful place, I also visited a few times, in such a condidtion. This year was pretty tough for Japan. Earthquakes, and a lot of extreme weather.
Some People just want to Hate and they get selfish lol in this game and in life there's always those Negative Haters 😂😂😂
This ^ is what it's all about.

Ravyn Liam Dude, every time you comment on something, I feel like you sound conceited.
Ravyn Liam since I don’t ever comment I don’t know if I should say I apologize for it seeming as if I used your comment to comment. Either way i didn’t read yours until I posted mine. It just shows when someone sincerely expresses what they love to do it’s universally understood.
Spot on!!!
"if you have the time to play pogo, chances are your at a pretty good place in the world." Nick that spoke volumes to me! I one day would love to visit a place like this, but I might not be able to or my kids might not if we don't change. Part of the solution is spreading the word and the message and I thank you for doing that.

Invited to 21 EX Raids already, and still gonna enjoy the Ultra Unlock
Not gonna complain about daily Mewtwos, it's faster for candy anyway :)
Also still need a shiny Articuno
That's what I thought about Mewtwo being in daily raids.. candy on candy! Time to max these guys out
I’ve done 35 ex raids with my discord group and still haven’t had a mewtwo above 90% iv so I’m definitely gonna be hunting that 100iv mewtwo
Exactly!!!! Daily Mewtwos let us hoard candies to power a bunch of them up, and if they keep the 6% catch rate then it will be fairly easily to catch one with a Pinap.
Another thing - while folks are out there complaining, some of us are taking advantage of the chance of Mewtwo month to duo a Mewtwo with a Scizor + Pinsir setup under rain :)
im not 40 yet so im gonna be doing the raids for exp mostly and a 100% trio and mew2 . :D
Another legendary cinematic video from Trainer Tips. Loved it.
I might never go to Japan in my lifetime, but watching your videos, with your unique style, makes it seem like I'm a world traveler.
For me, the ultra unlock was more than I expected so I think it's really good! And that quote. SO TRUE.
You are the customers Niantic needs. Easy to satisfy
I agree, I was just expecting a 3-hour Mewtwo day not a WHOLE MONTH! Plus the birds! Definitely a huge unlock you can't really be mad at that. The only thing I wish they did was offer more bag space lol.
Road to the 2 Comma Club and the regional pokemons.. another reason to open gifs while empty on eggs
Same here!!!
@@AlphaKala 😂😂😂
My city doesn't get EX Raids.. so this ultra bonus is absolutely a god send.
Why doesnt it get?
@@franciscosantos-tg5kf no gyms that are EX raid viable.
I know that feel... Pretty sure my entire country is like that lol... from Pakistan so :3
Yeah no its lame
I 100% agree Nick. If it wasn't for the people I met in this game I would not be playing. The game is ok the people are amazing. Most of the people I talk to on a daily basis, friends, are people I met or reconnected with in PoGo. No we go out and do stuff like escape rooms, go to the movies, get meals, or go to the beach together. We play the game but like you said its secondary to the connections we made and continue to grow.
You always choose the best music for your videos. Seriously. Nicely done. I was living for that track like 6 mins in.
Ex raids should be removed. And move the "exclusive" system to something more transparent.
You know what all the hardcore players get from the ultra bonus? A chance to take a break.
Damn right, I'm done for now.
Not in my area. A shiny MewTwo? That will bring everyone back out. They didn't like the Regis and went into hiding because they're not meta relevant and there were no shinies available. MewTwo is a meta beast with three different uses. Everyone's gonna be out, including the hardcores.
Kyle Dane did they say Mewtwo was going to be shiny?!
I was mad until i read this comment. Taking a break lol
You know what I reread the announcement and it doesn't say there will be shiny MewTwo, only the shiny birds are mentioned.
Another great video I love when you take your time to give us some history behind the scenes when you travel (Thank You)
The only part I'm disappointed in is the birds.
Such a well thought out soothing video here, well wishes to those affected by this typhoon. Nick, props to you on your video editing - enjoyable :)
Ex will maintain its purpose because after this it won't be very long till another pokemon (most likely deoxys) fills in the ex slot
@@williamtrempe9328 yes, but that one will be available in raids later on if you just wait
@Alessandro Malvasi nope. I wouldn't make any effort if I know it will be easier to get later. I would focus on other more fun things I. the game instead
I live in a town with zero ex gyms. This is great for me.
Not really. U know mewtwo has been on ex raid for more than a year.
That is exculsive eoungh. I think.
Lol.
I agree the game is meant to be fun for everyone so everyone should have the chance to have fun and fill their Pokédex
No one is talking about the Pikachus...
you've really raised the bar on the last videos here mate, the japan and celebi vids have been amazing. Music editing voice over just amazing!
People have had long enough to feel special with their mewtwos and regionals most of us can't afford to travel to get them or get out to do raids it's only fair that we get a chance to get these pokemon and i love that Niantic is doing it.
RoadEnds stop being causal period

I don’t think it’s bad unless you live in a rural area and nobody raids
If nobody raids are you going to solo mewtwo?
How sad.

・ _The Three Legendary Birds:_ Good, I couldn't get a shiny Moltres and Articuno yet.
Vhan Chua it’s set when you open the gift. So you have to open the gifts after the go time.
I love that you share so much of what you see on your travels. Thank you!
ELEVEN! Oh well.
I've been a bit busy and missed a lot of your videos over the last month or two. What a great one to come back to though.
Niantic.. Don't care what people think as long as the money from raid pass alone goes up.
Best overall Pokemon RUclips channel! Thanks for all the videos!
PossessedFajita
I totally agree, but as i said, they rushed it.
Oh my God Nick your video gave me good luck I finally caught that freaking Ditto. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌🏻👌🏼👌🏽👌🏾👌🏿👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
You have no idea, it was a sentret and it jumped out of the pokeball and I was about to run because I didn't need the candy or xp. Keep up that positivity Nick!
Andrew Gabriel Ditto was that hard? Are u still stuck on step 5??
TheAsianGamer to this day I find it hard to get a ditto. when I needed the new research it took a pretty long time. I caught nearly everything in sight. eventually I ended up getting one. the funny thing was prior to that research I had 5 ditto that I had caught at random points in time.
@@ArtisChronicles what? How? I catch close to 5 a day qithout even trying that much
Alberto6800 that is something I have no way of explaining. it's not unusual for me to go weeks without ever getting one though.
WOW. Zoeys spot was absolutely majestic! I am loving these video montages, they are beautifully shot and the main reason i watch this channel.
See, you put Pokemon before your job...
Placing pokemon before work? Your fault
Nick I would like to say that I did not want your video to end unreal footage and great content thank you
I run the risk of getting down voted to oblivion for saying this but here is my perspective - The issue isn’t being happy for people achieving things in this game.
And it's hard enough to catch even if you battle in an EX raid.
beautiful vid bro, hanging with that crafter would be something you will never forget
(I name some of mine if they are caught on special days, or under unusual circumstances. )
However some people have not been as luck as me and haven't got a single mewtwo yet, so why not let them have one?
Big Mike how is that even possible wtf man I’m sorry
how u know they aree spoofers? maybe they traveled?
@@wantstobehitbyatruck7618 The people with mewtwo told me they had to spoof to a starbucks or sprint to get an invite. 95% of my raid group have no mewtwo
ah that way, could not know it, when reading it it looks like u call them that for having something u dont have, but if they told u its different
yeah everyone in my town cheats. except my little group of 6. it sucks we take a gym because we see no-one around. then it gets taken back. we cant hang around outside at night for hours just to fight back and forth, while they sit at home.
ik a lot of cheaters say they only fight gyms when they are there in person. but it doesn't matter. they have the best pokemon in the game . of course its easy. they cheated for it, i wouldn't expect them to not have the best.
ill also add here i know everyone cheats because they all talk about it. and most of the cheat only because others do, and they feel they need to in order to compete. its really sad.
Love the cinematics, ARs and quotes! Cool that the friendly wood carver invited you in!
I love your vids trainer tips
Such great and inspirational words at the beginning. Keep up the amazing work love the content man!
"You get a legendary! And YOU get a legendary! And YOUUUUU GET A LEGENDARY!!!!!!"
Why couldn't they be rare? Like one per person, if that.
and 85% people got shiny legendary. so the 15% people that didn't get the shiny legendary are the uncommon people. so weird 😑
@@hitsurei lol so true
Amazing video! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this experience for those who dream of visiting Japan and don’t have the means or abilities.
DEEP!
one of your all-time best videos I think. fantastic message, fantastic editing, great choice of song, zoe was lovely as always and just all-round a great reminder of what's important. thanks nick. you and the other Pogo youtubers, keep doing what you do.
I recently started watching your videos for like a month now and I love the content now in this video that message your trying to get out is on point be happy with what you have. Now Pokémon go makes me remember my childhood and what I grow to keep making the awesome videos and hope to meet you one day ( I’m close to lax)
Wow. This is one of your more amazing videos. That really was a 'magical' place Zoe led you to. So glad you shared it with us!
Thank you so much for sharing your Pokemon Go! journey with us
I love the cinematography in this! Well placed to help get your "contentment" way of life through to the viewers!
Another magnificient vlog Nick! Looking forward to watch the final encounter with Celebi!
Nick seriously, next level. Love the perspective shifts you put out into the world without forcing it down on anyone💞💞
Wow I had no idea how intense that typhoon was. Thanks for showing some of the aftermath.
This video is one of your best. Made me fall in love with the channel all over again.
You forget to put Zoe in the discription 😉 nice video thanks for taking me with you to this beautiful place
this video gave me chills keep up the great work man your videos are art!
Great video and great message!! Loved the video bud!
Nick I absolutely love the way you're making your videos. The way you put up these quotes, show us around in nature and "teach" us about life and culture is truely amazing.
For me, Pokemon go is secondary on your channel as well - which, i know, is pretty ironical as you're TrainerTips - the Pokemon Go guide :D
Please keep up the good work!
Dude by far your best video I found myself consumed....I watch everyone of your videos and your the best. Thank you
Nick, I love how you express your feelings and live/enjoy life.
I would have been happier if the ultra bonus would have been the extra 500 storage Pokémon space we are waiting ...
great vid love the footage nice seeing places that I will never get too and the unique little hidden spots
By far one of the best videos you've made.
Thank you for sharing. The Wood Carving sequence brought me to tears....
Your such a humble guy.
More people should be like you
I've waited so long for such a conscious and feeling video like yours on youtube. thank you, Nick
